Why did you add the new wood in between and screw them together? My floor seems weak and the wood pieces move a lot and there is more foam than support in the area I am trying to fix and trying to figure out how to do it. thanks in advance!
Oh goodness, I really needed this. The rest of these videos are for men talking men lingo lol I am so lost and overwhelmed, I bought a mess and am going to fix it up while living in it. I am about to buy a mini circular saw to cut my wood with and I am lost again don't know which one to buy. DO you have any idea I can't afford a lot of money?
Hey same girl. My used camper smells like wet socks. Ripping up carpet and praying for a miracle. Any hardware store should be able to give you suggestions on tools and pricing
@Linda Berry not sure if I'm too late on this or not but for this kind of stuff, you can use ryobi tools (saws) they're readily available at home depot, very well priced and they hold up really well. Hope this helps.
Excellent video, getting ready to do this as we speak on my new camper to me that didn't need any work LOL. If you have any roof repair videos I'll watch them too
Love your videos…but have a question. I have my first camper with severe water damage at the wall/floor junction. In your video, you only had damage to the wall. Any videos or instructions for how to repair the joist and all the layers under? Having a hard time finding what exactly is supposed to be under the subfloor! Metal? Membrane? Insulation? In what order?!
Oh no! I have a better video (repairing water damage in 6 east steps) that’s WAY better than this one. Give it a watch and hopefully it’ll boost your confidence a bit! Always feel free to email or message on IG with questions/pictures, I’m happy to help!
Hey! Every camper is different, but mostly it’s a structural frame with a decorative face frame stapled to the front. You take the whole front off, and then the 1/8 inch paneling on the inside of the cabinets, and there will be screws to the wall and ceiling. If you need help, send me some pictures on Instagram or to my email (hrfallen0616@gmail.com) and I’ll help you out!
@@gabrielutasiI agree, use plywood when you can, it is more structurally stable with heat and humidity. It will rot at about the same rate as OSB with a leak. If I do a full floor then use marine plywood, glue and screw.
Sorry. This is an old video. I’d like to think I have gotten better since then, but it’s still a struggle. Public speaking wasn’t something I was taught, so I’m learning it as an adult. My kids are homeschooled, and this is one area where I’m making sure they are prepared and educated for when they grow up.
Thank you for your videos. I’m using them to show my daughter that she can do anything…including helping dad fix up our old camper.
This makes my heart so happy! Exactly how I learned all that I know-working alongside my dad and learning from the best! 🖤🖤🖤
this is a huge help. makes it seem like a smaller job than it actually
Thank you so much watching you as a woman gives me more confidence. ❤️
I know right. I do reno for work and she is way better and faster than me.
Impressive young lady!!

How did you attach the support piece to the wall side?

This video is really old and the audio kind of sucks. Check out the demo series, lots of good content and repair there!
@@fallenintocamping will do thanks
Thanks for this informative video.
Awesome video good skills!! Better then me lol have some soft spots I need to fix
I have a soft spot that runs under an interior wall. Got a vid showing how this is dealt with? I appreciate your vid very much!
Just filmed this today! Hoping to finish the repair process and post tomorrow!
What tool did you use to cut the floor? Tight spot.
This video is really old so I don’t quite remember but I’m sure it was an oscillating multi tool 😂
I have a bumper pull camper with water damage from ac unit down hallway on wall floor bedroom ceiling and floor

I have another video called ‘6 steps to repair water damage’ which goes through walls, floors, ceiling and roof repair! It a bit lengthy but worth it!
I have water leaking in the master and some leaking in the dining area. I’m scared to gut it 😖

How did you remove the cabinets?

@@fallenintocamping omg thank you I am about to start a massive project and I'm overwhelmed so I will definitely be messaging you
Thank, you for sharing
Thanks for all the info. We have some soft spots in our travel trailer and I'm terrified of how to even fix it.😬😫
Haha you’ll do great! I’ve got an even better video (6 steps to repairing water damage) that might help too. It’s a bit lengthy but worth it!
Thanks!! I will definitely be checking it out!:)
Never osb thats probably why your fixing it.Treated plywood
It was actually plywood that rotted, and I replaced it with OSB. Honestly, the material doesn’t matter as long as your camper doesn’t leak.
