Okay, now we know that, a BACtrack is quite close, to an official police breathalyser.

Even the police issued one isn’t accurate. Since theirs isn’t admissible in court compared to the data master at the station.
@@Mikey-ym6ok the results from the handheld ones are never used as evidence in court, in most countries which use them, they are only a preliminary test for a reason. Here in Australia we don't have field sobriety tests, and instead we use these breathalyzers as the inital test and then either use the more advanced version which uses infrared spectroscopy rather than fuel cells at the station or "booze bus" if it's part of a Random Breath Test checkpoint. And if you refuse the tests you get a warrant for a blood sample.
I understand that these portable breathalyzers can give slightly innacurate readings which can be the difference between a charge or not but I would much rather that than a field sobriety test which can easily be failed by a perfectly sober person.

1. Was the rofeer calibrated correctly? If not then I'm sure they could send another. 2. Why didn't you start with a controll breathalyzer? You know, breathalyze yourself before drinking to see if they all read 0 or not. That might have been what the rofeer had trouble with
Be careful with those backtrack devices after they're used so many times they become less and less accurate they're only good for like 100 tests They start to become really uncalibrated

Would be really great to see the C6 vs the Go... I think they're 2 BACtrack's most of us are likely torn between... The Go being cheaper, but not fuel cell, which makes me nervous/curious to see how it would do ❤
I would say stay away from the go for that reason. I’ve seen inaccurate readings from the GO vs the more expensive bactracs have the better tech

The Rofeer might've kept you out of the clink.
You should have blown multiple times and averaged. I wonder if any device is consistent within a 1-2 min period.
I think the warm-up period is supposed to clear up the sensor from previous tests, but I don't know how well it actually does.
I've seen the cheapest BACtrack to show higher and higher levels after repeated tests (of 1~2min. apart) given the "breath" with a machine to make it as precise as possible.
But I hope these C6 , C8 ... models would be much better

FYI... you can still be arrested for DUI even if you blow below a .08... "under impairment" means under ANY amount of a substance that affects your ability to drive safely, REGARDLESS of the amount. This is why lawyers tell you NEVER TO DO FIELD SOBRIETY tests because the police AREN'T checking to make sure you're good to drive at that point, but are collecting RECORDED EVIDENCE of your IMPAIRMENT so that even if you DO blow below .08, including .00, they can prove to a judge that you were too impaired to drive. Don't give the police ANYTHING to use against you, so that even if you're forced to blow, or give blood, there's no video evidence of how impaired you actually were and you'll make your lawyer's job a lot easier. ✌️
