The newer ECM circulators are certainly nice as well as energy efficient, but I still like the old B&G 100 series for long life, provided they are properly maintained.
A boiler I did recently came with a taco ecm to be installed on the return and had already been switched/flipped from the factory. But I do see many installed sideways or upside down but seem to work fine.
Ohhhhhh she be toasted dark dark😊 I have seen toasted but that baby was beyond toasted and on a 15A too an she went nuclear before tripped. Bet that was a long floral display before the breaker tripped.. I love my taco pumps❤
I think a flow check is required on the domestic water heater/ indirect because in the winter time when the boilers working hard, it’ll overheat the water in the storage tank unless they have a mixing valve. What’s your thoughts?
a wee bit toasty and that's why they want the head placed with the electrical knockout facing down, so water will not follow the cable in, nor pool inside and short it out.

Just cause you see it don’t mean it’s right. Read the manual

Is that a code requirement? Very informative regardless!
I think it's just the way the box is supposed to sit to make sure wiring is kept safe from moisture.
It’s what it says in the manual
