Great video! Here in Montana we start winter preps as soon as the snow disappears & the weather warms up to 30 degrees! We start our spring saying "Winter is coming!"🤣😂😁 So glad to know the soot buildup in my barn isn't completely due to my laziness. It's the dang chickens!😂😂😂
I'm not a homesteader but I really appreciate all your videos, your simple lifestyle, your hard work and the results. You're my inspiration to grow my own food and be more self reliance even if it's in my tiny apartment in NYC ❤
This is a good learning video. Just as you were learning as you go, we had a chance to learn along with you. I'm impressed with how even your very young childern get in there and help with the work. These parents are teaching there children good work ethics. I think these projects turned out quite well. Nice to see a family working together so well. Great job every one.😊
This was the best video. You guys are so amazing. I love how open and honest you are. You got so much done. You're gonna to be so glad all winter and winters to come. Your kids are hard workers and so willing to pitch in. Your family is so blessed and it's because of the great parenting you and Jim do. Love your great family. Have a blessed week.
What a great video! I so appreciate your channel as I learn new things and feel new inspiration with each video. Thank you for sharing tips, suggestions and actual real details. Congratulations on making new progress on your small farm. It’s just great!
Fascinating! Having grown up in Indiana (but not on a farm), I'm always interested to watch all that goes into keeping things running and the systems you put in place to make sure things get done as efficiently as you can make them. It's also fun to see you making changes and improvements to your systems, always moving forward and upward. It's so much fun to watch your beautiful children eagerly pitch in to get things done. I think a good portion of that is that they see you modeling that same work. And you credit them with the intelligence and ability to accomplish the tasks. It's a bit of a shame that so many children grow up with the adults around them assuming they aren't capable of doing important jobs and work that requires concentration and critical thinking. I'm not sure when that was all lost, but it's good to see this respect us still alive and well on farms in our heartland. You are raising your children to be capable, problem-solving adults rather than just oversized children who are crushed under the weight of ordinary decisions and setbacks. Congratulations on your new water lines! And getting your garlic in and the beds put to sleep for the winter. 🎉🎉
Yes the loose pea gravel from a building supply would have been a better and cheaper option.😊 Well done on the job😊 Great work with the garden and hoses😊 Loving the planting of the Hard Neck Garlic😊
I have over 100 chickens and i put cedar chips 3 ft. Deep and i clean my barn every 7 years. Theres never been a smell of chicken coop of any kind. I do ocasionally add a bag or two on top with some feed to cause them to turn it for us. Ps. My chickens only lay eggs and sleep in our coop. They run on 10 acres so itscnot like theyre stuck in there

Thanks for the info on Redmond's Agriculture. I use their salt but didn't know they had an agricultural division.
Thank you for making these enjoyable videos!

Just be careful because cedar is poisonous to chickens and their respiratory systems

Second view 😂. Western North Carolina Mountains. Nice video.
Hoorah again! Thanks for watching!
😊👍👍👍
A small automatic chicken door in the side of the barn could make the barn start cleaner
👍
If you put the blade down on that thing it won’t slide forward on you.
I see it’s chained up so it’s not working? Unfortunate.
First view
Hoorah!!
