In so many short horror films, there will be some disturbing event, creature, noise, monster, or whatever and the main actor barely even flinches or seems alarmed. This lady did a good job without even saying a word!
The thing I like the most about this is that there are no jump-scares. No things appearing out of nowhere, no sharp noises. It's pure atmosphere, and that is so rare to see these days.
TheStrangr: I don't know about that: seeing that man duck very fast, almost too fast, in the aisle coming toward her made me jump. It became predictable at the ending but worthy of 4/5 stars.
This short film focuses on terror more than horror. The feeling that you know theres a threat, but no direct sign of danger. No jumpscares, scary noises. Just pure terror and eeriness, knowing that its there but looking and seeing that its gone. Love it
I agree. its up to everyone for themselves if they believe in demons ghosts etc and through that may find them scarier or not. People exist and history proved that we are capable of very horrible things
The way she walked onto the train and looked around, staring at people for a while, at the same time showing a sort of anxiety... it makes me think that she's the type of person who has social anxiety. The idea of being seen is scarier for her than the idea of seeing others. She watches them, but she can't stand being watched. And that particular anxiety shines through when someone spots her and starts paying too much attention to her... getting close and closer... until she feels as though she's living in her own horror film. It gave me more of an insight on mental trauma than anything supernatural or based on senseless horror. Very interesting!!
I also saw it as she's a person who's anxious before getting on the train, but seeing people and being around them gave her a sense of comfort and safety. Then, all of the sudden, that was gone
The way that as she's trying not to look, we the audience aren't allowed to look either which makes it even more unnerving when she finally gives in and takes another peak. So well done!
I gotta give props to the actress! Her expressions were so spot on! Plus, the fact that her response to what was happening was so quiet made me feel more claustrophobic and helpless - knowing that if I was her, no one was around and I gotta deal with the fact that I’m going to die that night. She killed that role! Bravo!

The man could represent the “negative thought”.You can see how once she notices the “negative thought” everything else just goes out the window. The more she focuses on it, the more it overtakes her mind until eventually there is no more positive and nothing but a negative fate is sneaking up on her.
Saw a quick reaction vid on Tik Tok for this and that alone terrified me. The absolute level of discomfort this gave me almost instantly…my blood ran cold. I love all things spooky & scary. This was a different level of actual fear. I found myself instinctively wanting to cover my eyes. Just the small but powerful movements…made such an eerie yet massive impact. Well done. Ya got a girl hella spooked. 🤯😟
In my 48 years....this 4 minute short scared me more than any horror movie I’ve ever seen. I actually had to pause at the first glimpse of the guy and wait two days for my son to get home to watch the rest. I can’t even begin to tell you how this is going to haunt me. I’m not easily scared....this is what ruined me. I’ll never get that out of my head.
Just so you know the actor who plays the creepy dude is Atilla Akinci and he is one of the nicest and sweetest most gentle souls you could ever meet! We had a lot of giggles making this with him! Hope that helps!

No loud music or jump scare noises, you're literally in the moment with her. This is so realisticaly framed, simple, almost mundane, yet so scary BECAUSE of the realism. It's amazing.

No jump scares (thank god), no loud music, no over the top acting, bright light... and still (or mostly because of said things) one of the creepiest movies (be it short or full length) I have seen in the last months! Fantastic work all of you! Love the subtle and lifelike acting of all the characters, Tameka nails it. For someone that does not say one word, she succeeds that the viewer (me at least) worries about her more and more throughout the film. And god damn, this "man on the train" is creepy as it gets! Like I said before: fantastic work! Hollywood: watch and learn how it's done right!

I even knew he/it would appear in the reflection and still it was really creepy I also love the part where she looks at him/it multiple times. 3:20 is extremely unsettling for me; the guys face looks ALMOST normal. There’s a head, glasses, a nose, but you get the impression that he is grinning, grinning in some horrible, sadistic way. Such an amazing short film Edit: Actually zooming into his face? He is grinning, and you can see his eyes, it’s fucking terrifying dear lord it made this so much worse when I rewatched it.

This short is almost like playing a game of chicken with yourself. At like 3 minute mark I was ready to turn it off, at the 3:38 mark I was like really, REALLY ready to turn it off but saw there was less than 40 seconds left and I needed to know how it ended and I could physically feel my heart pound. Well done.
Okay, this was freaking awesome. I mean this took me to a new level of fear. I am thinking this man is a demon or something from the supernatural world. The train car was actually empty but this thing in the form of a man lured her into a false security, believing she was not alone and thus she would get comfortable and stay on the train. Right before her eyes the people were gone, because they never were there. There are so many possibilities that could have happened to her, wow. I am going to watch this way more than once. This is better than most full length horror movies. Amazing, all round great job. Well, this is my take on the film. You should win award for this.

I commute on a train, often when it’s a bit quiet, & this short lives rent-free in my head. It regularly haunts me. I think it’s so unsettling because she goes from the relative safety of other people on the train to suddenly alone with this demon dude. Really drives home that you’re never safe

This is probably not what this is about but this type of fear perfectly reminds me of the terror of being a woman ona train or in public where you’re completely alone and theres a man being creepy/following you/staring at you. This terror of having nowhere to go, of knowing youre supposed to be safe but you’re not and you know if he were to do something most likely people wouldnt react (or know). Just brilliant it can be interpreted in so many ways!
this was incredible! ive been watching horror films and productions all my life and have rarely felt genuinely disturbed and frightened prior to now. the acting and emotions conveyed were great keep up the good work!
That fear is so relatable. The kind of fear that can be caused by something else, coming from other types of assault. When it happens, you just can’t move and even if it’s in a public place, you feel alone.
I started to watch this before bed and had to stop at 2:53 because I was getting more scared than any horror movie makes me. Re-watched the full short first thing in the morning, good way to wake me right up!
I also think what makes this behaviour so creepy is that no one acts like that. Even if they want to be weird no one does that. Like we don't know how to react to this really bizzare behaviour. That is also what makes it so unsettling in my opinion. Idk if I explained that well.
I love this!!! I’ve always found that the scariest things in horror movies happen nonchalantly. No ceremony, no noise, just spooky shit happening. Fantastic job!!
The scariest shots for me are the ones where tons of tension has been built of before hand and then the camera forces us to slowly look at whatever it that the character hasn’t been wanting to look at. No jump scare. No nothing. Just feeling completely vulnerable and helpless. Bravo 👏
What i love about this short film is that its just 4 minutes long yet, in that short period it instantly gave me this eerie, unsettling feeling. Not like many horror movies where they just throw objects in to be 'scary', this short film alone made me scared to live alone

Very good but i would like to have seen more responses from her like a sharp intake of breath on one of her " glimpses " as the man creeps nearer, nice acting throughout but maybe a more impactful ending, like she stands up and the man has completely vanished from the coach, she sits down and slowly moves her head to look at her reflection and its his face on the outside staring back at her, that would have been even more unnerving, but youve done very well with this in such a short running time, i enjoyed it ! :)

Okay, this was freaking awesome. I mean this took me to a new level of fear. I am thinking this man is a demon or something from the supernatural world. The train car was actually empty but this thing in the form of a man lured her into a false security, believing she was not alone and thus she would get comfortable and stay on the train. Right before her eyes the people were gone, because they never were there. There are so many possibilities that could have happened to her, wow. I am going to watch this way more than once. This is better than most full length horror movies. Amazing, all round great job. Well, this is my take on the film. You should win award for this.
That's a great explanation. When writing it I just went from feeling and seemed scary that the passengers would just disappear. But your theory makes a lot of sense! So glad you enjoyed it! x

I commute on a train, often when it’s a bit quiet, & this short lives rent-free in my head. It regularly haunts me. I think it’s so unsettling because she goes from the relative safety of other people on the train to suddenly alone with this demon dude. Really drives home that you’re never safe
This genuinely caused me get chills, the best horror I’ve seen in years despite being so short!
This was so deeply unsettling that I had to stand up from my chair while I finished watching. I clenched my fists and shook out my arms. Absolutely incredible work.
This is probably not what this is about but this type of fear perfectly reminds me of the terror of being a woman ona train or in public where you’re completely alone and theres a man being creepy/following you/staring at you. This terror of having nowhere to go, of knowing youre supposed to be safe but you’re not and you know if he were to do something most likely people wouldnt react (or know). Just brilliant it can be interpreted in so many ways!
Love that small bit of establishing that the door next to her is locked. Gives it a more claustrophobic feel and gives her nowhere to run.
this was incredible! ive been watching horror films and productions all my life and have rarely felt genuinely disturbed and frightened prior to now. the acting and emotions conveyed were great keep up the good work!

short films are always somehow more terrifying than bigger films with an even bigger production team
That fear is so relatable. The kind of fear that can be caused by something else, coming from other types of assault. When it happens, you just can’t move and even if it’s in a public place, you feel alone.
I started to watch this before bed and had to stop at 2:53 because I was getting more scared than any horror movie makes me. Re-watched the full short first thing in the morning, good way to wake me right up!

I also think what makes this behaviour so creepy is that no one acts like that. Even if they want to be weird no one does that. Like we don't know how to react to this really bizzare behaviour. That is also what makes it so unsettling in my opinion. Idk if I explained that well.

When you have anxiety, then some weird guy watches you afar and even comes closer is a true fear of mine.
I love when people are able to be scary without using cheesy jump scares, this did a great job at that
She did such an incredible job in creating a genuinely scared/terrified feeling and the dude's movements were super creepy.
I love this!!! I’ve always found that the scariest things in horror movies happen nonchalantly. No ceremony, no noise, just spooky shit happening. Fantastic job!!
This was so incredibly done. Seriously such a great representation of you don’t need much to be very effectively scary! Great job!
The scariest shots for me are the ones where tons of tension has been built of before hand and then the camera forces us to slowly look at whatever it that the character hasn’t been wanting to look at. No jump scare. No nothing. Just feeling completely vulnerable and helpless. Bravo 👏
What i love about this short film is that its just 4 minutes long yet, in that short period it instantly gave me this eerie, unsettling feeling. Not like many horror movies where they just throw objects in to be 'scary', this short film alone made me scared to live alone

Very good but i would like to have seen more responses from her like a sharp intake of breath on one of her " glimpses " as the man creeps nearer, nice acting throughout but maybe a more impactful ending, like she stands up and the man has completely vanished from the coach, she sits down and slowly moves her head to look at her reflection and its his face on the outside staring back at her, that would have been even more unnerving, but youve done very well with this in such a short running time, i enjoyed it ! :)
