Loved this episode. As a former police and military officer who has had to overcome two massive surgeries in the latst 4 years it’s so refreshing to hear from a guy that has a practical approach to his training and his therapeutic approach to recovery. Seems like Longevity is becoming a real ‘thing’. Happy New year.

I use the assault bike and go all out (try to) within every minute on the 40 sec mark until the end of that minute for 10 mins. It immediately increased my cardio (after 1 week)!

Just to piggyback off the first opening dialogue, your not healthier just because some high performing athletes and or entrepreneurs tell you to get up at 4am to crush it and be more successful with your time, the biggest problem today with the health/fitness world is that the recommendations have totally been mixed up with the business/hustle culture of endlessly trying to optimize everything down to the minute, and that's never been a recipe for longevity or health, in fact one of the simplest and healthiest things someone can do is not get up at 4am in the dead of winter well before sunrise...
Instead what you should do is simply sleep in longer to get that much needed rest and recovery from the busy day you had before but that's not a sexy marketing headline and wont help with the Instagram ad, so instead gurus and influencers and the hustle culture will tell everyone to get up super early and crush a workout, and then what happens is you have millions of working adults not fully rested because instead of slowing things down, simplifying everything and staying in bed longer to rest and recover, everyone is told to do more and more and that has never ever been a recipe for health.

Been following dr Gabrielle Lyon for a long time and I always agreed with most things she said. Yesterday she posted something about Veterans who where involved in proxy wars. This was the first time I ever responded by saying that she as a educated person with a health platform should be more carefull with presenting a one sided narrative !! Blocked my page directly !! When people talk about health and mindset but can't take criticism that was even presented in a decent way !! Just can't believe how a adult and educated person that uses her platform to discuss certain subjects blockes people who have more or broader vieuw about a certain subject she is no Expert in !! Thanks Dr Gabrielle Lyon. I have sended and promoted your page to a lot of people regarding diets and healt etc. Thanks !!

Alot of the dialog he opened with is hyperbole...
I get that he's trying to make an impactful impression, but over-exaggerating on everything in order to make a point, gets pretty old, pretty fast, imo.
NO one - in their right mind - is advising for 14 hours of Zone 2/wk.
40mn zone 2 (in one session) at least 1, maybe 2x/wk HAS been pretty regularly recommended by various sources who know their stuff.
NO ONE is recommending 8-10 hours sleep every night.
    No one, imo.
The more frequent recommendation for optimal sleep by various sleep experts (like Matthew Walker) is to strive for 7-8 hours sleep/night.

Agree - imo, he's full of hyperbole...not to mention his hyper & disjointed way of communicating.
Could find nothing he said that I could really put down to usable data - for myself.
      He's so-all-over-the-place with his content.
He doesn't like zone 2, bc it's 'so boring'.
Zone 2 training has been proven (in studies) to have cardiovascular advantages over & above others types of cardio training.
Jeeze...get me outta here😳 - he's advising for what HE personally enjoys as a training modality, and ignoring the studies, apparently.
