**SPOILERS** **SPOILERS** **SPOILERS** **SPOILERS** **SPOILERS** ---------------------------------------- Just for clarification on the rules of the monster, closing the front door would not stop the monster from getting in, as the monster inhabits the house itself. The bedroom is the only safe room in the house between 10:04pm to 8:13am, and as he made it into the bedroom and shut the door just in time, he would've been too late if he spent even half a second closing and locking the front door.
why did he even go home? just crash at someone else's place if it's a curse that he has to be there every night, then my god why leave the house anytime near that time. you got huge problems if that's the case fun short tho 5/7
So that room is the only safe place for Jack now, inside the house and outside, so he can’t just easily move or stay somewhere else. I also have it in my head that Jack has stayed in his house for months and his friend finally got him out of the house to a party, and Jack simply lost track of time, which sets up the short
So, he was already dead the moment he opened the door. Those few seconds when the entity did nothing while the door was opened were just it playing with him... Interesting. Really cool short!
And the fact that his supposed friend is yapping non-stop while his phone keeps ringing should have been a giant flashing neon sign that it wasn't really him.
He simply lost track of time at the party. I imagine he set an alarm on his phone well in advance to give him enough time to go home, but didn’t hear/feel it go off and was simply sucked into enjoying his time
I really liked this one. Good acting, fine colours, good camera work, storytelling provided by post-its, the story itself....you´re on the right way...
its crazy how the smaller subscribed channels have the more erier videos and scarier ones. Its hard to find you guys but ima have a hard time sleepin tonight
That's often the case with obscurity. Music, cinema, culture - the less people know about it, the more effort has to be done in order to be discovered.
Bro shouldn't have opened the door. He should've had messaged Jack as proof. Whatever is out there can mimic the sounds as it can observe from the outside what Jack is doing. But such an entity cannot logically send messages as the only defining characteristic from the movie is that it can imitate sounds of real life as a direct response of the person's actions, but never the things the person can do that's beyond the entity's control such as sending Jack a message and receiving it back, which is fully proof that it isn't Jack.
:: he seemed panicked about his friend potentially getting monstered to death and probably panic called him since it’s faster than texting if he was really out there.
That was fantastic. I sat on the edge of my seat the whole time and told him not to open the door, lol. Great short story, perfectly filmed, the music was wonderfully nerve-wracking and the monster wasn't the screaming thing with a thousand teeth that we see so often, but refreshingly different, but no less horrifying. Thanks for the great video!
He just really respects his friend’s privacy lol there is backstory as to why it can only be opened from the bedroom side during that time frame, but I will save that for a possible full length version
Love the part where its hands are revealed. Much scarier than it being like some generic monster hand, actually spooked me for a sec. Great stuff, keep it up
I give him points for outsmarting me, the viewer, with the phone trick. He lost some for not asking his friend to pick up the phone or acknowledge that its ringing, but I would still put this protagonist in the smarter half of the spectrum. Fantastic video! The shot of the hands at the end was enough to light my imagination on fire, I'm not sure if I would even WANT to see the full monster xD
Definitely among the better short horror films on TH-cam. Wish it could've been a bit longer though. A sequel that's more fleshed out on the rules and backstory of this entity would be cool to see.
This was absolutely fantastic. Terrific job! You really know what horror elements to implement in order keep the story true to the genre: sense of impending doom, ambiguity, blanks left to be answered, not revealing the face or nature of the entity (entities?). Please keep more like this coming! Subscribed.
Good job! Short and to the point, maintains the suspense and ever increasing feeling of dread. Entertaining and very effective.. Keep up what you're doing.
So, you can theoretically have a full on conversations with this creature every night? And I assume it never actually met his friend but still imitated him with knowledge of stuff like ongoing party? Can it imitate anyone? Like can you have a small talk with him being someone like Taylor Swift, Josef Stalin or even Harry Potter? That's a lot of questions popped in my mind after 5 min video. Great job, mate!
You did a lot here with simple elements. Very suspenseful and disturbing. I got really curious about the lore. Why 10:04? What is the entity like? I'd love to see a sequel.
There actually is lore, just can’t fit it all in a five minute short and wouldn’t want to give too much away in case I do a feature length version. But the reason for 10:04? Honestly just because it rhymes with “Shut the Door” 😅 might figure out an in-universe reason someday, but I sort of like that mystery, fear of the unknown
This was REALLY GOOD!!! And im a pretty rough "critic" of Short Horror Films. Most of them seem pretty lame. This one was particularly good!! Got my heart racing, thats for sure! And that's a good sign!!
So good! This is my interpretation of it. I think the guy was schizophrenic. He had been following the 10:04-8:13 rule for a few weeks when his buddy invited him to the party. Jack started thinking that the monster was in his head and he should probably go to the party. While Jack is at the party, he gets a funny feeling that the monster might be real and he should probably go home. That’s why his friend is still at the party and asking Jack where he went. Jack realizes that it’s not in his head and the monster is real, according to him. None of it was real and he probably went into a shocked state when the “monster” entered the room.
I really liked how the chanting was the real voice of the monster. You could subtly hear it in the background as the last doors closed. Makes sense that it's a bunch of people's souls fused together. Reminds me of Song of Horror a lot.
Watching this was an amazing experience. Not only the story, acting, and the pacing was great, but OH BOY THE COLOOORS!!! I absolutely love the colors and ambience.
I think him running through the house to get to the bedroom to shut the door before a certain time, and the name of the film kinda means the post-it notes are not needed. Great acting and neat story which holds together well. I'd like to know how long it's been going on for, did he get the house cheaply as the last people wanted to get out sharpish.
Well the monster has never had a conversation with Jack before, always only been sounds, and he’s been dealing with it for well over a year, but I get it 😅
A demon try to mimic his friend voice and trick him but his number 1 stupid mistake is left the front door open like why??? And why would you come back home knowing some entity is waiting for u

So, he was already dead the moment he opened the door. Those few seconds when the entity did nothing while the door was opened were just it playing with him... Interesting. Really cool short!
How did he come about figuring the exact times that are safe/dangerous? Just curious what kind of lore is behind that.
“The noises aren’t real” proceeds to listen to the noises
Fax like bro did you go to school?
Seriously, this video was terrible. So stupid and cliche. As well as the most obvious E ding possible lmao 😂
And opens the door while he’s calling the guy claiming to be outside it. Sorry - I don’t buy it.
Dude had all those post it notes but fell for it immediately lol
Dude is so dumb fr
tbh, those notes were exposition for the viewers :P
You know what I just realized. The bedroom door wasn't even locked.
When he goes to open it he doesn't twist the lock to unlock it.
@@TheScarletSlayer Those kind of locks work that way though. If you turn the handle from inside it unlocks automatically. It's only locked to outside.
@Xezlec is that actually a thing? I've never heard of that.
Seems like a serious safety hazard.
Bro folded under ZERO pressure
Dude is so dumb. I don't get how he reached adulthood
No, it was the highest pressure.
Nah f that, even if it was his friend sorry bro but your taking that L, I'm not opening the door 😂 so yeah he folded under zero pressure
@@timothylinkous6146 A lot of people don't understand the situation.
@@toweypat He wrote a sticky note saying he'll die if he opens the door, then five mins his bro says "let me in" and he just opens the door?!?!
That’s what you get when you ignore your post-it notes
🤣
Ooooooh! A bunch of hands! Scary.
Five minutes of me saying, "Noooooooo, don't do it. You idiot. Arrrrrrrggggghhhhh."
Great film!
I was going to say he was smart for calling his friend
Then he opened the door before his friend answered
YOU WERE SO CLOSE MAN 😂
And the fact that his supposed friend is yapping non-stop while his phone keeps ringing should have been a giant flashing neon sign that it wasn't really him.
:: I don’t think the house would have let his friend answer the phone until he opened the door. Basically a big FU. S’rude.
The real horror was Jack's time-management skills.
His résumé sucks 💀
If I were Jack, I wouldn't have enjoyed staying at that party until the very last minute, knowing what awaits me at home.
Or maybe never go home…
Everything about this film is just idiotic lmao
@@tbaxter07 Right? It has plot holes that you just can't ignore.
He simply lost track of time at the party. I imagine he set an alarm on his phone well in advance to give him enough time to go home, but didn’t hear/feel it go off and was simply sucked into enjoying his time
What plot holes?
You had ONE job!!!
Yup you had one job!!! Close the door do not open😡😂😂
All you had to do was keep the damn door locked cj
One fucking job !!!!
I don't even answer the phone when I don't feel like it. This dude opened his door when he knew he could be killed 😂
:: SO TRUE 😂
This is how to do a short film properly. It was simple but very well done and better than many horror movies out there.
Besides the MC being unrealistically stupid. Dude knew the rules
It's actually one of the most idiotic short films out there if you go into detail
The thing with ghosts knocking on doors always scares me. Like they are trying to mimic human behavior, it's so scary.
Have you experienced it before?
Jack was a very foolish boy.

Very true !
Why? Just lock your door at 10:04
Well I know who NOT to bring when the apocalypse comes
You can bring him if he runs slower than you
Finding this in my recommended and then looking over at my phone to see 10 04 was mind boggling.
Omg mid way through it was 08.13 when I watched 😊
@@issabradshaw2877 its 10:03:15 for me... i gotta go

Why not just say through the door "answer your phone and I'll let you in"

I really love the vision with this, especially that door shot. It so simple but so creative

Nothing he did was smart, he even left the front door open too
The front door has no bearing on the situation, only the door to his room
