they had to re-hash this whole thing during the documentary and they've said that it was painful to have to re-live it and get back into what mentality they were in back then. I think he probably shouldn't have used those words but he was probably still in the mindset of getting back into where he was 9 years ago.
Allie tried to interpret it in the best way possible. Would have preferred if she'd dug a little with "What do you mean?" It sounded like he meant because it didn't lead to a physical affair.
Just because people claim to be Christian doesn’t mean you have to give them a platform. Really hoping you acknowledge the awkwardness and obvious issues with this guy
My guess is Allie realized this during the interview. I hope no one gets upset with Allie for it as I don’t know she could have realized what it would turn into.
@@MsQ275 I definitely sympathize with your point. It was a judgment call and I certainly don’t assume that her motive was “for the likes.” I’m pretty cynical but that’s even too much for me. I wouldn’t have blamed her for NOT posting it, but she may have had reasons I’m not privy to for doing so. I can’t imagine the discussion she would’ve had to have with the wife in deciding not to air it. “Gee, I’m really sorry, but I simply felt like your husband came off really badly and in an untrustworthy way, so I’m not willing to air the interview.” Devastating. But I have a feeling that this woman is going to be devastated in the end, anyway.
@margiedenavarre7919 she never said she condoned their behavior. And I think it's good to highlight this couple. We can form our own opinions. I think that's a good thing. We can't only interview those you think exactly like us.
He revealed himself each time he said “it’s in the book”. This is not an interview where he is trying to be open and honest and use his platform to share his story of redemption and repentance. It’s a money grab.
I kinda felt the same way ..is he on heavy meds or something ? Absolutely no facial expression - almost hard to watch .. I do think he's sincere tho ...just maybe so hard to relive the story ?? They seem like a sweet couple I pray they make it in the yrs to come
I know we are not ones to judge a mans heart. Any marriage can be redeemed by God. But the language this man is using doesnt demonstrate that he understands the gravity of this situation. Instead of using biblical language like, "I sinned against my wife. I sinned against God. I broke our vows." he talks about disapointing ashley madison was for him. "Ashley madison failed me". How badly he needed attention. It seems as if he is still exploiting his wife's deepest pain for his own attention.
I agree with you. I want more assertive verbiage. More bold faith. Maybe this is something God is working on them right now in this season of their life.
Not saying your wrong, but the way I saw it was that he is just being honest. At that point he wasn't repented. He was still seeking women on the side. Repentance came after his encounter at church
So weird that the reason he fizzled off the site was because he wasn’t getting the attention he wanted and was disappointed that with all the women on the site they wouldn’t message him….not that he was convicted of his sin but he wasn’t getting the attention he wanted! And he only decided to tell his wife about it because there was a leak of information? This was really awkward to listen to.
Everybody loves judging people they don't know without having a clue how they would appear if they were sharing the most vulnerable experiences from their life.
it also was odd the way she looked at him and smiled when he said "and it was intriguing." The way he talks and expresses himslef is like teen that has done wrong and has a careless way.of saying sorry. I realize this is just perception so I could be totally wrong.
I saw a video they posted called Caught telling lies where they literally filmed themselves having a talk with their daughter about being dishonest on camera for millions of people to see. I’m having a really hard time having empathy for parents who film their children’s most intimate moments and mistakes for mass audiences to view.
Allie, this interview was a painstakingly awkward interview. I appreciate your persistence in pushing through that awkwardness. It’s a shame that they came to this interview and were unwilling to be open and genuine, there was like this sense of having to beg them to talk about what they came to talk about. But it seems like they came to this interview maybe in conflict and that’s what’s pouring through the screen idk but this was awkward
So true, I couldn’t believe they wouldn’t just tell their story, she kept having to ask for more! In the second half things started to flow more. But I was really cringing through the first half
If they share all the “juicy details” then you won’t buy the book….at least that’s what it felt lk to me. This seemed lk a typical book tour or pre-movie release interview where they can’t share to much because it will ruin the movie. I don’t think that was Allies intention but it definitely felt lk they were holding back.
I could see how maybe Sam was more reluctant to give details and was slow to answer, but I feel like Nia was very open and responsive to Allie. She came across to me as completely genuine and honest!
Even before getting into the details, it seemed like something was way off with him... His remorse doesn't seem genuine. He actually admits he would've been content for his wife to never know the truth. That is super disturbing and doesn't really show contrition or change of heart. Ultimately it is between him and the Lord.
I can’t put my finger on it but he seems bored answering any questions and just so fake. What is it with him holding on to his wife for dear life? He’s just very weird.
Right?! It sounds like he’s only “sorry” because no girls paid attention to him..this interview was weird. I wish Allie would have used a little better discernment here and not uploaded this.
I took it as, failed him because they guaranteed confidentiality. They also didn't actually delete accounts when people paid extra to be removed from database. (he was upset they let him down twice)
He said he was not a fully committed Christian… one foot in, one foot out… obviously believed in an intellectual way but did not have a relationship with God. There are lots of people like that. 🤷♀️
Sin takes you places you never plan on going. That is the very nature of sin. If you look at the data on how many people are addicted to pornography it is overwhelming. Calling someone weak for caving to sin is stating the obvious. If he was strong against sin he wouldn’t be sharing the story of his infidelity on Allie Beth. Jesus came for the sick not the healthy. They don’t call it being a slave to sin for nothing. Until you are a slave to Christ it doesn’t matter if you act good or act like a heathen, your lost and enslaved to your flesh.
💯. He doesn't think that documenting most of his children's lives and putting it on the internet for profit will ever have a negative effect on them. He also thinks that people who have fears about their children coming to harm those fears are unfounded.... has he never heard of the Duggar children or like any child actor?
I think the WEIRDEST argument they’re trying to make is that his creativity was stifled. My spouse took up target practice and I took up crochet.. we didn’t go have an affair😵💫 he just absolutely does not see what he did wrong, and she is in denial
Satan didn't destroy this marriage. Sam's flesh and him diving head first into his lusts destroyed this marriage. We give too much credit to Satan and too little credit of the strength of our flesh.
Something is off. Real off. People are saying in the chat he's just uncomfortable but he had a huge TH-cam following, they were on a Netflix documentary, he's pretty comfortable in front of the camera and speaking about this. I can't help but feel hes still hiding something or has continued in his behaviors..Red flags like crazy. I won't be surprised if someone doesn't pop up from this interview and reveal a relationship with him..
I agree. You know, it looks like he's almost trying to be nervous/ashamed and comfortable at the same time...with his arm around her comfortably looking at her a lot, but then also looking down and seemingly ashamed or nervous. But it feels...forced. Like the body language doesn't add up. There's also something about his eyes...I want the best for them and I hope he has changed, but this just feels odd to me.
@@faithhopelaratotally agree with you!!! And when they are confronted with the fact that people are getting weird vibes and narcissistic red flags about him, he & Nia call us haters. No, Sam. It’s called intuition and we all have it. And we all get the sense that you are NOT who you claim to be.
Biggest red flag for me? He’s still minimizing. The defensive way he reflexively says “several emotional affairs” as if that’s the extent of his deception. I would argue, from the very very limited knowledge I have, it appears he’s still not being forthright with the public. He doesn’t owe us anything, but if he’s going to say things, he can’t try to hide behind “less bad” language. It’s minimizing and it’s not a good sign.
@@kurtbradwill agreed…they BOTH minimized, both promoted their book based on sin, and probably need to get off the internet if they want to enjoy any true joy or redemption in our fathers eyes. So disappointed they were given this platform
He said he still struggles with looking for validation in other people… I wonder if anyone in their lives has advised them to get the heck off of social media. 🤔
I used to watch them as the first family vloggers I had ever seen. I found him creepy, and narcissistic, found the constant videoing of kids disturbing. Swore off family vlogs. Thereafter. I hate this industry and want people to stop doing this to their family and children.
@@AC-pu9rb that guy isn't even a Christian I hope you know that. I don't agree with family vlogging but that guy is so hateful and unChrist-like. (Dad challenge).
For some reason, my comment to check out the dad challenge podcast got deleted...strange! Josh on the DCP covers the whole 8 passengers' situation. I feel so bad for the kids!!
They'd only been married 2 or 3 years and he's already flirting with other people, cheating, and using Ashley Madison? This guy is a piece of work. 😳😳😳
Yea the dynamic is so off. I'm surprised Allie had them on and fed into this. This is a very strange relationship. There is a void they're filling with attention and likes that needs to be healed through Christ. This is deep. Not superficial and should not be blasted on social media. So unhealthy.
I thought the same. He strikes me as a narcissist. It's all about how he is in love with her, his excitement , how he is bored, etc. it's all about him. I'm a different way he reminds me of Chris Watts, the wife and kids are gonna and it's all how he feels, how he is. Very self centered.
They exploit their children for money. He’s not sorry for his sin, he’s sorry he got caught. I ‘feel’ she truly loves him and wanted the marriage to work and I ‘feel’ he is in the marriage for the money they make together. That is the vibe I get. Life became monotonous so he thought he’d have an affair..WOW
He uses words that don’t really show full acceptance of his sin. Things like, And then Ashley Madison came along…. Ashley Madison didn’t “come along.” He chose to open the site. He chose to click on the pictures. He chose to sign up. He chose to communicate with women. It didn’t just happen. And he doesn’t seem to be fully accepting and acknowledging that this was HIS action. Kinda like when someone says “I’m sorry if you feel hurt.” That’s not an apology at all. That’s not repentance. That’s excuses.
I watched another video that showed some clips from the documentary. One huge red flag for me is when he said it was “stupid” for him to have used his real name. It wasn’t stupid that he used the site just that he used his real name. To me, that says he’s sorry he got caught and not that he did it.
The poor guy was "stifled" because he was creative but had to work a regular job like regular people to support the family he chose to have. I have no sympathy.
When Allie asked him about telling Nia, he said he hoped she would “forgive me for this stupid website”…. He’s still blaming the website and not owning up to what he did
Here's why I think people are still thinking this guy is hiding something. This is a very hard thing to talk about, especially for public Christians. That being said, they went on Netflix and told their story and are now they're here telling their story. What feels off is that Allie is having to drag the information out of this man and forcefully guide the story and timeline. When he does respond he's vague and mumbling, giving just enough information. He still seems closed off. I turned my volume all the way up, as I'm moving around my kitchen, and I could hear Allie and Nia just fine. When Sam spoke I'd have to move right next to the phone and lean in to hear him. If you're going to tell your story then sit up straight, speak clearly and with purpose and tell it. If it's too difficult then don't do it. But, then it seems odd to do Netflix and a book, if it's too hard to talk about. Nia seemed very open and wanted to share more, but he's still giving off some strange withholding kind of energy. It makes me wonder if there was more to his cheating than he's saying. Which doesn't mean Nia doesn't know about it but maybe they're not telling us. In any case, I agree his presentation and behavior is really off.
Well said, I was thinking the same thing. Vlogging and doing a documentary is very different from having a direct interview about something of deep shame with a literal stranger. He seems very shady and withdrawn, but it could just be embarrassment, nerves, and shame.
now this comment I can back. This makes total sense! He's definitely mumbling and doesn't seem like he wants to talk about it which is weird considering he did Netflix and wrote a book. If you are truly repentant and out of that lifestyle and your marriage is reconciled, you should be proclaiming boldly how you lived in sin in your marriage and how God redeemed you. It seems as if he is still living in shame and condemnation.
He had an altar call “conversion,” but still didn’t feel any conviction or struggle to come clean about his past to his wife? When Allie asked if he struggled with telling her but fought it off, or was resolute to keep it secret forever, and he said resolute, I was surprised. A true conversion involves repentance and repentance includes confession to those you’ve sinned against. Red flag.
Allie. I love you. But 'this' interview? Ugh... This guy is so weird, it is painted all over him! He is HORRIBLE as an interviewee. And NOT like 'any' Christian man I've ever known. He does NOT seem repentant. AT.ALL!!! Praying for them! Especially their children!!🙏
Yes! I’m so glad everyone else sees it. The way he tries to down play it while taking no accountability. Is she that naive? Or that desperate to keep the false internet reality.
Yea. I can't believe she had this guy on. He's awful. This whole thing is awful on so many levels! And this was SO long ago! Not even relevant! Why did Allie choose to do this?
Making money off of something sinful is not Christian behavior. He got payed for the documentary and turned down other offers to make more. They are literally using his sin to be relatable again, since being a family vlogger is becoming unacceptable. These people need to get off the internet and go home.
He displays sociopathic/narcissistic features. I am a counselor and can identify these pathological traits in my sleep - you can feel that he's off in this interview, too. The harsh reality is that these people DO NOT change. Prayers for Nia and her children.
I almost stopped listening to the podcast but I started to find it amazing how this man’s lack of character revealed itself through his voice and choice of words. This guy is a masterclass on lack of conviction and integrity. The layers of betrayal and deceit in this marriage is stunning and quite sad. I agree with others that they both have a long way to go. Putting their mess up on social media and publishing is absolutely the wrong outlet to give their family any chance to heal, IMO.
My mom has dealt with my dad cheating physically, and the most recent time “emotionally,” multiple times in their 37 years of marriage. It has been really hurtful to her, and even to me, as their daughter who was dragged into the knowledge of the affairs from a young age. She has stayed with him each time. It is exhausting being a support system for someone who is going through that when you are really close to both people, and when the person going through the abuse and neglect continues to stay. I don’t know this couple, or how sincere they are, or their commitment to follow Christ, but I will right now pray for them and their children. That’s the best thing we can do for them, just pray and ask God to help them.
He Still thinks the fear of putting your family on the internet still is "unfounded "????? The Hubris is Large with this one. This woman should probably be ready for more heartache from this man.
She also said she had thoughts but he convinced her her thoughts were ‘unfounded’. I was like interesting use after what he said with the same word. Unfounded until caught. Shame.
Oh no, she seems sweet and holding onto hope but her husband isnt displaying the humiliy of a man with a changed, repentant heart- he seems like self preservation and justification is his goal. My heart hurts so much for her 💔 praying God gives her strength and discernment, and that he really does seek favor from the Lord instead of seeking favor on the Internet 🤦🏼♀️ I think some of that other 50% just sees the smoke.
I did not see what you see. You can tell that he really loves his wife. Every time she discusses something that hurts her, he presses his palm into her arm to let her know he supports her. My husband does the same thing.
I agree... I see it CLEARLY. Perhaps you can only detect full-blown narcissism after having suffered narcissistic abuse in a relationship or marriage. I've been in 2 of them, nearly lost my life. There is no mistaking that kind of behavior after you've suffered at the hand of a narcissist.
He seems emotionally or spiritually dead, or something. If their life was "boring"...I'm guessing he was a part of that. Hard to not fall asleep listening to him talk.
Yea, it's boring to me, too. And the Holy Spirit isn't boring. I don't follow Allie, but every time I've watched, I've been pulled in by what God was saying with the brothers/sisters she had on the show.
I'm sorry to have to say this. He doesn't seem sorry to God. He seems to be sorry for the consequence. He appears to be a narcissist. A Christian man (so unfulfilled taking care of people in emergency room because "he's a creative.") That was so cringe and telling. Both of them seem to crave and need attention! I knew he was "off" the minute he did the pregnancy test. She on the other hand is the perfect person for a narcissist. She has the idea of love mixed up. She worships this guy and appears to have very little self-esteem. Especially cringe is she's trying to be the PERFECT wife to the her idol. And, I'm not a feminist at all, but there is not an equal dynamic here. The way he is answering tells me this tale is not over. Sadly.
This man won’t even be honest about when his infidelity started in his marital relationship. (I predict it’s because he’s never been faithful, and probably doesn’t know what that really means). The codependency is so strong that his wife tried to bail him out by attempting to answer for him. It’s clear to see that this man isn’t willing to be honest or to truly repent. His wife is no saint for standing by him, she’s chained by codependence. I pray for freedom for them both.
Honestly, his awkwardness makes me think there's more to the story and more truth to come to light....so maybe this interview will be a catalyst for that.
Sorry, Allie Beth Stuckey, but I can't finish this episode. I feel icky for giving this guy more air time and exposure. The way he describes his motivations for sinning, his lack of conviction from the holy spirit, and the lack of honesty is really telling. My womenly intuition says he's really off. Also, there is so much that seems to be "in the book." Why is he making money on this?? Something is really wrong.
58:16 This statement seems quite ridiculous. She says it’s “frustrating to have to explain” things “about something they are so far beyond”. Girl… you chose to go on the Netflix documentary and open your story up to even more people, and now it’s like “ugh why do we have to keep going over this?” They wanted to go on there to bring attention to themselves and their story for publicity in some way, even calling it their “ministry”, but people having questions for you is frustrating? Give me a break.
Women, always remember that God has bigger, better plans for you than having to be traumatized and re-traumatized by staying with a cheating, betraying spouse. Stay strong, you are beautiful and loved!
What in the world?! This guy simply got caught! He doesn’t seem to truly care that he completely violated his marriage covenant multiple times! He shows no real remorse at all and seems to downplay it all. He’s a complete narcissist!! I feel bad for her and their children. 😔
Something is really wrong here. This guy says he HAD a need for attention (that was obviously selfish and pathological), so the solution is to give him a global outlet (many times over)? Gives me the ick. And I was married to this type for 11 years.
You woman, I saw your bad comments on their channel, just because you divorced your husband doesn't mean she should. She chose to follow God's principles and forgive. So leave them alone. They did what pleased God, even if some of you are weak, they trusted God to restore their relationship and God came through.
@@druscillahenry3224 you can’t stay married to the invisible man. He broke covenant many times and left. I was alone in my home with three kids 6 and under for two years. When he started emptying the bank accounts I got a legal separation and after one more year alone I file for divorce. To be clear, I didn’t tell her to sin and divorce. I just pointed out his odd behavior during this entire interview. “I was bored, so I cheated?” Huh? Nope.
@@jennesset1102 it will be nice if you answer these questions below...are you God, do you forgive sin, are you able to know what is in someone's heart by looking at them on the screen, if your answer is no to all those questions then who gives you the power over him, he has a past that God has clearly forgiven him according to scripture if he has repented. So why do you want him to stay condemned...are you satan...?because only satan is called the accuser of brethren in the bible. He is a forgiven brethren, why do you continue to remind him of his past sin....please...that is my point.
@@jennesset1102 you called him "this type"...let me tell you, saying that he gives you the ick does not make sense, his wife and family love him. You have refused to understand the concept of Devine forgiveness...let them be. It is between them and God not you.
I am so glad to see so many people are feeling the same way I do! This guy is not truly repentant and is trying to make himself look good. Started feeling off from the moment he started talking. Allie, you did a great job!
I think Allie strongly disagreed with the "there's unfounded fears comment" he made... but had to stay on topic so she chose not to rebuttle. What world is this guy living in? To put your kids on social media is frightening in the World we live in.... with pedophiles/sex trafficking. Protect your kids and be smart.
You can tell he thinks his opinion is superior to other’s. Just because he was not sexually abused or harmed doesn’t mean that doesn’t happen to children. Just in my own life I’ve had 4-5 people admit that they were sexually abused as children. It’s not uncommon unfortunately.
She chooses who she interviews. I am shocked she didn't catch this vibe before meeting them, so I certainly will not thank her. She did this to herself.
@@72586jejones Very off. And, I had second hand cringe/embarrassment for the wife the whole time... Mixed with pity. Maybe she will watch this back, or even read the comment thread and have an "a-ha" moment.
How can she say with certainty that he wasn’t sleeping with any of her friends? The only reason he confessed to anything was because he had to say something. I don’t believe that. I think he only confessed to as little as he thought he could get away with
I lived this story!!! But my ex full-blown cheated many times. No repentance. Unfortunately, we didn’t make it. He left with affair partner. Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy. My home has been redeemed, but it is a sad thing.
The comment section such as this lol I don’t mean to lol but psalms 2:4 he who sits in heavens laughs. I feel like s troll but I DO NOT MEAN TO BE AT ALL MY GOSH
Ashley Madison failed him, because no women were wanting to talk to him?? As a huge fan of Allie's interviews, my best guess is that Allie heard he was a Christian with a redemptive story. I imagine she didn't realize until interviewing them how everything about him screams, "not repentant!". However, i do wish the producers would have made a judgement call as to not air this. And to hear about them filming their kids for followers and money... Really makes me confused on the judgement of this one all around. 🤷🏽♀️
His heart attitude towards his work is sad. No repentance of his attitude that ultimately made him more susceptible to having an affair. We have all had jobs that we loathe. But if you're a christian you are called to work heartily as unto the Lord - and you can do that while actively looking for another job or outlet.
I believe that God can and does restore marriage after sin like this, but my instincts tell me something still isn’t right here. But at the same time I want to believe and hope for the best, and I know I don’t know this people in real life ♥️
I’m glad Allie pushed back on the topic of whether he would tell his wife or not. As a Christian, you should be convicted by your sin, and vowing to “never tell bc it would hurt her” is so wrong.
Exactly! Of course all sin is against God so we should confess to Him. But committing adultery is something you should also confess to your spouse regardless of what you think it will do! When he said that it really spoke volumes.
They've said before that they hate re-hashing it. They agreed with each other that the only time they'll go into detail about it is in the book, but they don't want to re-hash all the details every time and I respect that.
@riverthoughts2400 but it’s so confusing the way they went on multiple platforms to publicize this if they hate it so much, it almost seems (I don’t know their hearts so I can only say that it ‘seems’ that way) like they want more book buyers than privacy?
@@rachelpayne8497That’s so rude and a baseless accusation. Are you a Christian? You should pray about your heart posture and for the health of their marriage instead of slandering them online.
I have been in relationships with complete psychopaths who used this website. This guy is way off to me. When you’ve been through it, you know what you know. He loves the chase and it is very intriguing which questions were asked where he had this particular “smile” they have. The eyes…those too. Very telling. The validation this guy is seeking says a lot. To those commenting saying those of us who are “negative” aren’t remembering Christ’s redemption for us, I’d like to differentiate between knowing this and claiming this truth humbly over our lives and *also* feeling a stirring in our spirit something is not quite right here. These two things can co-exist. I will be praying for this couple. So so sad. 😢My heart goes out to them.
Adultery should NEVER be called "an affair". It seems to lessen the weight of what actually takes place when vows are broken; both vows between the couple and the Lord & also between the husband and wife themselves. This is the very reason why David was called "a man after Gods own heart". He acknowledged that he sinned against a holy God as well as acknowledging the consequence of that sin. He was broken, contrite & truly repentant over his sin of adultery & murder. Which unfortunately, does not seem to be the case here.
30 min in and I just cant. This is absolutely pathetic and she seems too nieve to even realize this Mans playing her still. May he seek help and come to true repentance for his abdication of his duties. 💔🙏🏻
When someone has been delivered it fills their spirit with enthusiasm and eagerness to share your transformation. Not discerning this with this couple. Very strange when he mentioned that he was most disappointed when he wasn't getting enough contact from women on Ashley Madison? Thought maybe he would discuss the conviction of the holy spirit? His realization that lust is not satisfying? Life as a nurse shouldn't be an excuse to drive someone to chronic infidelity. Very off. Seems like he is only content now that he no longer works at an unfulfilling career and now can make money from family videos? I also get narcissistic and opportunist vibes as well. Love Allie, can't finish this one....
AMEN! Most accurate comment I’ve seen from a biblical standpoint. Someone who has TRULY been set free and is walking with the Lord shares their faults and sins with ENTHUSIASM as a way to spread the hope of redemption! He did not seem so.
Three years into marriage, and he was bored. We are 33 years in, and neither have strayed. He definitely has issues. Praying for them and their children. Go private with your life and enjoy it.
Allie, we can tell you tried your best with this interview. I wonder why they agreed to do this interview if they weren’t willing to actually talk about the affairs etc?! There is something definitely off about him. I don’t think I can finish the episode. It feels so forced (not your fault 💛)
I agree. This guy seems so disingenuous. I fear she is blinded by him and is going to be very hurt by him. Adultery is the ultimate betrayal and the breaking of a covenant. He comes across as a narcissistic
First of all, protecting your children is “of the devil”? And speaking of protecting your children… Zero percent chance a good parent would ever put this stuff out there in public for their children to see some day. On a case by case basis, sharing a story in a confidential setting with adults in order to help is one thing. Monetizing your sin is another. All the no on this couple. Nerp. Not legit for so many reasons.
I was convicted and humbled by the Lord during this interview. Similarly, I had judgements about this man as I was watching but I also felt empathy towards this couple. Maybe something is off. Maybe something isn't. Maybe there are hidden things going on. Maybe there's not but I know I cannot judge on mere appearances (John 7:24). That's not righteous judgement. I also know that "For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things" (Romans 2:1). I hope that we're all examining ourselves as we type and cast judgements because even if we've never physically commited adultery. Have you in your heart? Whether their motives are pure or not, do you have pure motives in the decisions you're making right now? We all need the Lord daily to do what only He can do in us and through us by the Spirit He's given us. Be careful to examine yourself while you're typing in these comment sections because how you speak and treat other brothers and sisters in Christ is how you represent the One True King. That makes me tremble in a beautiful way with so much zeal to represent the Lord well. In my discerning I have to be "gentle towards everyone" (Titus 3:2) and remember how Jesus warned all of us that the measure you use to judge will be measured to you (Matthew 7:2). Opposing sin is not wrong. Discernment is not wrong but to throw around judgements so causually is really sad to see for the church as a whole. Don't forget that we were all once enemies of God and by the grace of God through faith in Jesus we have been saved from the wrath of God. We have a hope prepared for us too wonderful to even grasp or imagine. Before you type, pray for these individuals. Pray for their marriage. Pray for their children. Pray for their walk with the Lord. Whether you like them or not doesn't make it a difference. Jesus made it very clear to bless and pray for your enemies (Matthew 5:44). Whether I liked the interview or not, I rejoice that Allie had them on because it is by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of our testomonies that shows the world Christ (Revelations 12:11). I'm preaching to myself too here. May God strengthen all of us to lay down our lives and look more like Him.
If you research AM, it's 85% male, and the supposed 15% chicks are inactive accounts. So, millions of men looking for an easy hookup. No women. Men largely intentionally seek adultery. Women largely fall into it. Fascinating.
I like the way it was edited. They could have cut out some of the delays and awkwardness between the couple but they left it in. I think Allie’s showing us behind the curtain with these two. It’s an awkward interview but Allie is letting them reveal who they really are.
I didn't realize they were peddling the book when I started watching. I thought they were just trying to set the record straight. I see now they are trying to sell their book. Family vloggers disturb me. They are no exception. Heaven help their children.
lol honestly I read their book and it was pretty good. They communicate better in written form it seems... but yeah, I read the book, it made me cry, and it encouraged me to put Jesus as the number 1 person in my life, not anyone else, not even my spouse. Just my two cents.
My heart hurts for them both. To feel bored only *3 years* into marriage? To be TOLD your spouse is bored with you only *3 years* into marriage? Jezebels claws were (are?) deep in this one. This is one reason I personally advocate for a season of childlessness when you enter the season of marriage. You need to know your other half to such a depth that not 1 look he/she makes goes unnoticed, not 1 sigh goes ignored, not 1 mood dip goes undiscussed. Learn your spouse before you introduce children into the dynamic. 18:57 I cannot hide ANYTHING from my husband: the moment I have a mood dip, he is pulling me in for a hug and asking me what the source is. My husband tells me how he feels if I feel his palms and they are clammy. Like... I really dont understand how she merely had "suspicions of something feeling off" SISTER 😩 Your husband is hiding his phone and you didn't reach for it?? ... what i would speculate is, again, they introduced children before they truly knew each other. I cant imagine this type of naivety. Or maybe it was willful ignorance.
13:35 "... we got married, the novelty wore off. We had a child. She was pregnant again *giant eye roll* tchhh *exaggerated sigh* No excuse..." Excuse me, sir? This guy is a creep.
This interview was not intriguing at all. I cannot stand family vloggers. Healthy families keep their lives offline. The husband seemed disinterested the entire time. He saves lives as an er nurse and says its not creative enough. Society is screwed with people like him. Keep your pictures and videos to yourself and for your future self. We all need to stop being habitually online and think that people care about our everyday lives. Going viral means nothing, so it's irritating how people think that going viral means they need to be in the spotlight all the time.
Nia is really pretty, in an Olivia Wilde kind of way. This is proof that you can be beautiful and sweet, but if you’re married to someone with a proclivity to cheat, it doesn’t matter how good you are. They always want more.
We’ve seen examples of Christian couples where there’s infidelity and true repentance. You see both people grieved , the unfaithful one genuinely remorseful and full of humility over what they’ve done to their partner. They talk sincerely about their gratitude for what God has brought them through, and for forgiveness of sin. These people do not exude one ounce of this….
How would he know if those fears have come to fruition or not? People could be doing creepy things with the pictures and videos that they put online and he would have no idea. I think that’s kind of ignorant. Not trying to be rude or disrespectful, but I think a lot of people don’t understand how real of a threat certain things are even if it’s never happened to you.
He’s an idiot that only cares about himself! Not only are they creeps online but he is sharing his children’s privacy. They cannot consent to having their childhood online for the world to see. These two are delusional!
No many. Massages parlours, her friends etc. but claims he only slept with one and the rest he held hands and talked 🙄 he’s clearly not telling the full truth
"Ashley Madison failed me." That line said it all.
Yep. I thought the same thing... Sad.
they had to re-hash this whole thing during the documentary and they've said that it was painful to have to re-live it and get back into what mentality they were in back then. I think he probably shouldn't have used those words but he was probably still in the mindset of getting back into where he was 9 years ago.
Yes, that was so cringe.
Allie tried to interpret it in the best way possible. Would have preferred if she'd dug a little with "What do you mean?" It sounded like he meant because it didn't lead to a physical affair.
"Ashley Madison failed me" 😢
Nooooo, you failed yourself and your wife dude. What a thing to say in front of his wife as well. Strange takeaway.
The best thing they can do is get off of the internet

Just because people claim to be Christian doesn’t mean you have to give them a platform. Really hoping you acknowledge the awkwardness and obvious issues with this guy
My guess is Allie realized this during the interview. I hope no one gets upset with Allie for it as I don’t know she could have realized what it would turn into.
@@margiedenavarre7919yet she chose to post it.... doing it for the likes 🎉
Cultural Christianity vs Biblical Christianity.
You will see the fruit.
Well said!
What I thought exactly
This
He revealed himself each time he said “it’s in the book”. This is not an interview where he is trying to be open and honest and use his platform to share his story of redemption and repentance. It’s a money grab.
Capitalizing on his sin. Never mind the trauma & humiliation this will cause his kids for decades. He’s absolutely disgusting.
Yeah I think the first time they weren’t offered enough money. They are exploiting a trauma
This guy was disappointed in Ashley Madison because he wasn’t getting the responses he wanted. The way he said that was so off to me.
Agree 💯 I was like WHA??!!
Not sure what the point of this interview is but guy seems narcissistic and very creepy. My spider sense is tingling.
I think it’s because they’re strong so closely and he has his arm around her. Literally no one interviews like that. It’s totally fake.
Interesting observation. As a father of two daughters I wouldn't let this guy past from front step. Feel sorry for the wife.
I agree
I kinda felt the same way ..is he on heavy meds or something ? Absolutely no facial expression - almost hard to watch .. I do think he's sincere tho ...just maybe so hard to relive the story ?? They seem like a sweet couple I pray they make it in the yrs to come
@@thatsmynamesowhat2949once a cheater always a cheater ,
I know we are not ones to judge a mans heart.
Personally adultery is unforgettable I would never stay with someone after it
Not saying your wrong, but the way I saw it was that he is just being honest. At that point he wasn't repented. He was still seeking women on the side. Repentance came after his encounter at church
I thought the same thing.
Thanks for mentioning that; I thought it was odd, too! 🤔
This interview made me so uncomfortable. There is something very off about him. Praying over their family.
Seems like he is on something that is dulling him.
Everybody loves judging people they don't know without having a clue how they would appear if they were sharing the most vulnerable experiences from their life.
It’s definitely the flip flops with jeans 😮😂
Yes he is a few fries short of a Happy Meal that’s for sure.
it also was odd the way she looked at him and smiled when he said "and it was intriguing."
The way he talks and expresses himslef is like teen that has done wrong and has a careless way.of saying sorry.
THIS💯
yes, they could have just described it. No more kids henceforth on camera. Internet is forever.
Thank you. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

This is exactly what I was thinking too. He seemed annoyed by the questions and his answers were as short as possible.
I made it 15 minutes in and had to stop because he makes my skin crawl and the wife just looks depressed.
Ashley Madison failed him because there wasn’t enough girls giving him attention? Wtf
He sounded bitter about it still! Red flags all around. This man’s heart hasn’t changed, in my opinion.
Right?! It sounds like he’s only “sorry” because no girls paid attention to him..this interview was weird. I wish Allie would have used a little better discernment here and not uploaded this.
RIGHT?! It's like he expected to be FLOODED with HOT women wanting HIM and he didn't get that...AWWW
Google ratio of men to women on AM. It's nearly 100% men seeking an affair and next to zero women. It's a scam and a sociological study, really.
I took it as, failed him because they guaranteed confidentiality. They also didn't actually delete accounts when people paid extra to be removed from database. (he was upset they let him down twice)
Immediately your husband saw ‘life is short, have an affair’ and he was intrigued?? Weak man.
Lost man.
He said he was not a fully committed Christian… one foot in, one foot out… obviously believed in an intellectual way but did not have a relationship with God. There are lots of people like that. 🤷♀️
I don’t mean to LOL at this comment but lol
@@ndgrandma1818unfortunately, MOST people who claim to be Christians are like that. Nominal Christians have some of the worst, most abusive marriages.
There is something majorly off with this guy... currently.

I’m barely into this video and already picking up that vibe. Yikes
Probably not the easiest topic to talk about for him
Agree. He looks so put out and uncomfortable.

And I don’t think she will care either way as long as the book sells $$$

Biggest red flag for me? He’s still minimizing. The defensive way he reflexively says “several emotional affairs” as if that’s the extent of his deception. I would argue, from the very very limited knowledge I have, it appears he’s still not being forthright with the public. He doesn’t owe us anything, but if he’s going to say things, he can’t try to hide behind “less bad” language. It’s minimizing and it’s not a good sign.

@@CatsDontCareBoutUrFelines and the flip flops....😐👀
Same excuse as the Duggars for exploring their kids… for “ministry” 🙄
He uses words that don’t really show full acceptance of his sin.
Things like, And then Ashley Madison came along….
Ashley Madison didn’t “come along.” He chose to open the site. He chose to click on the pictures. He chose to sign up. He chose to communicate with women.
It didn’t just happen. And he doesn’t seem to be fully accepting and acknowledging that this was HIS action. Kinda like when someone says “I’m sorry if you feel hurt.” That’s not an apology at all.
That’s not repentance. That’s excuses.
Exactly
How about when he said “Ashley Madison really failed me”? Hmmm, come again?
@@InaraRosolen-tf2hc Yeah, like, huh? Is that your take away from the experience?
YES!!
I watched another video that showed some clips from the documentary. One huge red flag for me is when he said it was “stupid” for him to have used his real name. It wasn’t stupid that he used the site just that he used his real name. To me, that says he’s sorry he got caught and not that he did it.

When Allie asked him about telling Nia, he said he hoped she would “forgive me for this stupid website”…. He’s still blaming the website and not owning up to what he did
100% agree! He’s not taking accountability
He never took responsibility for his infidelity. The only reason anyone knows is because AM was hacked. This guy is a fraud

Yea. I can't believe she had this guy on. He's awful. This whole thing is awful on so many levels! And this was SO long ago! Not even relevant! Why did Allie choose to do this?

I almost stopped listening to the podcast but I started to find it amazing how this man’s lack of character revealed itself through his voice and choice of words. This guy is a masterclass on lack of conviction and integrity. The layers of betrayal and deceit in this marriage is stunning and quite sad. I agree with others that they both have a long way to go. Putting their mess up on social media and publishing is absolutely the wrong outlet to give their family any chance to heal, IMO.

Exactly. What is Allie thinking??
Sadly.
He mentioned the "book" frequently. I suspect the impetus for them coming on this show was to push the book.
She did too. They are in it together
So easy for people to talk when they’ve never gone through something like that.

Can we all take a moment to thank Allie for pushing through this awkward interview with a very weak and weird man? Allie, you're amazing.
She chooses who she interviews. I am shocked she didn't catch this vibe before meeting them, so I certainly will not thank her. She did this to herself.
@@72586jejones I totally see your point for sure. Do you agree though that maybe she didn't quite expect him to be so awkward and arrogant?
@@werethewilsons perhaps. Either way, I agree with you that this interview was super awkward. There is something very off about they guy.
@@72586jejones Very off. And, I had second hand cringe/embarrassment for the wife the whole time... Mixed with pity. Maybe she will watch this back, or even read the comment thread and have an "a-ha" moment.
The wife participates in this folly.
ABS really carried the team on this one.
When she said he started reading the Bible to the kids in front of her, I was like 😅 He is such a performative narcissist!
Spot on.
I felt the same way too.
I'm sorry that happened to you. At least you're better off now not being in that continued cycle
😥
I’m proud of you & LOVE YOU FOR SHARING
Family vloggers are exploiting their children for money. ☹️
She needs to speak on this topic
He said "i dont care go into detail about the physical affairs but you can read it in our book and watch the documentary" WTF
They've said before that they hate re-hashing it. They agreed with each other that the only time they'll go into detail about it is in the book, but they don't want to re-hash all the details every time and I respect that.
Why do an interview talking about a subject that you don't want to talk about?
@riverthoughts2400 but it’s so confusing the way they went on multiple platforms to publicize this if they hate it so much, it almost seems (I don’t know their hearts so I can only say that it ‘seems’ that way) like they want more book buyers than privacy?
Its real hard to like this guy... Seems like he is sooo lucky to have this lady as his wife and to stay by his side.
He’s not lucky. She’s quite hard to like too imo. They are two of a kind trying to promote their next $$$ venture
@@rachelpayne8497That’s so rude and a baseless accusation. Are you a Christian? You should pray about your heart posture and for the health of their marriage instead of slandering them online.
It's hard to like her too. Both show no respect to GOD, yet keep saying they Christians. Yikes.
@@brooke9131 I am Christian. If you find what I said offensive, check your own heart.
One of the hardest interviews to listen to for a number of reasons.
I can't even finish this interview. Something is off
Gosh, this is so awkward. That guy is very unsettled. I hope he’s okay in the end🙏🏼 he seems so beaten down.
Allie, we can tell you tried your best with this interview. I wonder why they agreed to do this interview if they weren’t willing to actually talk about the affairs etc?! There is something definitely off about him. I don’t think I can finish the episode. It feels so forced (not your fault 💛)
Their book
I got 6 mins into this interview and thought no. 😬 I love Allie, but no.
I agree. This guy seems so disingenuous. I fear she is blinded by him and is going to be very hurt by him. Adultery is the ultimate betrayal and the breaking of a covenant. He comes across as a narcissistic
The fact that his own brother called him out shows he has always been a guy like this.
First of all, protecting your children is “of the devil”? And speaking of protecting your children…
Zero percent chance a good parent would ever put this stuff out there in public for their children to see some day. On a case by case basis, sharing a story in a confidential setting with adults in order to help is one thing.
Monetizing your sin is another.
All the no on this couple. Nerp. Not legit for so many reasons.
Amen 🙏 so many here shaming just him and glorifying her. Both of them, their whole family need prayers for repentance.
This might be the most balanced, Biblical, well rounded comment yet.
Great comment ❤
I know this man did not just say AM was disappointing because the women didn’t reply and that’s why he quit. Be so for real
Same! I couldn't believe he said that!
If you research AM, it's 85% male, and the supposed 15% chicks are inactive accounts. So, millions of men looking for an easy hookup. No women. Men largely intentionally seek adultery. Women largely fall into it. Fascinating.
This interview was hard to watch. I was wondering if Allie was regretting having them on. There’s something off about it.
I felt the exact same way sister.
@@countchocula5379I think they are trying to sell a book and a special. It’s too bad she didn’t vet them a little more. I think they are using her.
I like the way it was edited. They could have cut out some of the delays and awkwardness between the couple but they left it in. I think Allie’s showing us behind the curtain with these two. It’s an awkward interview but Allie is letting them reveal who they really are.
The brother knew all along.
This.
"we had a great relationship besides what he was doing behind my back"

It’s not about “not having anything to hide” it’s about kids not being able to consent to broadcasting their lives to strangers!!
Okay. I am grossed out but how many times he dropped in "it's in the book".
She did too!
ALLIE, YOU DID AMAZING TRYING TO INTERVIEW THIS !!!! So proud of you for the persistency of trying to push for truth!!! Love you
My spirit does not take to this man. There is something very wrong. I pray for exposure, and a rightsizing of whatever is going on here.
13:35 "... we got married, the novelty wore off.
Going viral means nothing, so it's irritating how people think that going viral means they need to be in the spotlight all the time.
amen!
No kidding! Plus, their kids can't consent to having their childhood put on the internet. Even if there were no creeps out there.
@@Thats_a_lot_of_PotatoesThat’s true too! Man, as parents we have to fiercely protect our kids as we raise them up Biblically.
