It was kind of symbolic how Ulquiorra died. It's like this: Ulquiorra was born without being able to feel, smell, taste, or hear anything so his only sense was sight. He grew up in an environment where all the hollows/vasto lorde around him were black, but he was the only white one. He didn't even have a mouth so he couldn't even perform the basic obligation of a hollow (which was, of course, to eat other hollows). It was this sad background that lead to his nihilistic nature, not knowing the human emotions. But it's not until he's dying and taking his last glance at Orihime where he finally realizes the meaning of the human heart, and the emotions that humans show. This a sort of metaphor that tells the audience that because the basis of his character was largely built on the concept that he cannot feel pain or any emotion, his realization of the human heart is not meant to be. It goes against his character. I remember being so sad when I first saw Ulquiorra's death many many years ago. If you remember back when Ichigo fought his Inner Hollow for control over his HM(Hollow Mask), they were fighting for domination over Ichigo's body, towards the end of the fight "White" as alot of people has dubbed him, told Ichigo "Dont die before the next time we meet, because if you do i will take over your body and Crush you", which is obvious what happen now. Back when Ichigo fought Byakuya he was getting slower after the fight dragged on because he hadn't mastered his Bankai which led to him almost getting crushed by the power of his own Bankai, in which 'White Mentions' and when Ichigo called out "i wanna win, i wanna win, i don't wanna lose" that made 'White' step in for him bc if Ichigo dies he'd die as well. Its the same with the "i want to protect her" in ep 271. and then there is when Ulqui and Yammy arrived in Katakura and Ulqui notes that at his highest Ichigo's Reiatsu is higher then his when he was having a tug of war with 'white' over his body, granted A Ulqui was in base form B Ichigo's Inner Hollow's Power was massively Suppressed, but it was still something Ulqui took note of especially since as soon as ichigo arrived at that scene Ulqui waved him off and called him Trash. And i am pleased that the both of you have been taking notes on the Markings on Ichigo's Hollow mask have been increasing and getting bigger kinda as subtle nod for this moment. And then you have the moment itself, fucking awsome is the only thing you could say, the design, the roar the cero's the fucking everything. I Also wanna mention that VL (Vasto Lorde) Ichigo isn't 'White" controlling the body if it was white he would of definitely started talking shit the moment he got the chance but more 'White's' Full unsuppressed Hollow Instinct, but to make it simpler just say its 'White'
About the hollow form... Remember when ichigo was training with the vizards and white ichigo after being defeated said if ichigo lost again then he would take over and that's exactly what he did
i wish it was a evenly matched fight. it's like goku vs frieza. goku was no match for frieza then he went super saiyan then frieza was no match for goku.
The reason why Ulquiorra vanished is not because he didn't feel empty anymore as a hallow, It's because of Ichigo blowing him up in half. It may regenerate his body but it can never replace the organs he lost and his body just gave up which made him fade away instead.
Here's a detail that everyone seems to forget, Ulquiorra himself said in this episode, his greatest strength is not his destructive capabilities, but its his high speed regeneration, second release or not he is still #4, a nuke strong enough is all it took to defeat him,all I'm saying is my boi Starkk still the strongest :D (RIP to the edgelord Espada tho, kinda wished he became one of Inoue's small companion in her hairclip somehow when I first read this)
Smh, until stark shows me something besides losing to a captains shikai then hell no, the fact that you said his regeneration is greater than his destructive capabilities already proves that he is stronger than stark who has no regenerative abilities at all lmfao 😂
@@jaycienlovelace3123 one he lost to 3 captains n after Shunsui backstab him(which Shunsui himself also admits he boutta bust out his Bankai if not for Ukitake interfering),two I have no idea how you manage to pull the dumbest conclusion from my word,I'm saying he admits his destructive capabilities isnt his greatest power,n even that greatest power of his lose to a cero with enough force behind it,how did that turn to people that can heal stronger than people who cant, like bruh 😂
The fucked up part is that since Ulquiorra died by the wounds that the cero inflicted to him he isn't going to soul society because hollows go to the soul society when they are killed by zanpaktou
Cool thing is, every espada has an aspect of death, grimmjow is destruction for example, ulqiorra was nihilism, and the second he begins to understand the heart, to have a reason to live, he dies.
there is a theory (that i too kinda sorta like to believe :'D) that Ulquiorra didn't die because his powers ran out, but because he started to develop human emotion and in the moment he understood what the "heart" is, he went completely against his nature of being empty and emotionless and that's why he died
The Vasto lorde form is basically a release of ALL of ichigos hollow powers in a pure and uncontrolled state. The hollow masks were basically small and medium sized hollow releases.
According to Kubo Vastolorde Ichigo and 2nd Release Ulquiorra's fight was originally supposed to be longer and much more even than it was in the anime, but the anime and manga was being rushed so he had to make it one sided. It is still probably my favorite fight in Bleach though. I feel like these 2 were probably base Aizen level for sure.
Some people say it's not vasto lorde but i honestly think ichigo's hollow has evolved into a vasto lorde because the first time he transformed into a hollow his muscular and tall plus it looks more like a lizard
Of course its a vasto lorde that's been cleared pretty much in the manga and also ulqi here is even stronger then stark or any other arrancar and ichigo hollow form easily without effort just annihilated him soo its pretty clear he's wayy stronger then any arrancar by a lot
8:43 Damn the beginning of that quote was cut off. It’s so much more impactful than was shown in the video… “I see. So you show no mercy. Just like a true Hollow. I care not. Defeated by you as I stand, my existence holds no further meaning. Do it."
that's the reason why Aizen ordered Ulquiorra not the 1st espada to guard Orihime, bcs the other espada will be blasted in second by vasto lorde ichigo.
The reason why Ulq dies is explained by Ulq's explanation of his regenerative abilities. "Able to regenerate everything except organs" or something along those lines depending on translation. So even though his limbs were on their way to being fully restored, any organs in the path of that slash and subsequent cero were beyond repair. RIP Ulq. You weren't evil, just an emo edgelord.
White zangetsu told ichigo to not die during encounter before this or else the “horse could become the king” this is what he meant ichigo technically died.
You know, the whole fight with Ulquiorra and Ichigo was the best fight for me but everytime it cuts away I be getting pissed and honestly this is the only major problem that I have with bleach, in that they would have multiple fights going on at the same time and they do the cuts in between battle, I understand the show wants to show both fights but damn when it's to extend that I am full invented in one fight and the opposite happens for the other fight. But nonetheless still hype to see more of your reaction.
Sonido means "sound" in Spanish, and as the shinigamis has the "Flash step", the hollows have "Sonido" (I guess they mean that they move at the speed of sound or something like that)
Ichigo's full hollow form is actually a hollow in the Vasto Lorde Stage, with the power much greater than the Espada. Hence it's known as the Vasto Lorde form. The attack virtually killed him, but the hollow inside him took control of his being and resurrected him, in the Vasto Lorde form. So I guess Ichigo isn't totally dead LOL
There is a hidden detail. Unlike other arrancars Ulquiorra's number disappeared after 2nd release. I think he was the strongest one all along, but he just had fascination with number 4.
Summing up the Arrancar, Fake Karakura Town, and Hueco Mundo arcs: Jingle bells, Zommari smells, Yammy ran away, Ulquiorra died, Orihime cried, Ichigo all the way!

Now you know that you'll come back to this shit for years XD
I always thought ulquorra look like orohimes dead brother, because he kind of look like him and that's why he had that attachment to her.
One of the literal most memorable fights in all anime, and yet there is still much greatness ahead. Can't wait for you guys to catch up
About the hollow form... Remember when ichigo was training with the vizards and white ichigo after being defeated said if ichigo lost again then he would take over and that's exactly what he did
Many people forget that... It was always foreshadowed but people still call it a asspull....
4:35 "He's going Super Saiyan 3!"
Lost my shit.
I’ve been waiting for this reaction for so long it’s finally here 👏
Unquiorra is similar to the chimera ant king in that as they became more human- the protagonist become more of a monster.
This battle was never even only one sided. It was either Ichigo or him dominating.
i wish it was a evenly matched fight. it's like goku vs frieza. goku was no match for frieza then he went super saiyan then frieza was no match for goku.
That's what makes it great
almost all of ichigos fights are like that.
"That has got to be zangetsu" couples arcs to early for that
It really was a shame to see Ulquiorra go like that, he was a dope character with great potential to develop even further.
Ulquiorra: "I no longer have meaning. Do it."
White: "ight bet"
In the words of the late Count Dooku
"I've been looking forward to this."
The reason why Ulquiorra vanished is not because he didn't feel empty anymore as a hallow, It's because of Ichigo blowing him up in half. It may regenerate his body but it can never replace the organs he lost and his body just gave up which made him fade away instead.
Ulquiorra is easily one of the best and deep characters in bleach by far :")
Yo Ulquiorra's death absolutely destroyed me - like everytime i think about this scene, i always tear up
I know he's a fantasy character but still
I love how its kinda Ishida's specialty to just jump and come behind the enemies. He does it everytime XD
Here's a detail that everyone seems to forget, Ulquiorra himself said in this episode, his greatest strength is not his destructive capabilities, but its his high speed regeneration, second release or not he is still #4, a nuke strong enough is all it took to defeat him,all I'm saying is my boi Starkk still the strongest :D
(RIP to the edgelord Espada tho, kinda wished he became one of Inoue's small companion in her hairclip somehow when I first read this)
Smh, until stark shows me something besides losing to a captains shikai then hell no, the fact that you said his regeneration is greater than his destructive capabilities already proves that he is stronger than stark who has no regenerative abilities at all lmfao 😂
@@jaycienlovelace3123 shunsui would clap ulquiorra in shikai as well
@@michaelsmithlin3755 🧢
@@jaycienlovelace3123 one he lost to 3 captains n after Shunsui backstab him(which Shunsui himself also admits he boutta bust out his Bankai if not for Ukitake interfering),two I have no idea how you manage to pull the dumbest conclusion from my word,I'm saying he admits his destructive capabilities isnt his greatest power,n even that greatest power of his lose to a cero with enough force behind it,how did that turn to people that can heal stronger than people who cant, like bruh 😂
@@jaycienlovelace3123 dont be mad your boy would also lose to other captains in base/shikai lmao
bro when ulquiorra said i see now. in the palm of my hand... is a heart. i felt bad for him cause he wanted to be human more than a hollow
The fucked up part is that since Ulquiorra died by the wounds that the cero inflicted to him he isn't going to soul society because hollows go to the soul society when they are killed by zanpaktou
He may not go to soul society but is definitely going to heaven
You're god damn right
@@ibrahinsaeed6093 the soul society is heaven....
@@anus6896 but the heaven our hearts 😭
@@jans1916 yeah he always in our heart
I was waiting for this moment!
Cool thing is, every espada has an aspect of death, grimmjow is destruction for example, ulqiorra was nihilism, and the second he begins to understand the heart, to have a reason to live, he dies.
Ulquiorra has more character growth than the main villain lmao.
3:00 In the manga, Ulquiorra didn't crush Ishida's arm, he just cut it off the whole arm
there is a theory (that i too kinda sorta like to believe :'D) that Ulquiorra didn't die because his powers ran out, but because he started to develop human emotion and in the moment he understood what the "heart" is, he went completely against his nature of being empty and emotionless and that's why he died
The Vasto lorde form is basically a release of ALL of ichigos hollow powers in a pure and uncontrolled state. The hollow masks were basically small and medium sized hollow releases.
"Ulquiorra is TERRIFYING"
Ichigo - "Hold my beer"
According to Kubo Vastolorde Ichigo and 2nd Release Ulquiorra's fight was originally supposed to be longer and much more even than it was in the anime, but the anime and manga was being rushed so he had to make it one sided. It is still probably my favorite fight in Bleach though. I feel like these 2 were probably base Aizen level for sure.
Ulqiorra : WHO ARE YOU
Vasto lord: ULQIORRA ORA ORA ORA ORA
Some people say it's not vasto lorde but i honestly think ichigo's hollow has evolved into a vasto lorde because the first time he transformed into a hollow his muscular and tall plus it looks more like a lizard
Of course its a vasto lorde that's been cleared pretty much in the manga and also ulqi here is even stronger then stark or any other arrancar and ichigo hollow form easily without effort just annihilated him soo its pretty clear he's wayy stronger then any arrancar by a lot
@@lucynatas8458 i know it's just some people still confuse and say it's not a vasto lorde
8:43 Damn the beginning of that quote was cut off. It’s so much more impactful than was shown in the video…
“I see.
So he know ichigos true potential.
Your boy was over there losing his damn mind! 🤣 Aye I was the same way! 😆
WE FINALLY HERE BOYS
White zangetsu told ichigo to not die during encounter before this or else the “horse could become the king” this is what he meant ichigo technically died.
his death gave me the first time "emptyness" in an anime.......
Ulquiorra slapping around with that tail like Meruem
Heisuten Fr seen all this and then still reacted to bleach
You know, the whole fight with Ulquiorra and Ichigo was the best fight for me but everytime it cuts away I be getting pissed and honestly this is the only major problem that I have with bleach, in that they would have multiple fights going on at the same time and they do the cuts in between battle, I understand the show wants to show both fights but damn when it's to extend that I am full invented in one fight and the opposite happens for the other fight. But nonetheless still hype to see more of your reaction.
Ulquiorra: I have no meaning, do it.
Ichigo: *delivers*
I mean, he wished and then Ichigo just really delivered LOL
Ulquiorra's backstory is in a databook if you are interested. Just search for his backstory on google.
Sonido means "sound" in Spanish, and as the shinigamis has the "Flash step", the hollows have "Sonido" (I guess they mean that they move at the speed of sound or something like that)
I remember the first time I saw this and I was speechless but was going crazy at the same time
Ichigo's full hollow form is actually a hollow in the Vasto Lorde Stage, with the power much greater than the Espada. Hence it's known as the Vasto Lorde form. The attack virtually killed him, but the hollow inside him took control of his being and resurrected him, in the Vasto Lorde form. So I guess Ichigo isn't totally dead LOL
It's even more funny because near the final chapter Ichigo is told his hollow mask would have been that form after that battle but he never used it
"That has got to be zangetsu" hmm well you are right about that homie just not in the way you would think
There is a hidden detail. Unlike other arrancars Ulquiorra's number disappeared after 2nd release.
I think he was the strongest one all along, but he just had fascination with number 4.
Ulquiorra is one of the best characters in the bleach, regardless of strength just his cool personality
1:00 that's what she said
In the manga we could see when Hollow Ichigo crush the Lance his hand have a special hierro on it
3:00 actually in manga Ishida lost his arm at that moment, then Orihime did her magic and it returned :D
“That has to be zangetsu” 🤡🤫🤫
"All Ichigo needed was her "Kurosaki-kun"" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I did NOT see that remark coming X'D
FUN FACT. In the manga, ulquiorra tears off Uryuus arm, instead of just burning it.
5:35 "that's gotta be ZANGETSU 🌚"
Lol😂
Well it was zangetsu
That's the drippiest transformation, it's Ichigo's Vasto Lorde form.
Anyone know the actual outro song? The one in the description is different
Summing up the Arrancar, Fake Karakura Town, and Hueco Mundo arcs: Jingle bells, Zommari smells, Yammy ran away, Ulquiorra died, Orihime cried, Ichigo all the way!
Ulquiorra was a real one.
Pour one out for our boy.
Ulquiorra didn't die he just went to Death Note as L 😂😂
Everybody gansta till Ulquiorra starts talking about the kokoro
Ulquiorra got the Madara treatment
