Moto America you guys are blowing it! I cant remember when a series had this much interest. Start showcasing this class and put some dam marketing behind it! This is a unique class to north America "own it".
@Car&Track7 That’s the approach they have had for years and look at the state of American road racing! To say it’s on life support would be putting it nicely! This class is the nascar of 30 years ago when people cared to watched it before the bean counters killed the sport!
As badass as this is on TV, it's even crazier seeing them do it in person. My dad and I were hanging out on turn 6 outside for this race. Holy shit they manhandle these things!
I would love to see more brands aside from Indian v Harley. Yamaha Star Eluder, Moto Guzzi MGX-21, Kawasaki Vaquero, Indian Chieftain. Until then Indian came in and has shown it can make a bike to win and HD really has to get a good rider and a lot of money into a bike to beat them. At least, that is my take away from it all.

I'm curious Road America MotoAmerica was being advertised as an event to check out at the local dealerships because I've never seen a turnout from the Harley crowd before. I'm no hater. I like to talk motorcycles with anyone that rides one--Harley or otherwise. I thought it was awesome. And yes, you're right. Expand this series. It's an absolute crowd favorite, and it's an inexpensive way to get Harley/Indian/etc into a motorcycle road racing weekend without having something to actually compete in the primary series.
Matt Tries, at first they had 5 races on the schedule. I was planning on going to the one in Pittsburgh in Sept., but the last two were cancelled. I have a Challenger and it freaks me out to see them hit the curves at such a steep angle. Love to see it live. Hope they run the series for years!

It's a blast to watch these guys push these machines! I'm most hoping it will reinvigorate the engineering and performance parts innovation for American manufacturers in a much needed way.
I am a harley guy..but we need to see other cruisers as well BMW has a good cruiser...love to see the Honda Gold-wing..this should be ALL baggers race it would make it sooo much fun.
This class is only large displacement V-Twins, otherwise I'm sure there would be other brands here, especially considering how many metric brands have been trying to make a bagger to compete with HD. I give it another year or two, and I'm sure there will be classes with brands from all around the globe. I can't wait to see how big this grows! The whole concept has matured a LOT even in the short time it's been around! So good!
Oh yeah perfect, I just needed to become addicted to this class as well. I'm not sure that my social life here in italy will benefit from it. Thanks MotoAmerica to make great contents and my life weirder. F love it tho. Pure racing.

Harley's and Indians can not compete with other companies it would be em-bare-ass-ing and hurt their sales ! that is why you never see them compete with other companies ! they weigh so much that horse power is taken away by the weight ! even though metrics are dogged ( intentional bad tuning )out by law so that Harley and Indian can compete with the metrics !
Made great strides since last year. I think Indian surprised them with last years run. Didnt happen this time. Kudos to Harley, This battle should heat up pretty good.
I mean they basically do that and continue to make them better. You take a stock car and bike and keep making them faster and faster until you end up with an F1 car and Motogp bikes.
How are these "real world bikes"? Nevermind the fact these bikes are tunned to perform in a way that a street legal equivalent can't, baggers aren't cheap. With base prices around 23k, they aren't unattainable, but you aren't going to see a college student or someone who works a basic 9 - 5 riding around on one... So again, what exactly makes these real world bikes?
Nobody would be amazed.... a 600 sport bike would beat them every time. But this is bagger against bagger.... it's class racing. Enjoy it, but realize that these tanks are not all that fast.

@@wwb7091 1:30s - 1:40s I believe at laguna.. these are 130 hp 150ft lbs baggers that are weight stripped to about 550 pounds. A little heavier and a little les power than a sport bike. So slightly slower lap times. But crazy fast for a harley

Was at turn 5 when the “Indian” broke. A puff of smoke and then a very loud clanking sound as it went straight ahead and then coasted to a stop off the track.
Makes you wonder why it took so long for the concept to become a reality. Win on Sunday; Sell on Monday!! Baggers epitomize that concept, and they are fun as hell to watch. Plus, now people are thinking even more about how to make stock baggers lighter and faster.
BMW AND HONDA in this series? I don’t think so! The boxer and the flat horizontally opposed six from Honda would never survive the curves! They would be throwing pistons and connecting rods all over the track attempting to take those things around road racing curves!
The factories need to pay attention to how these bikes are built, and sell a street version! Something that will turn and stop! That is why I have never purchased a Harley!
It only took them getting a damn good rider and sinking a shit ton of money into it to get it to win. Oh, and luck that Tyler broke down. Still, I give credit to the riders and not the bikes. I bet if they swapped bikes for a day you could not tell the difference.

King of the baggers the fastest lap was 2:27 Supersport slowest "fast lap" (The slowest "Fastest lap" for a single rider) was 2:33 King of the baggers slowest "fast lap" was 2:57 HONOS Superbike was 2:11 and 2:20 respectively
Can you invite the rest of the other brands to compete to find the real king of the baggers. BMW, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Moto Guzzi, Suzuki, ETC. Thats the only way to tell who the real king is.
An Open Class would be outstanding. I suppose that would be up to the race sponsors, and I am guessing H-D and Indian are primary sponsors. Hell, get BMW. Honda, Kaw, etc., on as sponsors and you will see them racing pretty soon.

They are far from the road junk they put out, "highly modified" means everything, a stock road bike couldn't cut it....and they still blew up LOL.
If you dig into the particulars, you will find that the frame is the ONLY stock part on these bikes.
