Crazy the 918 is already 10 yesrs old. I remember seeing this one in Snowdonia being tested by Evo magazine and i stopped to talk to Jethro (he was in the Mclaren P1) and Henry Catchpole was with him, he drove off in the 918.. what a sound.

I remember 2013 to ~ 2016 when the Head of the 918 Engineering, Mr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, almost daily came in a 918 to work to the Weissach development center and entered the entrance. I work for Porsche and in that time I was also in the Weissach development center (Building 53) which was exactly behind the fence where the entrance was. So I saw that 918 very often for years and it never got boring. After the Carrera GT and Ferrari F40 one of my all time favorites. 😊

You seriously expect 1280nm of torque to grip on these base Carrera tires? And the sf90 has roughly the same wet weight if not more. Plus, in terms of engine specs, the Porsche has 200hp less, being n/a. And that's not including the Em's. With some proper tyre compound, the 918 would murder the sf90 from a dig. It would only lose when up to speed. And it'll still be faster on track, due to more advanced aero. They're both great cars, but credit where credit is due.

Forget about comparing both cars here in this race. Ferrari is just a different breed.......not just compared to Porsche, but to every other car in the world.
Next would be cool to see a 918 weissach package with aftermarket exhaust and ecu tuning and cooling upgrades and downpipe upgrades vs the new sf90xx coupe.. And winner goes against a revuelto with a stage 3 or stage 4 aftermarket performance upgrades so that means at least 1200hp because the revuelto seems to be at a huge disadvantage due to not having twin turbos.. Or an aftermarket supercharger upgrade for the revuelto would make an interesting challenge to the sf90xx..

the braking distances were roughly equal. If you look at the start of the braking zone the SF90 was a bit ahead of the 918. It may have been going a little faster than 100 or Watson started braking sooner, but the actual relative deceleration were equal.
It's impressive the amount of fanboys in the comments section. The 918 is from 2013 and the sf90 from 2019, so they're 6 years apart not a decade. This Porsche cost was arround 1,000,000 euros the Ferrari less than half. The sf90 is not the sucessor of the La Ferrari, is a cheaper and "unlimited" model. Also the braking test result was basically even. The sf90 was simply the clear winner. Having said that, if had infinite money i'd have the 918, but if money was a factor, sf90 all the way! Ps: Still clearly i'd prefer the P1 or the La Ferrari over the 918, despiste being more efficient on drag races with its awd.

For a car that’s a decade old, it’s simply incredible. The power, the beauty, the engineering. The 918 is more of a track car than it is a drag car, I’d love to see it on a track vs. the SF90. I can only imagine how incredible a modern day Porsche hypercar would be.

The 918 is from 2013 and the sf90 from 2019, so they're 6 years apart not a decade.
This Porsche cost was arround 1,000,000 euros the Ferrari less than half.
The sf90 is not the sucessor of the La Ferrari, is a cheaper and "unlimited" model.
Also the braking test result was basically even.
The sf90 was simply the clear winner.
Having said that, if had infinite money i'd have the 918, but if money was a factor, sf90 all the way!
Ps: Still clearly i'd prefer the P1 or the La Ferrari over the 918, despiste being more efficient on drag races with its awd.

For a car that’s a decade old, it’s simply incredible. The power, the beauty, the engineering. The 918 is more of a track car than it is a drag car, I’d love to see it on a track vs. the SF90. I can only imagine how incredible a modern day Porsche hypercar would be.

3.11 is one of the most visceral demonstrations on acceleration you'll ever see. Even though the SF90 misqueued, it just shows how quick the 918 is. The 918 is one of my favourite ever cars, but that SF90 is insanely quick
