I’m glad they haven’t. It would be overly bias if they did and he only was able to ride doo. I’d be unsubscribing if it came to that. I love his ability to bring us unbiased opinions on multiple different brands of sleds.
Perhaps this means an offseason 'sled-build' series perhaps?! Seems like a ton of potential across the current sleds you have to refresh & upgrade, I know I would watch a whole series on that!!
I love the shade thrown on SnowTrax TV. No ‘25 spring order for me. I’ll be buying a leftover ‘24 Ski Doo or maybe a last year Yamaha four stroke crossover for a buddy sled. The ‘25 Expert in navy is super good-looking but the deals on ‘24s will be too good to pass up.
With the lack of snow in the heart of snowmobiling , the upper Midwest plus recession manufacturers need to reduce prices not make them higher or they will price themselves out of business.
I tell you what I have always been a Ski-doo rider but this year my wife picked up the new 2024 Arctic Cat Catalyst M600 and all I can say is wow Arctic Cat stepped up there game and I am definitely thinking about the 858 Catalyst.
@@farming4gthe catalyst I built online with a bumper and basic stuff was 23k cad pre pdi and tax. You can build one up on their website to see for yourself. Pricey for NA but then again so is 9r, I think even NA 850 expert start just under 21.
It's crazy how much all toys have gone up in price, don't get me started on trucks. Yes technology has improved a lot over the last 10-15 years but prices have raced way above normal inflation.
I can't wait for the cat next year! I really hope it puts AC back in serious competition. Your review will be one of the main ones I'll be looking for.
Excited to hear your thoughts on the the catalyst platform. The alpha rail does take time to get used to but honestly dont think id ever go back to a twin.
Ontario rider here (North Bay). A trail width Backcountry is perfect for me, more deep snow float than my 137” Renegade, but can still rail a twisty trail. I’m 2km from groomed trails but also back on to endless crown land north of the city. I ride probably 50/50 and have stayed away from the Bsckcountry because I still want fast, stable cornering.
Did you even get to ride yet this year? I'm from farther North in Sault Ste marie and we havnt had snow all year. Literally not even enough to groom a trail yet alone go boondocking
@@Lefishn trails have been opened a grand total of 9 days by me. We got a pile of snow in mid-January then it was warm for 3 weeks straight. Nearly all my 400km of riding has been on crown land this year. Oddly, I’ve broken every trail I’ve done this year and nobody else is riding it. About 70cm of snow depth right now where I live.
i've been saying for years that doo has gotten the XRS sleds too seperated from the RS... so its so nice to see them comp pkg coming as an RS lite. same geo as RS just not as tall spindles, rack steering, kashima shocks just 6mm smaller etc... makes my desciion hard as i ride both MXZ and Freeride but not sure which one to get in 25. i might keep my current FR until G6 chassis

Lynx made their top 2 sleds have an equal 180 hp from both a 2stroke and a 4stroke. The RAVE GLS 850 Turbo 2stroke with a water/meth injection in stock form and the 900 Turbo 4stroke both have 180hp... insane!
I completely agree, run the same sleds again! Mod them a bit, and rewrap. If anything sell one of the old sleds for a cat.... So sad im saying get a Cat.... But lets be real, they look promising. Another Great Video Matt
Matt - have you thought about taking one of your sleds and doing the big build like you did a few years ago to the sled that got totaled before you got it back to ride?
I don't get why they dont make a more off trail friendly version of the Backcountry, keep the 50/50 version they have, but also have what is basically a freeride with trail cooling as an 80/20, for the guys that mainly ride off trail in the lower snow areas but has the capability to go out west for a few trips a year. Especially that is easier to change tracks now, could run a 1.6-2" at home then throw on a 2.5+ for a trip out west
Not much new stuff on the mountain side other than piggy backs on the X and expert. Finally have GPS included in the gauge. Big changes on the trail and crossover side with new front suspension and 850 turbo r on the backcountry
What are the odds of you coming to NW CO to shred? Not great amounts of snow but still good! 12 miles of trail to my fav zones. Starting at 7 and Ridin 9 to 10k feet of elevation.
Personally i think im going to extend the warrenty on my 2023 freeride and just go with a new summit xpert in 154 set up i do however am possibly going to snowcheck or find a backed out 146 turbo freeride or just get a complete skid for my 2023. Not sure on having 3 sleds next year. I would like to try arctic cat but the price tag on a 858 na is not worth it for me unless i void warranty and turbo the thing
I’ll be keeping the 23 r one more season. Might find a low mile 24 free ride and save a few bucks if I get the itch. Only put 160 miles on my 23 this season. It’s only got 700 miles total on it…. Keep up the filming Matt we’re still watching bud….
Where did you ride if from Muskoka? I'm up in Sault Ste Marie and we only snowblower the driveway 3 times this year. Literally from Christmas till just 2 days ago we had maybe 3" snow and most days you can see grass in 90% of the city

Man they are pricing us out. Adding $1000 to the expert and will probably lose $1000 more in resale. Upgrading year to year is a $7-8000 loss. That’s not right.
Snowmobiles are stacking up at dealers, the low snow year will have people scrambling to sell used sleds. Maybe the consumer will start to see a break on pricing.

Doo wants to own all their stuff from start to finish and while that has worked very well for them so far, they would be wise to make an exception here.. So sad as the radio frequency GPS stuff owned by Polaris seems easy to replicate but it clearly isn’t. The technology owned by Polaris can’t be replicated as it is proprietary. GPS in areas not covered by cell is the inherent problem in our sport that HAS BEEN solved with the rf frequency GPS overlay patented and owned by Polaris. Shot is soooo nice but it isn’t the life saver GPS tracking across brands would be. Rider tracker equates to saving lives not to mention so much time saved looking for lost riders. Skidoo would be very smart to do a tit for tat on this one. I’m currently using the Trail Tech but the screen is small and it isn’t an ideal interface on a doo, as you’re aware. I refuse to buy the Doo big screen as all I want is buddy tracking without cell service and it won’t do it. Until it tracks GPS off grid I’m out. The big screen currently represents one more thing to replace if smashed or broken without upside. I don’t care for its beauty unless it becomes a way to track I’ll never pay for it. I did snow check a 2025 btw and I own a 24 and owned a 23 and 22 as well.
It’s ridiculous that it hasn’t happened yet, could imagine if avalanche beacons were like that? You have to buy the same brand as your buddy or you can’t detect his beacon. It’s a little more extreme, but still….
I’m not sure if “the powers that be” at arctic cat understand how popularity and social media influence affect sales, they haven’t picked up any new riders in years

It should be a legal requirement to have tracking cross brands. I mean it would be asinine to have Oxbow and other radios not talk to one another right? Also, the GPS tracking part has been on BRP‘s website for the last year to retrofit the 23s yet it hasn’t been for sale. I hope they get their act together to retrofit these as the phone app connectivity and crashing every other time you shut, the motor off is a big pain in the rear
No rider tracking is just a massive miss to me. Polaris has had it, Cat now has it, but Doo STILL doesn't. And of course the price increase. Come on people...😡

When I bought my last new ‘top of the line’ sled ten years ago it was $12,499 out the door. Even with inflation $25k is nuts.

one thing i noticed with track profile is the went back to the kinda serrated lugs instead of flat

My understanding is that the skidoo water/ meth also has some additional lubricants in it, so you need to buy their Meth.
