The Kilted Coaches follow through on what they preach. That's what makes them so successful. That attitude made it easier to wear my kilts during September to raise money for the SCAA. Sort of surprised the folks at church ... at least initially.
Great video!!! I wore my kilt at a festival this weekend and I didn't care what other people would think of me. Yeh, I got the strange looks by some people but I also had some great people come up to me and ask me about my kilt. Life is happier when you don't care what people might think of you.
I think the foundation for one not caring about what others think is as you said in the beginning of the video. You are comfortable with yourself, your sexuality, your profession, your message and who you are. Those who are very worried about what others think are not grounded in those things. Hope more become grounded in this mindset and foundation so he or she may become more comfortable in their own skin to wear a kilt like us. 😃
I am a new subscriber and I love you guys! I have recently reached my weight loss goal of 125lbs lost and physically I feel amazing however I still struggle with the distorted thinking that you guys are describing. I'm thankful for this video and you two showing the courage to speak on a subject that not alot of people will. I'm going to try and implement your lesson this week.
So true, so true. As a group class instructor, trainer, and theatre performer I gave up the concern. I make it a point to make a fool of myself as often as possible.
Michael, I am so glad to see you too enjoy kilts. I too am a black man with some Scots blood and I KNOW I WILL GET THE LOOKS. I have 2 and just ordered my third one that I have had my eye on for some time. But I don't have the gonads to wear them out. I am 69! You think I would not give a hoot what people say, but I STILL do! I may never get over this until the day I die!
You are amazing!!! We think having the right mindset is the BIGGEST component to achieving the goals we have set for ourselves over on our channel! Thank you for the awesome video!
This is so important. In our schools, we don't teach how to deal with peer pressure and what people think about us and how to deal with bullying. I always say, if that person is nothing to me, then who cares what they think. It is amazing how you can build self confidence and inner strength through this kind of thinking.
agreed. bullying is so rife ins schools now, such a shame and we worry for out children growing up in these environments. hopefully lessons like ours can help :)
Great message guys. You can waste so much energy worrying how other people see you, which for me, always comes down to how you see yourself. Accept yourself and the world becomes an easier place to be in.
That's a real stumper for me. No matter how hard I try not too, I still get sucked in, especially when it's something too rad. I believe it's learned behavior from your parents, some of the hardest behavioral patterns to change. Thanks for the vid.

Great message. I always worried about what people would say when I did this or that. Seeing you both doing that in the middle of others took guts. I think I will nave the confidence to put myself out there in the future. The time for worrying about others will stop. Thanks Coaches.

When I turned 50, I started not caring what people thought of me. It was the most liberating thing. I wish I could have discovered the freedom of living your life for yourself when I was 30! Needless to say, I'm a much happier and better person for it.
The Kilted Coaches Absolutely. I’m glad most folks are realizing that it doesn’t matter what others think much earlier in their lives these days. Thanks for being such great role models. It helps you guys are funny as hell. Definitely not hard on the eyes either! 😉
That is really important, only a couple of years ago I also discovered that finally I got rid of givin' a s***t (sorry for the cursing!) of what anybody thinks! It's your life!!!!

@@TheKiltedCoaches Definitely something I'll do next time I go and visit my beloved Scotland. Walk down the street in my kilt!!! A live in a big city and probably no one would care if I just walk the streets in my kilt. In fact I might do it on Sunday as a tribute to you guys! You are inspiring!
For a start, ego is not a dirty word. A bit of self confidence can go a long way. I choose not to think for other people, I get into enough trouble thinking for myself. I may need to impress people occasionally but on my own terms.
Thank you for this video. :) Your message is exactly how I try to be around others. I try not to care about what others think when they are not willing to understand where I come from....rather what I want others to know is that I'm there for them regardless. +Warren Franklin glad you liked this video mate. It's only when you do little challenges like this that you realise most people are actually more concerned about themselves that care what the hell you are doing.
I understand where you are coming from. Its like you walk into some place to eat. There are a group of people are eating you walk be they start to laugh. People start to think there laughing at them. I have that problem i speak to language's i speak spanish and english. Sometime i would in a group i would start to speak spanish to a friend and the non spanish speaking in the group would start to stare at me as if they thought i was talking about them. They should not be worried about what i was doing. My point is people think of them they should love them selves. Great segment today
I find the best way to build self esteem is to do something each day for someone else. Kindness builds self esteem. No wonder you guys feel good about yourselves.
Haven't seen all your videos yet. Still new to your channel. It doesn't surprise me that you would already have done something on this. It is who you guys are. What does surprise me is that you read all these posts. How in the world do you find time? Thanks once again for being such stand up guys. Glad we found you on here.
I tend to be a bit more "safe" with it. But, just a couple of weeks ago, I hiked from Talysarn (north Wales) to the summit of Snowdon....in my Welsh kilt. After crossing a good bit of the Nantlle Ridge, down to Rhydd Ddu, up Snowdon and back down (5.00am to 3.00pm for about 18 ish miles) I really didn't care what the hell anyone thought. Got plenty of looks (some puzzled, some humorous) as I approached the summit and going back down. Had some interesting chats along the way: including one hilarious conversation with a lady from Scotland at the summit. Had a fantastic time and achieved my goal. Ready to do it again!
I agree on all of it and it's funny how you talked about being in front of people as a fitness instructor and trainer I have felt the same way as a trainer and a fitness instructor myself LOL love you guys
standing 👏👏👏 brings back good memories of LEaN training, the one challenge that I just couldn't complete, oh well. Glad to see you both and Liz complete it!!
I'm female, and I got some attitude when I started going to the gym, and newbie guys sometimes think they're more important than me. But generally I'm well respected at the gym, because I show up and actually do work rather than sitting around on the equipment playing with my phone. If you go to the gym with a plan rather than diddling around you'll be accepted fully.
Be a Kilted Coacheé or an Outcast: Be who you are, be the best versions of who you are, recognize how awesome it is to be you every single time you can & assume it's awesome to be you as a principle of the universe.
Hahah loved this! People just DON'T CARE when you so mad things in public! I had to dance in public for a video once and I was mortified but you just...get used to it 😂
Reading the comments makes me think I might be one of the few who struggles with this still. :) Some opinions are easier for me to shrug off better than others. Was even hesitant to comment on this video because of how I might appear. Again, I don't have this mastered but I'm working on it.
I love the message here. And I have to ask -how is it those people were just walking past as you were doing burpees? Are they visually impaired? Seriously, if I was walking down the street and saw either of The Kilted Coaches doing anything, I'd be tripping over my own feet and making a bloody fool of myself. Or standing frozen in my tracks. Drooling like an idiot. I have to ask myself if I would care what anyone thinks at that point.
Sort of a spin off on the "Jumping Jack", the Burpee. Just learned something new. Looks easy for you young guys, but hard to do with no knees. Great advice though, about not to give a shit as to what others think of what you do.
Thanks for the vote of confidence on the Burbee. But Titanium Implants, can;t do Squats or jumps anymore. Miss all that. Still do a good workout though. When I come to Scotland I will find two guys in Kilts doing Burbees on High Street and say hello. Thanks for keeping in touch with these mails..means more than u know. J
Challenge accepted! Though not sure I'll do burpees. I used to worry about what strangers thought about me but now I could care less. I dance when in listening to a good song while walking or working out. Do we need to shoot a video of the challenge?
There are more and more people that SAY, YOU need to be perfect. If you know your right then that’s all you need to know. There is more than one way to skin a cat!
I agree with much of what you said, but I do care about the words of those who truly know me because they are the ones who will make unconditional, truthful, and honest judgments. For everyone else, it's just an opinion and I don't live my life through their expectations.
Hi ! I started wearing kilts 4 yrs ago.. I love them 14 handmade wool kilts and counting... Even though I'm a girl, and a kilt is like a skirt so it's easier for a woman to wear a kilt...but when I started my family/friends was like y ? Because they are cool, comfortable...at the time I didn't know we had Scotish blood in us..i just found out last yr that my Great Grandma on my father's side is... Scottish.. Scottish or not if you want to wear a kilt go for it..male or female go for it.. My husband wore a kilt for the 1st time at a Celtic Festival this past sat..He looked great.. I'm a bit of a tom boy and I think the kilt I can dress it up or just wear a nice form fitting T shirt with my kilts... ..I try not to worry about what people think, but I do.. but it doesnt stop me on being me and wearing kilts and I wear sporrans w them too.. Thank you gentleman for your videos ... Angie
Mark Johnson YOU have that right to think what ever you want and say what ever you want..Just like I can say a lot about you BUT I'm better then that and you so I will not ..Have a nice day
Angela Bodine obviously a sensitive issue for you, and understandably so...kilts arent mere fashion items or edgy virtue signalling attire. However, I hope you have an especially nice day.
I often remind myself
IT'S NONE OF MY BUSINESS
WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK
what an awesome line!
Glad you guys stuck to your guns and did it your way. I always try to block the haters. The internet has too many of those.

"This is my first class - take it easy on me." NEVER say that to a classroom full of teenagers. 🤣
Stephen, you are looking more and more like a buff Ewan McGregor. Good advice by the way - I love who you both are.
Great advice men!

Have a good day ,coaches!well said!😚😚 you are there for. support, ,thanks that video was cool.
Be a Kilted Coacheé or an Outcast:
Be who you are, be the best versions of who you are, recognize how awesome it is to be you every single time you can & assume it's awesome to be you as a principle of the universe.
Really very important vlog!

The Kilted Coaches I am going to and I am a wallace and I have a royal Stewart tartan kilt and a wallace tartan kilt
Hahah loved this! People just DON'T CARE when you so mad things in public! I had to dance in public for a video once and I was mortified but you just...get used to it 😂
I enjoyed the video gentlemen! Good advice! Coach Rab ...did you trim your chest hair?
Reading the comments makes me think I might be one of the few who struggles with this still. :) Some opinions are easier for me to shrug off better than others. Was even hesitant to comment on this video because of how I might appear. Again, I don't have this mastered but I'm working on it.
13:48 someone got the message lol
Tell yourself "it's none of my business what others think of me." It is my business to approve of myself and my choices.
It really works too! I’m sure you could manage an improvised version 😉👍🏻
I'm not a burpee fan. Can I just ride my bike in my kilt and stop by the nearest public bench and do some single arm DB row?
Interesting that a lot of passersby didn't even watch you. Good challenge. Thanks as usual.
Me and mate always enjoy wearing kilts on nites out. But some get knarked that we not Scottish😔
Just tell them you are fans of the kilted coaches and to “get to f*ck” if they have a problem 😂
The Kilted Coaches lol cheers will do never thought of that 😎😎
"Being open to one flaws and weaknesses" BOOM
Angie
Angela Bodine is it cross-dressing for a woman to wear a kilt ?
Mark Johnson .... No ..but to some like you I suppose it can
yes, it definitely is.
