This video was so helpful. I just moved to the beach and want to get a good quality chair that will last a while, be easy to carry, and most of all be comfortable. The bar across the front is something I definitely don't want.

Tommy Bahama FTW! Every season I look for a better overall design, but haven't found one in over a decade!
FYI, you can use a simple ultralight foam pad on the seat to deal with that front bar digging into your thighs. I use an inflatable sleep pad to turn this chair into beach bed/cot.

What exactly did you buy. I don’t see how you can make it into a cot, where do you put the sleep pad exactly ¿

*Love the towel bar and the cooler Not a big fan of the pillow. It's a bit thick and a little uncomfortable for me. I like the pockets on the side. They are a bit tough to figure out how to fold up and unfold but i'm sure that will change with practice.*

we need an update! more chairs! a lot of them have fixed or removed the bar that hits the back of the thigh
Great reviews, thanks! Wish these manufacturers would scrap the zippers, they just rust and fail over time. A better idea is probably to scrap the cooler pouch and just have one big pocket with snap clips.

I love the giant red beach chair! The Life is Good beach hair has the removable cooler bag.
Perhaps a swimming pool noodle would help with the leg issue on these chairs. If I were a surf fisherman, I'd get the last chair.

Can you review a beach chair for old people with bad knees and back, I guess more of a camp chair. Hopefully one will surface with an aluminum frame , I am concerned the steel frames will rust away. I surf fish and need to be comfy during those long wait times.

All those beverage holders and cooler pouch for drinks in the oversized red beach chair. So, how quick does pee flow through the bottom when you pee in the beach chair?

I replied to your comment a few days ago, but I guess I never hit reply. I have found that backpack straps are usually an afterthought for most beach chair manufacturers. The straps tend to be thin. If you load up a beach chair with heavy items such as beverages, you'll definitely feel the weight on your shoulders.

The Tommy Bahama beach chair is 34 dollars at costco. Don't over pay.
I just paid 150.00 for two on Amazon. Oops. I don’t go to Costco. Not for the beach though. For outdoor concerts.
Just watched this video 1 year later and I was going to say the same thing. Tommy Bahama cair is great just go to Costco.
And the nice thing about the new Tommy Bahama at Costco is they got rid of the bar underneath your legs. Plus I got two chairs for 64 bucks online.
Am I the only beachgoer who is thoroughly irritated that the backpack straps hang down in the sand when the chair is open? And thus, when I close up the chair to leave the beach I am also covered in sand when I put the chair on my back? This absolutely ruins my beach experience.
You're not the only one April. If I think of it, I will tighten up the backpack straps and tie them together with a mini bungee chord so they don't hit the sand.
Put a beach towel under your chair. When you pick the beach towel up, put it in a disposable plastic bag so you can wash it when you get home. At least the sand isn't on the chair.
