Remember when Ulquiorra told him to store his spiritual pressure? Which was very wierd at that moment because spiritual pressure is a constant for every individual and they can't store it over time. So this was the moment that was referring to. Espada rankings are based on reiatsu and hence Yammy is Espada 0. He's basically the strongest (in brute strength) but strength isn't the only metrix, you've to know how to use your spiritual pressure which Yammy doesn't. Another point is Aaroneiro was the only Gillian in the Espada and Gillian was the weakest. So how was Yammy behind him? Basically because of low spiritual pressure. I mean even if Yammy is stronger than stronger than Ulquiorra, Ulquiorra could beat him. Ulquiorra has got the speed, regeneration and even damage potential to beat Yammy. Add the other abilities of his which would give Ulquiorra an advantage.

Pretty sure Espadas are ranked based on their Reiatsu alone, while in that form Yammy should have the most Reiatsu considering his size. Starrk being ranked as 1 should make sense later on if you think about it enough.

@Zandeel Remmington nnoitry and grimjow lack the strength to deal enough damage to yammy while thanks to his massive size and power all of his attacks become aoe and are therefor hard to avoid even with him being slower. ulqiorra being focused more on regeneration would also have a hard time dealing with him. overall other than barragan thanks to his ability i dont see any other espada capable of taking yammi on and survive.

@@vojtechlansky86 the thing with starrk is he can shoot ceros on mass but in his released form yammys ballas are at that level in power while being much faster. also shunsui said it himself. starrks ability to shoot nearly infinite ceros is quite something but their power is overall lacking to finish an opponent off. i wouldnt be surprised if yammy can just erase starrks ceros with his reiatsu alone like what he did with rukias and sados shots. ulqiorras only weapon to fight yammmy with are his cero and lanca del relampago which he has to use from such a distance that yammys balla would be faster and his own cero stronger than ulqiorras. in order to not get overpowered ulqiorra would have to attack from a blind spot behind yammy befor he can react. and while yammys sensing ability isnt the best he was able to sense ulqiorras fight and death through the roof of las noches which no other character there seem to have been able to do so trying to get a surprise attack on him doesnt seem like the easiest thing either. harribell and anything below ulqiorra tho isnt even a contest. harribells strongest attack has a wide range but against yammy with his massive size i dont see her do much damage if any at all.

Yammy was made number 0 by Kubo to explain how Ichigo new power up from the Ulquiorra fight pushed him above all the Espadas and one step ready to fight Aizen who is stronger than all the Espadas. While not equal to Aizen in power the author use Yammy to power jump scale Ichigo instead of having to explain how Ichigo is going to get stronger than Espadas, 3, 2, and 1. The databook puts Yammy above all the Espada even Ulquiorra and manga puts Yammy above Ulquiorra's first release form.
Yammy isn't the strongest espada, ulquioora is and here's why. According Ulquioora himself, Aizen stated that espadas ranked 4 and above aren't allowed to undergo their release forms inside "Las Noches" cause by doing so would destroy it, and Yammy who is ranked 0 didn't destroy "Las Noches" when he went into his release form implying that his power has to be beneath rank 4. And when Yammy went into his 2nd release, Las Noches was still intact which means that Yammy's power would have to be in the realm of rank 5 (assuming that what Aizen said was true).

I feel wierd when he calls Tostito Hitsuguya when his first name is actually toshiro. They call byukaya and Kenya hi by thier first names so why not Toshiro?
It’s all about what you hear the most, like everyone calls Toshiro, Captain Hitsugaya in the show. He also gets a lot of screen time and so do the people who call him Hitsugaya. For Byakuya, he’s fought Ichigo, and he doesn’t get as much screen time, so the majority of him being called is Byakuya, I’ve honestly never met someone who calls him Kuchiki without having to remind themselves to call him that. Kenpachi is the same reason, most of his name calls come from Ichigo and he’s had a major fight with him, the name Kenpachi gets put into our memory as the main. Other instances are Rangiku and Momo, they’re called by their last name a lot, you might not even know Hinamori’s first name to be honest, cause it’s barely mentioned, either you play BBS, or you’ve taught yourself to say their first names, which might be brought by the fact that you are more familiar with Bleach and do that thing Ichigo does where he just says first names. Kira and Hisagi are cases where their last names are also the ones used the most and are just more memorable compared to their first names. The humans are really good examples of this, you don’t call Ishida by Uryu unless you really taught yourself because Ishida is said the most, Chad’s first name is Yasutora, but Chad is said the most by memorable characters like Ichigo, it’s a weird case because his real name is Sado and characters like Orihime say that, yet you might hear it wrong, what does Urahara call him, what about Renji. Then with Orihime, it’s surprisingly hard to call her only one thing, both are easy to remember, Ichigo calls her Inoue, Ishida says Inoue, Chad says Inoue, but you hear her first name almost as often, and someone like Tatsuki and the girls in the early arcs call her Orihime, Hime, it’s just preference. It comes down to which name you’re exposed to more (also whether or not you feel like characters are familiar with you and whether or not you play BBS).

He has the greatest strength & the highest reiatsu. but he's not necessarily the most powerful since he is slow, his big size makes him a huge target, he doesnt have unique abilities and most importantly, he's not very smart to begin with. the other espadas would wreck him in a direct fight.

When Ulquiorra released his 2nd form, his SP had expanded and became lake-like, even commented by Uryuu that it's a lot like viscous liquid. Yammy never had that kind of remark made about him, ever. Nothing impressive was noted, except the number 0 and that he had a lot of SP. That alone doesn't mean much in battle. His Hierro was definitely weaker than Espada 1-4. His size made him an easy target. His speed, reflexes got clowned on by Ichigo, Kenpachi, Byakuya and even Renji and Chad a little bit. He had widespread attacks but they're basically not powerful enough to do anything against captain class opponents. He had high physical strength, but like his ceros and balas, it's just not strong enough to do any real damage to formidable opponents. I'd say Yammy is somewhere on the level of Nnoitra or maybe a little bit stronger. But that's about it. Kenpachi and Byakuya got a clean W and I think they would've been KO-ed against someone like Starrk, after defeating him (yeah I think they could've probably 2v1 Starrk), or they might not have even won. Yammy is just blatantly not the strongest espada. As blatant as Ulquiorra being the strongest one lmao

Yammy has the highest spiritual pressure and raw strength, but he cant use it properly, he is super slow and very bad at defense, as well as any type of tatical or sensory ability. He basically has a bunch of power but no way to use it. He would get beaten by espadas 4-1

nnoitry and grimjow lack the strength to deal enough damage to yammy while thanks to his massive size and power all of his attacks become aoe and are therefor hard to avoid even with him being slower.
ulqiorra being focused more on regeneration would also have a hard time dealing with him.
overall other than barragan thanks to his ability i dont see any other espada capable of taking yammi on and survive.

the thing with starrk is he can shoot ceros on mass but in his released form yammys ballas are at that level in power while being much faster.
also shunsui said it himself.
starrks ability to shoot nearly infinite ceros is quite something but their power is overall lacking to finish an opponent off.
i wouldnt be surprised if yammy can just erase starrks ceros with his reiatsu alone like what he did with rukias and sados shots.
ulqiorras only weapon to fight yammmy with are his cero and lanca del relampago which he has to use from such a distance that yammys balla would be faster and his own cero stronger than ulqiorras.
in order to not get overpowered ulqiorra would have to attack from a blind spot behind yammy befor he can react.
and while yammys sensing ability isnt the best he was able to sense ulqiorras fight and death through the roof of las noches which no other character there seem to have been able to do so trying to get a surprise attack on him doesnt seem like the easiest thing either.

harribells strongest attack has a wide range but against yammy with his massive size i dont see her do much damage if any at all.

Yammy was made number 0 by Kubo to explain how Ichigo new power up from the Ulquiorra fight pushed him above all the Espadas and one step ready to fight Aizen who is stronger than all the Espadas. While not equal to Aizen in power the author use Yammy to power jump scale Ichigo instead of having to explain how Ichigo is going to get stronger than Espadas, 3, 2, and 1. The databook puts Yammy above all the Espada even Ulquiorra and manga puts Yammy above Ulquiorra's first release form.

Yammy isn't the strongest espada, ulquioora is and here's why.
According Ulquioora himself, Aizen stated that espadas ranked 4 and above aren't allowed to undergo their release forms inside "Las Noches" cause by doing so would destroy it, and Yammy who is ranked 0 didn't destroy "Las Noches" when he went into his release form implying that his power has to be beneath rank 4. And when Yammy went into his 2nd release, Las Noches was still intact which means that Yammy's power would have to be in the realm of rank 5 (assuming that what Aizen said was true).

Second, there is nothing impressive in Stark’s ability ,the infinite cero did zero damage to Shunsui, and the power of wolf attack is even weaker than Ulquiorra’s thunder lance. So Stark is definitely weaker than second release Ulquiorra if only take what the manga shows into consideration.

It’s all about what you hear the most, like everyone calls Toshiro, Captain Hitsugaya in the show. He also gets a lot of screen time and so do the people who call him Hitsugaya. For Byakuya, he’s fought Ichigo, and he doesn’t get as much screen time, so the majority of him being called is Byakuya, I’ve honestly never met someone who calls him Kuchiki without having to remind themselves to call him that. Kenpachi is the same reason, most of his name calls come from Ichigo and he’s had a major fight with him, the name Kenpachi gets put into our memory as the main. Other instances are Rangiku and Momo, they’re called by their last name a lot, you might not even know Hinamori’s first name to be honest, cause it’s barely mentioned, either you play BBS, or you’ve taught yourself to say their first names, which might be brought by the fact that you are more familiar with Bleach and do that thing Ichigo does where he just says first names. Kira and Hisagi are cases where their last names are also the ones used the most and are just more memorable compared to their first names. The humans are really good examples of this, you don’t call Ishida by Uryu unless you really taught yourself because Ishida is said the most, Chad’s first name is Yasutora, but Chad is said the most by memorable characters like Ichigo, it’s a weird case because his real name is Sado and characters like Orihime say that, yet you might hear it wrong, what does Urahara call him, what about Renji. Then with Orihime, it’s surprisingly hard to call her only one thing, both are easy to remember, Ichigo calls her Inoue, Ishida says Inoue, Chad says Inoue, but you hear her first name almost as often, and someone like Tatsuki and the girls in the early arcs call her Orihime, Hime, it’s just preference. It comes down to which name you’re exposed to more (also whether or not you feel like characters are familiar with you and whether or not you play BBS).

Yes, technically Yammy is the strongest. He has the greatest strength & the highest reiatsu. but he's not necessarily the most powerful since he is slow, his big size makes him a huge target, he doesnt have unique abilities and most importantly, he's not very smart to begin with. the other espadas would wreck him in a direct fight.

Yammy would get clowned by Espada 1-4 and 5-6 would also probably put up a decent fight. Yummy just has a lot of spiritual pressure. In quantity. Not quality. When Ulquiorra released his 2nd form, his SP had expanded and became lake-like, even commented by Uryuu that it's a lot like viscous liquid. Yammy never had that kind of remark made about him, ever. Nothing impressive was noted, except the number 0 and that he had a lot of SP. That alone doesn't mean much in battle. His Hierro was definitely weaker than Espada 1-4. His size made him an easy target. His speed, reflexes got clowned on by Ichigo, Kenpachi, Byakuya and even Renji and Chad a little bit. He had widespread attacks but they're basically not powerful enough to do anything against captain class opponents. He had high physical strength, but like his ceros and balas, it's just not strong enough to do any real damage to formidable opponents.
I'd say Yammy is somewhere on the level of Nnoitra or maybe a little bit stronger. But that's about it. Kenpachi and Byakuya got a clean W and I think they would've been KO-ed against someone like Starrk, after defeating him (yeah I think they could've probably 2v1 Starrk), or they might not have even won. Yammy is just blatantly not the strongest espada.

Ulquiorra in base form only beat a nerfed bankai Ichigo who was trying to protect Nel also don’t forget Harribel almost blitzed and one shotted Toshiro at full power unlike Ulquiorra her ressureccion doesn’t increase her stats like Ulquiorra’s does it only lets her create and manipulate water unlike Ulquiorra which massively increase his stats Ulquiorra had a good matchup since Ichigo solely relies on stats like him and bankai Toshiro was fast enough to not get blitzed by Harribel which is enough for him to beat her. Hopefully that cleared things up
