In an interview Henry Cavill explained that sometimes it was simply not possible to have the cape do what it was visually supposed to do and sometimes it made moving the way Henry Cavill was supposed to move impossible as well. In those instances the cape was added in post production.🌬🤩

I regret not liking this movie the first time I watched it. I remember thinking that it was too dark and not light hearted. Just recently I realised how great this movie is. Truly, a masterpiece.
The films intention was to depict a realistic Superman as if he existed in our world. Not a fantasy/Disney type strategy. This simple thing is what the majority fail to understand hence the criticism.
Don't feel bad we were being conditioned by the critics who were being paid by the marvel machine anyone says differently they are being disingenuous or intellectually dishonest at best. DC never had a chance in the mid to late 2000s because marvel had alot of power especially when it came to rotten tomatoes and the so called word of mouth in Hollywood. The truth is this film was fantastic but Kevin fiege needs to be called out everyone knew that guy was having critics bomb DC films. Just look up Kevin's association with Warner Bros studios you'll see why the real reason they killed Zack Snyders justice league film and who was instrumental in having josh weddon destroy his vision

0:45 kinda scary how Cavill looks like Superman just came out of the page of a comic book. He was a really good casting for Superman, it's truly a shame WB didn't try to build off of MoS and really let Henry go to extreme depths with the character. Hopefully they'll make another Superman film before I get too old!!! Probably will have 10 more Batman films before then.
Well, they were going to let Henry go to extreme depths with a tyrant Superman in the Knightmare sequences in BvS and Justice League, but the WB were afraid of scaring the kids and bloggers so they settle for a boring version of the character after butchering Justice League.

Christopher Reeve was, and always will be Superman and Clark Kent. Brandon Routh played a pitch perfect Clark Kent and Cavill was awesome as Superman but at the end of the day, anyone playing this character is trying to be Chris Reeve playing Superman. Way it should be.

I still don't get why this movie didn't make at least $1.5 Billion in the box office, it's a masterpiece like no other
It was still a big success. It made somewhere between $600 and $700 million worldwide.
It came out at the worst time possible:
- It was perceived as the start of the DCEU, which most people tend to compare to the MCU and therefore has some elitism feelings towards it
- The MCU just hit their all-time high notes with the success of The Avengers in 2012, a movie that was alot more colorful and light hearted compared to this movie, setting a standard that this movie never even planned to try to achieve
- It was the first DC movie after the Dark Knight Triology has ended. People's expectation was at least as high as any other Christopher Nolan mpvie that they're grown acustomed with
that's because the mcu has covinced people that that billion dollar mark is THE metric for success, regardless of budget. not every film needs to make that kindof profit

When this film came out I was so excited at the idea of having a superman we’d see in multiple solo films, fight villains in space, and having a superman that looked like he’d been taken straight from the comics. Knowing now Henry only got one solo film is criminal

Knowing that was the last time father and son spoke face to face, it was good that Jor-El ended it with words of inspiring Kal-El to save the humans instead of saving Krypton.

Hardcore fan here. BvS is decent. Kinda Prequel to the another Masterpiece Justice League Snyder's vision. Not Joss Whedon's Russia cut. BvS leaned towards more Religion and darker Cinematography, which is pretty good i mean, you can rewatch BvS scenes, like several times without getting bored.
Entitled to your opinion but it doesnt have Superman's or Jonathan's characterisation correct at all.
The morals, values and personality are wrong thats why i dont like it.
Saying that, once they changed that in Justice League, Henry Cavill became a very good Superman.

Hands down! Zach Snyder's "Man of Steel" is the best Superman movie I have seen in my life thus far! This movie is absolutely phenomenal in my opinion! I find the story, scientific concepts, philosophical ideas, acting, directing, music, cinematography and visual effects to be just powerful! It is definitely one of my favorite movies. I would even say it is one of the top ten films so far from the 2010s decade, along with "Cloud Atlas", "Les Miserables", "Coriolanus", "The Great Gatsby", "Exodus: Gods and Kings" and "12 Years A Slave".

Marvel fan and the things I most liked about the movie is the theme, and the shots that Zack Synder did, I mean man wow, the shot at 0:40 is amazing, Superman looks so majestic with his cape an all and mixed with the soundtrack it’s a masterpiece
Snyder gave DC a god-like feeling in his films, that is something Marvel never achieved, so to me, that filmmaker could do anything to give us powerful JL part 2-3-4 man… what a shame he’s gone, he was the one who could just give dc his true legacy.

I vividly remember this scene standing out to me the most when I first saw this in the movie theatre. It was such a powerful, emotional, and epic scene. This one scene gives true meaning to the phrase "superhero" as Kal-El urgently rushes to save Lois with Hans Zimmer's powerful and heroic musical score going along with him.

So many emotions go through me when I watch this scene. I think about my father, who now has dementia, and the advice he gave me while I was a young man. I think about my fiancee, who I will be marrying in a few months, and how I'll always be there for her so she feels safe and secure in our love. And I think about myself, about the man I am becoming so I can be a positive force of good for my family and hopefully my fellow human. I adore this scene.

D.C and Marvel are two different kettles of fish, Superman and WW is a god entering the ordinary world, Captain America and Iron Man are the ordinary man entering the extraordinary world.
This is without a doubt one of my favourite superhero movies of all time.
