Usually they tell mario in reality he sees she's not there he will ask around usually it's the toads who tell him peach has been kidnapped or mario just hears all the blasts and explosions or he is just already on his way to her castle when the kidnapping has started
i always got the impression the castle is otherwise empty from how silent things are until the fight starts, so seeing peach missing would pretty much confirm bowser's been there i don't really know how much thought was put into it though, it could indeed just be time to take a piss

This animation is fucking incredible. The movements and punches/kicks are fluid and impact full. There's actually a story behind it. And by god do I love how cool it looks
I've always been a fan of sonic more so then mario, just liked the games more, honestly im not even upset in the slightest about the outcome of the fight, im just impressed with the quality of the animation more then anything.
I really like this one. I like it a lot. Sonic is fast and his combos are fast. Mario is slower, but you can feel the power behind each hit. There's something so authentic about it. I will never tire of watching that "No more playing around!" part in particular.
Goes to show that, if Mario is *THAT* powerful, then you can see the seriousness of the threat that Bowser poses...and he's been at it for almost 3 decades. I think a better conclusion to the fight would have been if Sonic verbally acknowledged that Mario was much tougher than he seemed, and Mario helps him back up, and BOTH go to find where Peach was taken (IF Peach was in fact abducted, that is). I really can't jive with a "last man standing/one to rule them all" kind of rivalry when it comes to Mario and Sonic.

I always like to think of Sonic & Mario as The Flash & Superman. Mario has HELLA strength & more serious, Sonic has HELLA speed & only serious when the situation's dire. But just like when Flash & Supes fight... *Don't think just b/c Flash is so much faster than Superman, Superman doesn't have the reflexes to catch/counter him & he'll just get smacked around.*
One of the only Sonic fans that actually research Mario and doesn't just say, Lol, Mario weak, Sonic kill all dbz characters. Sonic is strong but, most fans worship him like he is invincible which in sonic 06 and unleashed, we saw he clearly isn't.
to be fair batman, deathstroke, and others have been able to catch flash of guard even when using his speed, although realistically if flash wanted to kill people he could do so in an instant

However due to recent games giving Mario a pretty godlike transformation, I’d say it goes either way. Both fighters are still incredible and way more even than most people claim.

I love the animation. It's top quality and the shading in the background is really nice. really shows how the castle is empty. Something bad happened. As for the fight i really love how you showed it. custom sprites and animations were gorgeous. This is probably one of the best animations that you've ever made. Another thing that i liked was that mario DOMINATED throughout most of the fight. After seeing other mario characters lose to sonic a few times in the past (including on other shows) This was really nice to see. Thanks for throwing us mario fans a bone. We all appreciate it.
eh. it was a quick blitz. happens often in fighting shows, games, etc. Theres no doubt in my mind that if sonic wasn't knocked out mario would continue stomping.
I must say though. Sonics speed worked against him here. he impacted marios fist at what i assume was his top speed. that'd probably be a crippling blow if it was a normal human. it's also break that humans fist.

This was an amazing animation and you just earned a new sub sir. I also want to add that I am glad Mario won because Sonic was being a huge jerk to him in this one. Ultimate Sonic95 you see, Mario was always going to win the one minute melee. Sonic one in the death battle and tails beet Luigi in the one minute melee. So just for fairness they made Mario win. With Items Mario stomps badly. Mario's RPG world has some broken ass Items like Star Rod, Chaos Hearts, Pure Hearts, and many more. But on base states Sonic is superior. Only thing he outmatched Sonic in is Jump and Strength. Sonic is more durable and fast.

That was closer to a Shinryuken imo. A Shin Shoryuken is a blow to the gut prior to the actual Shoryu. In this case it's a fiery version of the Super Jump Punch (You know, Mario's up special from Smash?).
Even though no power ups are really used, the choreography, the different camera shots and especially the absurd sense of speed make this phenomenal. Easily the best animation of this matchup I’ve ever seen.

I really enjoyed the way Sonic's fighting was animated here. Especially the part at 3:15 where he sends an afterimage decoy to feint mario. That was...really cool.

First of all, Mario is stronger then Sonic and Sonic is faster then Mario. Lets all remember that. As a Sonic fan i can say i dont like what Sega has done with Sonic's development. he shouldve had more to him long ago. As a Mario fan i can say Mario has had alot of focus on his power instead of his effects, not to downplay his flashiness. if you throw in both without their items all Sonic has is his speed and technique and Mario his Power and reflexes. Because Mario doesnt move as fast as Sonic means hes more accustomed to dealing with things at his pace and, with his more serious attitude, means hes a calm but aggressive fighter. Sonic has always dealt with people slower then him and uses his speed to inflict alot a damage in a short amount of time. though i hate to say it Mario deserves to win this one though they didnt give Sonic his props on how much damage he did. so to all fans on both sides: CHILL THE HELL OUT! who cares who won this time? their both the types to say good game and walk away friends :)

I thought it was going to end in a double K.O. I hope one day Mario and Sonic get a proper cross over. An rpg like Mario and Luigi or Sonic forces like game with Mario. The final boss for sonic should be him being super sonic vs super powered bowser. Then Mario will be fighting Eggman. Having eggman insult Mario's mustache.
Holy crap, there are so many details to the fight that show so much passion and creativity with the characters. Like when sonic uses his speed to fake out Mario, it's so subtle but absolutely adds to the value of the fight

People think Mario is weak af, Mario literally grabbed an Castle in Super Mario World which is powerful feat. Mario with pure hearts was stronger than Dimentio who was a god and about to destroy all Multiverse of Mario (Super Mario Bros 1 universe etc.). People just underestimating Mario's power.
@ you know, there IS a difference between being a god and killing a god. While it is impressive doing it in only base, beating dreamy bowser doesn't automatically put him on his level of power.
If you compare their basic abilities throughout their platforming games, no power ups or gimmicks, just default movesets, Sonic would win. But I get that Mario won this fight because: A. Sonic asked for it, and Mario needed to prove his point/protect his dignity. B. I barely see any fanmade fight where Mario takes the W. It's usually Sonic who wins, or it's a tie. Ya get me?
No. That all happened very quickly. It was slowed down to show you what happened in that .5 seconds there. OMM shows a 1 minute animation. The battle it’s self will often exceed up to around 1-2.5 seconds or be less then that time.
@@cheese8055 That requires a lot of assumptions. Characters generally move and succumb to gravity relatively normally, so the speed factor is mostly Sonic's. I was commenting on the fact that when it slowed down at the end, the timer kept moving and let Mario move. Sure, I can understand your reasoning, but this is a show that ignores powerscaling, which is good, and it means it has no purpose in pretending that we're seeing a slowed down version for our benefit. My comment carried a hint of 'sonic should have won', but I mostly accentuated that very mild feeling for the sake of the joke.

Results: If Sonic gets super form, he wins. If both of them get any power up except the super form, Mario wins. If neither of them get extra powers, Sonic wins... But if you piss off Mario it's a completely different story.

I really like this one. I like it a lot. Sonic is fast and his combos are fast. Mario is slower, but you can feel the power behind each hit. There's something so authentic about it. I will never tire of watching that "No more playing around!" part in particular.
Goes to show that, if Mario is *THAT* powerful, then you can see the seriousness of the threat that Bowser poses...and he's been at it for almost 3 decades.
I think a better conclusion to the fight would have been if Sonic verbally acknowledged that Mario was much tougher than he seemed, and Mario helps him back up, and BOTH go to find where Peach was taken (IF Peach was in fact abducted, that is). I really can't jive with a "last man standing/one to rule them all" kind of rivalry when it comes to Mario and Sonic.

I love the animation. It's top quality and the shading in the background is really nice. really shows how the castle is empty. Something bad happened. As for the fight i really love how you showed it. custom sprites and animations were gorgeous. This is probably one of the best animations that you've ever made. Another thing that i liked was that mario DOMINATED throughout most of the fight. After seeing other mario characters lose to sonic a few times in the past (including on other shows) This was really nice to see. Thanks for throwing us mario fans a bone. We all appreciate it.

eh. it was a quick blitz. happens often in fighting shows, games, etc. Theres no doubt in my mind that if sonic wasn't knocked out mario would continue stomping.
I must say though. Sonics speed worked against him here. he impacted marios fist at what i assume was his top speed. that'd probably be a crippling blow if it was a normal human. it's also break that humans fist.

First of all, Mario is stronger then Sonic and Sonic is faster then Mario. Lets all remember that. As a Sonic fan i can say i dont like what Sega has done with Sonic's development. he shouldve had more to him long ago. As a Mario fan i can say Mario has had alot of focus on his power instead of his effects, not to downplay his flashiness. if you throw in both without their items all Sonic has is his speed and technique and Mario his Power and reflexes. Because Mario doesnt move as fast as Sonic means hes more accustomed to dealing with things at his pace and, with his more serious attitude, means hes a calm but aggressive fighter. Sonic has always dealt with people slower then him and uses his speed to inflict alot a damage in a short amount of time. though i hate to say it Mario deserves to win this one though they didnt give Sonic his props on how much damage he did. so to all fans on both sides: CHILL THE HELL OUT! who cares who won this time? their both the types to say good game and walk away friends :)

A. Sonic asked for it, and Mario needed to prove his point/protect his dignity.

No. That all happened very quickly. It was slowed down to show you what happened in that .5 seconds there. OMM shows a 1 minute animation. The battle it’s self will often exceed up to around 1-2.5 seconds or be less then that time.
@@cheese8055 That requires a lot of assumptions. Characters generally move and succumb to gravity relatively normally, so the speed factor is mostly Sonic's. I was commenting on the fact that when it slowed down at the end, the timer kept moving and let Mario move.
