It's been a while so it's time to choose the winners of the giveaway congrats to Henrik, Ruben and Gary (I left a comment under your comments, please send me an email to get your dust shoe). Thanks a lot for all of your comments! That was cool and I hope to make more of that in the future. Have a nice day!

Nikodem, been watching your whole series on the Indy Mill. Some day I might build one, but I have not done it yet. I don't want a dust shoe. I really just wanted to give you huge props for the project and channel. I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology, but not sure I would have put this project together even now without major help. The fact you are still in high school is absolutely amazing. Keep going and continue to do great things. Make some great inventions that will change the world.

I was looking forward to you releasing your "500W Dust shoe"-video for quite a while now! :) Just recently I got to a point where I can start my first milling tests with my self-designed desktop CNC. I'm hoping to use it mainly for milling PCBs. As that is nasty stuff I will definitly need an encolsure and a vacuuming-system. So if you have spare dust-shoe parts I will gladly take one :)

I also used a transparent pet sheet for the first time. Then I tried silicone, but it was very sucked in. As a result, it is best printed with nylon. The shape is about the same as you cut out the first time. But at the top it is thicker, at the bottom it is thinner to bend.

Hi Nikodem, greetings from Belgium :) Some months ago, I finished my dremel CNC (with some adjustments); though one of the remaining problems is still the dust which flies all over the place. If you still have a spare one, I realy could use it. Since Fusion 360 changed it's license system, I have problems launching this program, hence I can't design it anymore by myself... Btw: great stuff, keep up the good work, it's amazing how a young person like yourself can work all those things out!

You have new follower! :)...I watched couple of your videos, and there is a lot of great advises, and things that I can utilize... :)
I want to buy CNC, so I'm watching all videos on YT, and your videos are great... :)
Couple of things that I want to know:
-If you put masking tape or something like that on plywood, and cut it with CNC, do you get less chipped edges?
-How many passes you need to cut 10mm plywood with 3.175mm end mill?
-Can you make living hinge with 3mm plywood with CNC(I know that with laser you can)
-WIll you make enclosure for that CNC, to reduce noise and dust all over the place?
Sorry for my bad english. :)

Just wanted to suggest a solution to your 'dust shield', perhaps you can affix a bunch of thin but wide paintbrushes with nylon or stiff bristles. They should be flexible enough to move with your drill assembly & could help contain the dust particles better.
The only potential downside to this approach is that you can't see what you're milling.
*alternatively, you can try using a thicker acetate/acrylic sheet so that they would be stiffer & won't be pulled up by the vacuum's suction.
Cheers from Southeast Asia & looking forward to your next update!

Smart boy you are.

So, I am a student of control and automation engineering and a couple months ago I designed and built a CNC machine from scratch. The main goal to built one of this machines was to build combat robots due the robotics team that I am a member, but after some time the people around the city heard about me and started to searching me to do some woodworking, furniture. This made me so happy that I decided to start a business and now I'm trying to upgrade my CNC to attend the people searching for my job. One of my inspirations to build my machine was your channel, I saw that is possible to have a good machine starting with what you have and making upgrades. Would be an honor to receive one of this pieces that you designed, and even more, use them on my CNC machine. Thanks!!

Nice video, but the design of that dust shoe with the skirt is a bad idea in my opinion. U lose a lot of vacuum power with that. You should make the design something more like a real vacuum head that is closer to the material that you cut. Smaller in diameter so it will increase the vacuum force. Imagine something like the air assist for the laser head positioning, version 1: a ring around the head or version 2: something that sucks next to the drill. Keep up the good work. I like your video.

Try this: www.cnc3d.com.au/product-page/dust-shoe-brush-strip-70mm-100mm-bristles I got mine from Banggood but can't seem to find it there any longer. The longest bristles are too long and flexible - they get sucked up into the air exhaust.

I prefer a transparent material so that I can see what's going on
