Hopefully it will finally be open by the end of the summer, be even better if it opened in the summer itself
I really hope so too.
If it open in the summer I would sometime bike around the sunnybrook park and try it out
The latest projection is it will be in service by springtime. (the last day of spring is June 20th.)
@@iancanuckistan2244 🤞🤞
If this ACTUALLY opens to the public this year around September, then literally speaking, Happy BLOODY 30th Birthday to me!
Happy Birthday
I think they were planning on it being a good 50th present to you.
Much needed soon!
Thanks for the video!! Can't wait until they actually start 🙏🏽
i hope there will be more trains that that, that line is going to be CRAZY busy when it opens...can you just imagine RUSH HOUR crowds if it's just that many trains at a time> Is there a site where we can bet on the number of break downs per month?
I thought the platforms are long enough for 3 cars so should be fine
This is a really cool full scale model of a transit system they built. Took a while but it's cool nonetheless. I think it would be a good idea if they built one that could be used by people though.
Lmaoo
Let's hope that this much delayed LRT line opens in the summer of 2024.
Why does Ontario (Metrolinx) refuse to use transit signals that the rest of the world uses? Without the English-only verbage sign clutter.
Ontario does use the white bar transit signals in other locations, but I'm not sure why the Eglinton line doesn't use them.
cause why not?
Because a white bar in Toronto means "turn left or right but do not go straight". If they put white bars on the ECLRT the trains wouldn't be able to move anywhere.
I really hope these cars go much faster than this when the line eventually opens. 🤔
I'm sure it will be open and running fine in another couple of years...
Hopefully the operating speed is actually faster because that's hella slow for the amount of stops it will make and the distance it will travel
That always drives me batty with North American transit. It’s so slow! Transit is treated like a Sunday pleasure cruise. Not an actual method of transport.
@@tcsnowdream9975Slow design, consult, build, financing, too many NIMBYs, not ambitious enough. I don't know the frequency but any rubbish or snow or ice on the long track could spell havoc for the entire line since most of it is above ground. Hopefully the team from France, UK, Germany thought of this...
@@tcsnowdream9975 The issue is they always compare to North America which has the worst public transit per $. Transit in Canada should be aiming for Asian or Western European levels or service, which is good that they have DB as technical partners. A step in the right direction.
cool compilation, but don’t expect it to open soon
whats your definition of soon? its like 98% done and will probably open late this year
@@stephen9609 yeah but just have a weird feeling it’s gonna get delayed again
What is your feeling based on?@@transitgoods2477 Do you have inside knowledge? I live at Yonge and Eg and I can finally say after so many years that I think it will open this year... the above ground section has been pretty much done for years now, all the stations are complete, and Yonge & Eg is almost fully back to normal.
@@stephen9609 based on? The project manager for Metrolinx has said repeatedly that they will NOT commit to a 2024 date at this time, and typically speaking there can be upwards of at least one year of signal & computer interface testing. Sadly this is the age old addage of ''just because it 'looks' good, doesn't mean it is.'' My prediction would be a Spring opening in 2025 because I can't see them opening it during winter months.
@@mattrix4200 TTC is Preparing for a September 2024 Opening
Holy, cars are so damn loud eh? That road noise is no joke.
1042 Great shot
Awesome!
I caught many LRT’s Last Friday
Why is the overhead equipment so massive? I’m a tram fan but I don’t think this style of massive equipment will please the eyes of many deciders….
Looks very good!!
I hope they put large ads on it when it opens like they do on line 1 subway trains and the streetcars.
They legit need the 5 line in other areas in Ellington in my POV.
you mean the east of kenndy
Might be open at the end of 2025
Is this a streetcar or a subway?
OPEN LINE 5 METROLINX RIGHT NOW!!!! Or else I'll open it myself. because I'm now angry that it took way too long.
Is it open?
Have they tested during inclimate weather? Hate to see this open but not be able to cope with a little bit of snow or freezing rain
It always happens , during a storm .The only line that runs during a storm is the Sheppard Line, because it is all underground .
If these Bombardier Flexity Freedoms have been running in Kitchener-Waterloo for years and in Edmonton since last November. There’s not much to worry about, especially on how colder it gets in Edmonton.
Wow.
Just look at that overhead visual pollution caused by the power lines.
too slow
Transit doesn't need to be this ugly
I'm sure it will open once all the new trains warranty expires.
Slow and lame.
