Composed by Felix Mendelssohn Overture to "Fingal's Cave Overture to "Coriolan" by Ludwig van Beethoven Overture to "Coriolan Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra Conductor: Otto Klemperer Recorded live at Hercules Saal, Munich, 1969 *This 1969 performance is so legendary that a street in Munich is named "Otto Klempererstrasse". The program was Beethoven and Mendelssohn; Klemperer was quite compatible with the Bavarian Symphony Orchestra, including Mahler's Resurrection Symphony in '65, Bruckner's Romantic and Schubert's Unfinished Symphony in '66. Of these, their last collaboration in 1969 is still talked about today as a masterful performance. Enjoy the tremendously long-breathed phrasing, the strong Dunamik, and the mysterious beauty of the hall's reverberations created by the General Paussee.
Thank you for uploading many Klemperer's legendary recordings. Could you please also make all the relevant information in English so your uploads will be more accessible to non-Japanese fans? Thank you.

Thank you so much with these very useful information.
Sorry. It is not Coriolan overture but Mendelssohn "Fingal's cave"
I apologize. I din't relize that both pieces are in this recording.

this reminds us why Klemperer is among the top-tiered conductors of the 20th century.
Gorgeous! Stunning!
Klemperer's reading of Fingal's Cave is typically different and equally typically marvelous. Arigato!
Many thanks for uploading such marvelous and distinctive performances in such terrific sound.

Thank you.
The Klemperer Magic! Typically interesting and his usual lento tempo (also great acoustics!)
por favor...traducir...!!!
