    Followed this video step by step, only thing I would change is line up the filter INSIDE first then screw oil filter housing cap on lastly - done exact same process as video and oil pressure light came on due to filter not being lined up correctly due to firing it into the housing and just screwing it on.

      Admittedly I have had this happen before so sorry this video is before I had that issue. Thanks for sharing your experience, I’ll pin the comment at the top if possible.

    When changing the oil filter I lift out the entire airbox. It’s easily done and gives a lot more room to work at the filter, especially when replacing the oil filter cap.

    Really clear video cheers dude! Also kudos on the SW opening crawl style at the end. Long live the empire

    Very handy, the one I worked on had slightly different airbox to turbo hoses but with them out of the way the job was doable.
    I noticed that the camera panned away when it came to getting the old filter cartridge out of the cap. It is held in place by a felt washer in the cap and can be very tight to pull off.
    One tip for the reassembly........Put the new cartridge into the filter body not the cap, that way it is much easier to line up the small spigot on the cartridge with the hole in the filter housing. If you fit it into the cap it is possible to get it back together with the spigot out of place. I did this yesterday and had low oil pressure that I couldn't understand as the pressure was fine before the oil change. I thought it through and decided that the most logical thing was the cartridge in wrongly. Took it apart and sure enough it was bent back where it hadn't seated properly. New filter in and all sorted.

    It seems that when you put the filter back on, it wasn't on the correct threads ?? was it ?? as I thought I was threaded , maybe just camera angle , great video and thanks , helps me a lot now 👍🏻🙏😊

    You didn't show you have to line up the filter bypass valve with the corresponding hole in the housing. Not good

    Which oil do you recommend? Motorcraft 5w-30 A5/B5 spec wss-m2c913-c? I found that people sometimes use other like Castrol edge 5w-30 LL (gold) or Castrol magnatec (green). What do you think about oils? Nice video, but try to change sealer earlier next time, before you put new filter. During sealer change, you touched yellow filter and marked it on black.

    • @IAMASPANNER
      @IAMASPANNER  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Mateusz, I usually just use 5w30 C3 rated oil in everything that will take it. I don’t have a preference on brand, I’d rather change the oil more often than use more expensive oil.

    I put 2 litres in this model and it's just last the max level on dip stick and is it meant to spit oil out if removed while running engine? How can I put 3.9 in if its already too much at 2? I fully drained and filter until it stopped dripping..

    • @IAMASPANNER
      @IAMASPANNER  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I’m reading this correctly you’re checking the oil level with the engine running?
      Add just under the oil capacity required before replacing the filler cap and running the engine for a few minutes.
      Switch off the engine for at least 10 minutes before checking the oil level.

    • @honorabilis1
      @honorabilis1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IAMASPANNER it was more of a question weather it should spit out if it was removed while engine was running, would it suggest there is too much in it as the other car doesnt do this. the level when settled is just like idk 1mm over the max

    not a bad video, would be a big help if you started the camera further back to give an overview before you zoom in a and get to work, or buy a wide lens so you can get more into the shot. also it would be helpful to give basic verbal (or written) description as to what you're looking for (& maybe what it looks like) as well as what you're planning to do, just script what you're saying before hand, nothing worse than an invalid thats confusing and long-winded. lastly scrap that star wars text crap there's nothing wrong with plain clear text, other than that i think you're doing good work, i haven't checked your newer content so hopefully you've already implanted some stuff i said

      Appreciate the constructive criticism, thank you. I have good days and bad days when it comes to editing but the problem with this video and my other service videos is the radio in the background so I end up muting the sound. Take a look at this more recent video: th-cam.com/video/kYH2GdaSyBU/w-d-xo.html
      Just a shame I couldn't talk on it like you say.

    How do you align the notch with the filter housing when tightening it? Or Will it just align itself?

    • @IAMASPANNER
      @IAMASPANNER  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Steven,
      I didn’t even notice any notches but the tightening to the torque figure is the important bit. If they are supposed to line up then they will do at the point of being tight enough.

    • @stevenyoung5433
      @stevenyoung5433 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IAMASPANNER ok thanks for replying as I recently changed my oil and wasn't sure if the part with the mini o-ring was aligned correctly

    • @IAMASPANNER
      @IAMASPANNER  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh I didn’t understand what notch you meant. The bit that sticks out of the filter. The best way is to fit the filter first rather than putting it in the top like I have. You’d know if it wasn’t aligned as you’d have an oil pressure issue immediately.

    • @stevenyoung5433
      @stevenyoung5433 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IAMASPANNER oh okay I installed it as shown in the video but there's no oil light on the dash or any warning at all so I guess it got seated correctly, but thanks for the tip, I'll be sure to keep that in mind the next time I do an oil change

    • @ducatimania

      @@stevenyoung5433 Interesting as I got mine wrong first time round and had low oil pressure, got another filter and fitted into the body first so that I could align the spigot in the hole and all sorted.

    Il modo di fare il tagliando non è idoneo. Le parti da smontare e il motore vanno per prima puliti. E la turbina va otturata con un panno pulito per non fare entrare corpi estranei 🤔💪💯🥂🖐️
