Yep. Probably because he really wanted to play vilon: 1) He was born this way 2) He is left handed (obvious) 3) Violin bows are held with the dominant hand, he doesn't (can't).
Then I saw his hand Unbelievable As a left-handed violin player, I was often complaining about the lack of precision of my right hand, especially when it comes to hold the bow properly. This video shows me that nothing is impossible.
I know the feeling! I mean, when you see what Adrian does, all your complaints about your own difficulties seem trivial, you know? I mean, me: I can't bow well and I suck at fourth finger. Adrian: I have a stub right hand Me:...oh...

Hot damn this guy's good. I didn't even realize he doesn't have a right hand. I was just listening to this minimized. With or without a right hand, this guy is one of the best violinists I've ever heard. Seriously mind-blown haha.
I taught a little boy who only had fingers on his right hand. Of course I taught him on a violin set up so that he used his fingers on the right. My student was fortunate enough to have a lesson with Adrian early on. He used a prosthesis which the technicians called a spatula to hold the bow. Adrian had a physical advantage because his right forearm is also shortened which helps the angle of the bow. My student had a full length arm but no fingers on his left hand. As the spatula prevented the wrist from bending the bow was always very crooked. Eventually my student developed an interest in singing and drumming and he is now at an Arts high school. I hope it worked out for you and your student.
Why were we looking at the back of the piano in those last beautiful seconds when I very much wanted to see him play those notes. This man has showed me that having shorter arms than one might want is not an issue, it won't stop you making something incredible. I have never been so wrong about anything. Beautiful.
I even didn't realize that he has a deformed right hand until I saw the comments and looking closely! His playing really covers all his imperfectness. Bravo
This is awe-inspiring. My heartfelt salute to Mr. Anantawan! For 3 months, I've actually been teaching a student with only one hand, only that hers is the RIGHT hand. I have been training her on open strings and wondering what else I could do in future. Now thanks to this video, I'm planning teach her ALL OVER AGAIN. I'll devise a "right-handed" violin and teach her left hand skills on her right. Meanwhile I'll consult my designer friend who could make a left-handed bow. God bless you, Adrian.
Wow this is certianly one or THE best perfomrance of this incredible song i have ever seen. Even with your handicap you have been able to make this song even better you have touched my heart by playing it like you have done. I hope that you will continue to do the same to other people and show them that nothing is impossible
There's Perlman, then there's you. Wow!!! What an amazing inspiration you are to me as a fellow violinist. No matter what ,we must keep playing. You've touched me greatly my friend. God Bless you.
I've had the opportunity to hear Adrian play live and he is always phenomenal. I've also met him and played for him as he used to have the same teacher as me. He is an amazing person and such an inspiration.
Mr. Adrian, you are the most inspiring artist. I once had an accident that made playing violin difficult and painful. But seeing you play so beautifully was so meaningful to me on so many levels, especially since you pulled through with playing violin with so much more standing in your way than in my case. Thank you so very much for sharing your music. God bless.
Adrian, this is beautiful. I know that Ben is listening to this and enjoying every note. Thank you so much for being such a wonderful person. Ben was indeed fortunate to have met you.
His mom was my tutor and I always heard him practicing. I play violin and my dad knew that I thought it was so cool that I could hear him playing and he walked by one time when my dad was dropping me off and my dad asked him to play a song for me and it was sooo cool. he's so amazing and passionate when he plays!
He may not have a right hand, but he has plenty of heart. Beautiful and moving rendition. You are an inspiration to me and to so many others. Bravo Adrian!
Adrian Anantawan játéka annyira magával ragad, hogy igyekszem többször meghallgatni. Nagy örömöt szerez vele, a legjobbakat kívánom további munkájában a zene terén!
Santo Dios!!!!! BRAVO!
violin has been an enormous part of my life for fifteen years now and i have never been as touched as i was when i watched this. seriously, you're such an inspiration to me. don't stop being incredible.
Beautiful playing! You are amazing. I could never have guessed about your hand if wasnt for the video! Well, I would probably have chosen brass in your place, but you got great imagination!
This is amazing.. I can't even play with both of my hands... and this man is disabled. I'm so jealous right now. People, give this man a round of applause
His surname, I thought he's Thai born Canadian. Lucky enough, he was born or might be moved there since a child, If he was in Thailand now, No opportunity would happened to him like that at all... goosebumps for his play, by the way......God bless you
Bloody hell indeed ! - The ciggy dropped out of my mouth when I realized why your bowing wasn't too straight - I was only looking for a violin and piano version because it has more of a duet chemistry ( too many cooks...) - I was puzzled how you could get such an intense and moving sound with that bowing - I'm going to have to end my many-months-long absence from FB just to share this Everybody should see and hear this - I don't think I will ever play another version again...
This digs really deep and pulls out emotion from the depths of my heart. Such a beautiful piece of music and played with such perfection and grace. Incredible and moving !
Mr. Anantawan: You have shown us that you do not have barriers. I am learning from you that now. It is my time to be strong and carry on as well. Congratulations for your lesson of life trough music. Thank you so much.
When I looked at the beginning of the video the first thing I thought was "he's positioning the bow incorrectly", but when I saw him holding the bow I was amazed! It truly means that anyone can do anything if they put their heart into it. I wish I could I could play the violin as amazingly as he is.
OMG I came across the video cuz I like the tune, played so nice, then I've notice Adrian's hand I still cant believe that was played like that to perfection.
Your interpretation and remarakble ability in drawing such a beautiful sound from the violin is truly heart stopping. Your performance is full of so much colour and emotion. Bravo. I would go as far to say that your performance equalled that of Mr Perlman himself.
you made the violin cry, i mean it. it is crying. great emotions adrian. such a great emotional power you have. you made the violin cry. but it is not sad about it
even musicians with two healthy hands don't come even close to this... because this has so much soul...
Jule L. Foreal
Yep. Probably because he really wanted to play vilon:
1) He was born this way

TwoSetViolin brought me here. Thank you Brett and Eddy!
I did the same and the way he plays are heartfelt... it's a performance that drives tears.
Same. He really is inspiring; like Brett & Eddy said he basically had to invent his own technique and it's amazing.
Same. Wonderfully heartfelt and moving. Achingly beautiful. ❤
Me too
this is the best performance of Schindler ever played.
I agree.
Rob Grune with one hand actualy
Rob Grune Most people suck at putting emotion in this song. This guy nailed it. He's pro af.
Yeah I've heard a bunch and the timbre of these two instruments was perfect for the musicians, they seem to have drawn out the emotion from them.
Then I saw his hand
Unbelievable
As a left-handed violin player, I was often complaining about the lack of precision of my right hand, especially when it comes to hold the bow properly. This video shows me that nothing is impossible.

He is such a great story teller. I could hear the sadness.
As a fellow violinist, Hats off to that performance!
omG, the melody of his playing is really piercing my heart, so soulful yet sorrowful
Adrian... As I type this, tears are rolling down my cheeks... You're so great. Thank you, thank you so much for playing.
I really like how we can see them both struggling with some emotions - that way they made that piece of art their own - perfect and original.
Wow this is certianly one or THE best perfomrance of this incredible song i have ever seen. I could not have said it better myself. The first time I heard it played by this remarkable individual I was also struck.
There's Perlman, then there's you. Wow!!! What an amazing inspiration you are to me as a fellow violinist. No matter what ,we must keep playing. You've touched me greatly my friend.

The piano player is almost crying
Yeah they both are it would seem. Seriously incredible performance.
Adrian's accommodative playing techniques are no doubt incredible. It is obvious that he truly plays from his heart.
Wow! Your heartfelt performance brings me to tears Adrian! Enormous talent!

Fortunate for us, it was his right hand. Truly moving.
If it was his left hand, maybe he could play it left-handed?
Ha Ran Jung
All the strings would have to be inverted, not to mention having to get the violin custom made. But nothing is impossible 😂
