Woof, I smell burning motor bearings and oil already.
Oddly this comment reminds me of Bloodborne There should have been an airplane in Yharnam
Being slightly late in destroying the tower meant that the German population got to hear Goerings speach interupted by the sounds of AA and bomb explosions which is a win in anyones book.
Which, funny enough, is what actually happened, the mosquitoes irl showed up 5 minutes into his speech
Truly epic and stunningly audacious mission. I genuinely hope you guys can do it. Time stamp 00:01.
I am similarly hoping that they use the radio broadcast recording at the time of the attack. Please please please.
Edit. Yes, very anti nazi!😊✡
It is nice to see you guys playing the War birds! , I know most of the time you're in jets etc, but Nice to see the older planes having their day, Great Movie!
"Your first way point will be Dieppe, easily identified by the burnt hulks of Churchill tanks, as well as the unmistakable stench of the results of a misunderstanding of the term "raid" and the necessity of a valid exfiltration plan for the successful outcome, thereof".
"I am the one with the moustasche"
"Hi, Gonzalez"
Gosh, I love the Grim Reapers 😂🤙
12:38 This is exactly the sort of quality content I watch GR videos for.
Seems a perfectly reasonable way of taking off to me.
If you join GR and make a mistake... Be absolutely sure Cap will include it In the video 😂. It's part of the fun. 😁😁
Agreed as always Tux
A pedant writes.... it's only the Champs Elysee between the Arc de Triomphe and the Place de la Concorde (which doesn't have a Concorde in it even now). On the NW side of the Arc, it's the Avenue de la Grande Armee. Sorry, can't help myself sometimes. Just so long as you fly down the biggest, widest avenue with a big arch in the middle, you'll get there.
Man, I wish I could fly with you guys! Y'all are awesome to watch and makes a dull workday very enjoyable! Keep it up :)
11:43 the engine sound is spot on: I had a Mustang fly over at low altitude and you can clearly hear the supercharger on that magnificent Merlin.
Mozzies, FTW. Well done support and strike elements. Very groovy.
When you guy's say QFE ( Question Field Elevation), I think you mean QNH (Question Nautical Height). Correct airfield QFE would give you a 0 ft indication and QNH would give you airfield elevation above sea level like you see at the start of the video.
The abbreviation comes from when they used morse code, hence the Q for question at the start.... I worked in Air Traffic for a few years 😄
Hell of a mission cap and the guys.
Agreed Salutations
"Man I got my elbow out the window smoking a cigar"
That right there is just perfect!
Hi is a great air to ground pilot.
Not that good hehe, working on it =)
Excellent flying and a wonderful video. Thanks!
I freakin love these. Great to see Sig, Jai, Damp and the boys too.. does anyone use, or even like the P-38?
Ty! I wish we had the P-38!!! I hope they make one!
This is the first time I've heard the hispanic guy in any of yalls videos but I like him. Knowledgeable, dependable, and skillful. Keep this dude around. Plus the accent makes me picture him sporting a pencil thin mustache and flying with the canopy open while wearing a leather aviator skullcap, aviation goggles and a scarf flapping in the wind 🤣
Would love to see some B-29 Superfortress models with the various shooting positions.
'Are there any distinguishing features of Dieppe?'
Yes, Canadian crosses!
Great job!
It is great to see you using the older stuff and using it well.
Suggestion; stick with that era for your alternate history stuff. Maybe even use some Japanese planes (Raiden if they have any) to do your spoiling attack at Leyte. A major factor in making Kurita turn back was the 300+ aircraft attacking him. There are others, like take MacArthur's Airforce at P.I. against Japan's bases on Formosa?
Enjoying this, thank you all. Carry on
Best Warbird mission ive flown! and FYI no joke my second Last name is Gonzalez =D hahaha
Sad my kids delayed my takeoff
Appreciated Hai.
Wow that was very nice. Enjoyed watching. Thanks.
Great video as always! Stop those evil nazis!
Wow ... never seen this sort of stuff before but couldnt stop watching .... really really cool... thanks soooo much for all that effort.
"I've got my elbow out the window and smoking a cigar!" Tear jerking loveliness.
and I'm, apparently, a racist for thinking that.
Goering does waffle.
Team get him 😊
Thanks for the daily fix.
great fun - thanks guys - cheers
Excellent mission, well executed. I reckon I could get a mozzie to the target, but not at that altitude across country.
That was fun to watch 😃
nice group!
love the communication part of such missions/games
That was FRIGGIN AWESOME!!!
I recall reading a similar story in a Battle Comic years ago, with Mosquitoes in two teams, one doing a low-level bombing, the other a shallow-dive bombing approach. This is great!
great job,i enjoyed that very much, well done all
ooOO twenty big ones! Thanks Stevie!
A nice addition to the debrief might be to drink a shot of whisky (or your prefered high volume alcohol) for every pilot shot down at the end of the mission... maybe a bit of auld lang syne for the fallen heroes. Excellent vid as always Cap.
Oh I did indeed. 🍷
Great mission. Very entertaining.
This should be good ❤
Lovely mission, just lovely.
I do enjoy watching the warbirds and with that said MAYBE THE REAPERS COULD DO WARBIRD WEDNESDAYS (HINT)
Is there a reason for taking off in the cornfield alongside a perfectly serviceable prepared runway? Perhaps using that runway it might have prevented the plane crashing on some pothole?
I would like to see a Combined Arms attack against a carrier/carrier group. Have the fleet parked in a fjord or bay, and have at it.
When you loose half of the formation before even someone had the chance to shoot.
hey cap I really like the big navy battles! I saw a video from a while ago about a china carrier strike group and the YJ-12 against San Diego, so maybe if you want to try an updated version of that? Or another idea could be about how there were recently tensions with Chinese and Russian joint ships around alaska and i believe 4 US destroyers we’re sent as a deterrent. I’m curious what would happen if china and russia tried to strike a navy base or airfield in Alaska. Anyway keep up the great work!
Roger will try.
This video has made me go and get the Normandy map. I also got the WW2 Asset Pack, the P-51D and the Spitfire. Mosquito is next. Let the games begin!
At 1:10 I mistakenly heard “Attack the fafaFAFAF…..” I thought he was having a stroke…. 😦🤣 Man im going deaf.😔
One thing I’ve noticed with Grim Reapers crashing when they take off is that a lot of it can be attributed to the rudder sensitivity settings. It may be worth finding the best settings for each warbird plane and briefing it out. It will make for a lot less crashes taking off (assuming rudder pedals are being used)
And also not following proper takeoff procedure. The tailwheel should be locked on the P51 and control should be done with rudder and toe braking should not be attempted.
And staying on the runway helps. Sheepishly hangs head.
@@Firedad376 the Grim Reapers people who are in the video are of mixed skill levels and the less experienced players, particularly with prop planes, don’t necessarily know how easily they can pull to one side when taking off. Lowering the sensitivity settings of their rudder would help I think
@@rubiconnn good point about the wheel locking
@@Firedad376 the problem with a poor rudder sensitivity settings is on takeoff, if you get drift, trying to compensate for it almost becomes a form of player induced oscillation
Jean has a long moose tash. The chair is against the wall.

*Price is Right losing horn sounds.
Friggin good gun kill Cap, and great comms whilst doing it. Really good comms all the 5's.
Nice take off from the Seven Sisters nr Eastbourne. Local to me.
CAP I didn't know you still Streamed your Videos, how can I get that set-up. I swear someone on your team told me that you didn't Live Stream anymore cause of people stealing your videos. But I would love to know how I can get on your Live Streams. Thanks! Great video so far by the way....
He streams multiplayer missions one or two days a week on twitch.tv - search for grimreaperscap
He streams the GR missions, but not the wargames anymore. It'll be on Twitch
Watch GrimReapersCap with me on Twitch! www.twitch.tv/grimreaperscap?sr=a
noticed a small issue on take off in this vid
Just a tiny bit firey.
Weren't the Mosquitoes made of wood and stripped of defense.....also potentially low observability to the periods radar?
A nice return to the GR tradition of crashing on take-off, well done..........
This... But with Gen 1 jet fighters on both sides.
Drop a Tallboy on the place
Can't wait to have Berlin map
Never set your gyro compass on the ground. Set it once airborne otherwise it will be off by up to 20 degrees!
Yup was off.
Love the ww11 fights
2 crashed leaving, 2 crashed coming back😂😂😂
Something to be said for driving straight though the most obvious FLAK nest within 40+ miles, at low altitude no less!
I don't know if it would make a good video????
BUT you should try and copy the mission the Mosquitoes really did on the 30th January 1943 - Mossies put the kibosh on Herrs Göering & Goebbels speaking in Berlin. it involved two separate flights leaving the UK at different times to drop bombs to stop there speeches and they arrived on TIME and they only lost one aircraft and it's crew respects to Squadron Leader D.F. Darling and his Navigator Flying Officer William Wright
I have good news and I have bad news. The good news is YTube tossed an advert. in during the mission. So, not demonitized? The bad news is the loss of 2 - 3 aircraft from Cap's flight on landing. First landers keep going! 😁
This is TGS
Only two Mustangs died on takeoff? Y'all getting better
^^^
Switch wing tanks guys! XD
Does anyone know how to open taxpayer UI?
Plz do India full navy vs Chinese full navy 😁
Cap you set a QFE on your pressure altimeter to give a reading of 360ft........thats fundamentally wrong! setting a QFE upon take off SHOULD show zero on a pressure altimeter....... you set QNH...(if that was the elevation of your aircraft at the time of setting)
+1
Im assuming you crashed the party haha
I might be becoming Buddhist. Seem to be quietly chanting: Airspeed, Altitute, Brains.
"...we have a guy on the far right" - No guys, think that's the baddies on the ground 😂
Ref Open Canopy - Well the Mexicans did have the First dogfight! Well technically they were Americans and aimed to miss each other but the point stands
Would love to see you beautiful humans team up with growling sidewinder and longshot. That would be quite funny.
اللهم صل على محمد وال محمد
It's pronounced 'shed-ule' in British English NOT 'sked-ule'.
You know, I would become a sub and give likes and maybe support more if these freaking videos had more editing maybe a better cut up with good bits not hours of boring. 4th vid I find unbearable. Only 20 mins worth watching.
