You have a knack for storytelling/creating, my friend . You really showed the capabilities of this minimal camera setup. If you’re great at what you do, you don’t need much to do it. Thanks for the all the information you share, it goes a long way. Cheers!
Notification squad rise up! I was waiting for this one! Great breakdown really inspires me and how I work on my own creative process! Looking forward to more content!
Just discovered you and your content is incredible. You have a great tone of voice, a knack for what you do and willingness to share a lot of very useful and valuable tricks and tips. I am sort of piecing something similar for an electric motorcycle company and cannot wait to use some of what I learnt from you. Subscribed and liked. Cannot wait to follow your journey to the top. You and Danny Gervitz, are now my favourite TH-camrs. Thanks again!
@@TheGlassEyeTV Thanks Nima, appreciate the response. Currently the company is just... me haha. Creating content for various agencies in Sydney, Australia. Here and there, I'll work with other freelancers on projects where its required, and look to grow in the next couple of years. Would also like to create a TH-cam channel where like you, I'd want to share what I learnt and also find my voice in the process - You're a great inspiration, very natural and super genuine!
I've been germinating on an answer to your question, 'what kind of tutorial would I like to see from your channel?' Sound. Getting started with sound, especially under the guise of slimming everything down. How to capture sound, what good sound means (echo, how much background noise is good noise, etc.)... I'm doing video essays with an Google Pixel 4 and just using the audio recorder app. I've moved from my teaching office, to a clothes closet, and I've found I capture the best audio inside my minivan in the middle of the night 😅 I'd like to upgrade... but I don't know what that means as far as delivering a quality product.
Amazing video! Would love to see your approach towards Davinci wide gamut. These sort of technicals are really daunting for beginners like myself and you’ve got a great way of breaking things down. Your node tree for the colour work also looked very intriguing, would love to know your workflow regarding that as well!
Great stuff, I like your editing and sound FX work. Like your general vibe and approach. Just subbed because I'm looking to buy the FX3! I wasn't even aware of the Wide Gamut possibility, I'll look into it as I'm just joining the LOG shooting bandwagon ;)
Maaaan I'm in awe of your work. Especially love the car related stuff you do. It's so cool. And I don't even own a car. Loved the way you told that story.
Nice work. Similar deal here. Car related stories with minimal kit and usually only a day to film. Plenty of trial and error and finding ways to work with what's there rather than setup elaborate scenes. I need to work on onboard audio more and try different mounting locations but I use one of those little Tascam DR10 units. They can record 2 files simultaneously, one at a lower level for safety. Pretty useful. Anyway, subscribed and looking forward to the next one. Cheers.
Dude, i need you know that i really wanna come back to Vancouver just to spent some days inside in your productions and the car's lifestyle that you guys have. I think paradise must be like this! Hahahahah!! Another amazing content, man! I love it! Keep it going!
Tried inside the engine bay and I couldn’t stop it from clipping so we opted for inside the car near the back. This car in particular is pretty bare so not much sound deadening inside. In an ideal world you have one in the engine bay, one by the exhaust and one in the cabin
Damn bro, your channel is awesome. Loved the Porsche vid and this behind the scenes was a real treat. Subbing and gonna go watch like 5 or 6 of your old ones haha!
You should post an affiliate link to that magnet attachment. I would buy it. If not possible, let me know the name of that magnet thing for the camera.
Just posted a link in the description. I remember there's a larger one that's more secure but I'm not seeing it at first glance on their site: rigwheels.com/product/rigmount-magnetic-mount-with-head/
Yo…..What camera would you choose, the Sony fx3 or the canon r6 mark 2? For documentary/vlog content, I also take pictures occasionally. Great Content.
Haven’t tried the R6 so hard to say but FX3 will be miles better for video. The new small Sony will have the same sensor and codecs as the FX3 so that may be a good option if you want to save a few pennies
Because so many people were volunteering their time, it was very piece meal. So we did 4 shorter shoots (two with Trevor, two with Billy). But I'd say it was do-able in 2 full shoot days.
Translation : Hello, Thank you for your feedback, I have a Rode Videomic NTG microphone and I would like to buy the Sony FX3 camera. Can you answer a technical question? Is the rotation of the removable screen hindered by the mini jack of the microphone and by the open plastic cover of the microphone and headphone inputs? Thanks for your answer.
very interesting video! Great visuals and very inspiring! I understand you do more video related things though I'm looking and trying to decide on 2 or 3 lenses all together under $2000-2500 for the Sony A7 IV. I do mainly outdoor portraits. I'm looking for lenses that have beautiful above average rendering and resolving power as I will be printing large 50/70cm prints regularly from the A7IV. I know and understand that clients aren't pixel peepers and they couldn't care less about stuff like bokeh but I do think it makes a difference on the long run. A great lens will support my work in a great way! Can you please recommend me? Thank you!
Thank you for the kind words. Regarding the lenses, honestly I don’t have an answer for you. With the Sony my focus was always speed so prime lenses were out of the question. Unless it was for a specialty shot, like macro.
Was great to see you use the FX3 & Sigma 24-70 together for a project. Good stuff! Just got my Sigma the other day for my own FX3. You shooting S-log for this as well I assume? (looks good)

That had me actually laughing out loud. Your silly analogies and even sillier drawings to accompany them are absolutely amazing!
Thanks man - makes the videos fun for me too
I have a real problem with the lack of subscribers around here. Definitely a 100k sub channel bare minimum.
working on it! In the meantime - share share share!
Love the Gerald Undone reference at the end! Nice work man.

I would loooove to see a video on the wide gamut color space!
I did not skip the thank you parts! 👏👏👏 awesome work
My FX3 arrives today. Your video is getting me stoked! (not like I wasn't't already!)

Yeah it would be great to eventually get a 32bit float recorder on the car (like the Tentacle Sync Track E or Zoom F2)
Great content. I just subscribed, cuz I want to see more of you. It was a pleasure watching this video :D keep it up!
Thanks for watching!
Zoom F2 for car audio would be perfect. 32 bit float is clip proof. set it and forget it.
that's true! That or one of those tentacle sync track e recorders. But you can still overload a mic right?
@@TheGlassEyeTV I’ve never been able to with the F2. It’s a godsend. There isn’t even a gain option on it.
😮 you may have just sold me on it. You dunno how many good pulls weren’t useable because at peak RPM it clipped!
@@TheGlassEyeTV I’ve paired it with a wireless go too. it’s killer.
maybe i'll just text you about this, but doesn't that eliminate the 32bit float-y-ness of it all?

Thanks! Curious how often you used the active stabilization feature in the handhold shop footage. Care to share?
All of it was using active stabilization.
@@TheGlassEyeTV good to know. *cries in a7III*
