Hello Shelley! I’m new to your channel. Started watching you last week. I’m 57 years old and love how you gear your content towards mature skin and best makeup for older women. I agree and have all those foundations you are featuring. I tend to use inexpensive for daily wear and higher end on important occasions when it matters most.
Great video today. I bought the Dior thanks to your review and I love it. An extra dab patted on a dark spot or two covers everything. I have dry skin and never have a problem with this fabulous foundation. Lasts all day and love it. Thanks, Shelly.
Thank you for videos like this. Really like this format. I need to get the Dior and YSL. I have the Estee Lauder and use it on regular basis. I had both the MAC Studio Fix Fluid and MAC Studio Sculpt but could not stand how they smell. They didn't look that good to get past the scent.

I LOVE that red lipstick on you! It looks gorgeous on you! I don't remember you wearing red before but this is gorgeous on you...so beautiful! Oh and I don't know if you still have the problem but if you still have the problem with your concealer...try a peach base first then a concealer. It's something I've learned recently from a bougie channel I watch.

I apologize if you have a video on it. I didn’t check which I probably should have, but have you ever tried the DIOR spray foundation? It works well for me. I spray it on my beauty blender or brush and then apply it.
Love. Love. LOVE all of your foundation reviews. So much information. I only wish there was someone out there doing what you do for combination skin. I am dry on the perimeter, but can get oily (not horrible) in the T Zone. I do prefer dewy to matte foundation. I'm 57. Any suggestions?
Do you watch Angie on Hot and Flashy? She's in her 50's and I think her skin is similar to yours. She does excellent foundation reviews as well and has her top ones ranked on her web site (that's what inspired me to put my list online as well!)
I posted before that I was concerned about the Dior because of the alcohol content. I am 10 years older than Shelly and have dry, dry skin. She is spot on. The foundation is beautiful!! As long as I moisturize and use the Good Molecules primer, I don’t experience dryness. Thank you!!!

I mix them but it's still not a match for me. I keep politics out of this space, but I'll say that I never thought I'd live to see a coup attempt on US soil or a president inciting insurrection in my lifetime, and I fully believe that the foundation of this democratic republic will prove stronger than any selfish, power-hungry cowards.

Hi Ann-Marie! My best match in EL DW is the shade 1C1 Cool Bone. It leans a bit on the peachy-cool side but not too far peachy. It's more peachy-cool than pink-cool.
Have you tried LA Girls mixing medium's? we don't have LA GIRL in stores but I have seen so many YT'ers use them if they have olive undertones etc. Was just thinking about your opinion about them- Have to say your spreadsheet is Amazing 👌 thank you for making it - its very helpful ! Yep, 46 - I think all of the years that don't show up on my face are screaming in my knees instead 😂 Daily sunscreen is the biggest component I think - stop the thing that causes so much of the signs of aging and you won't see the signs of aging so soon! I didn't get super into skin care (other than sunscreen) until I hit 40 so I give sunscreen most of the credit. I'm also a huge fan of retinols/retinoids.

Hi Kara! Usually what I use to determine if I'm going to set it with powder or not is whether, after giving it a couple minutes to set down itself, the foundation stays tacky or if it dries down completely. If it dries down enough that I can blend powder blush/bronzer on it without it grabbing and looking patchy, I will skip setting the foundation with powder - but on me that's probably 1 out of every 10 foundations I can skip setting - probably less even. So to set, I use a very soft non-dense fluffy powder brush (that's part of the trick - if the brush is too dense, it will lay down too much powder in one spot, making it look cakey). I go very light on dipping the brush into the powder, and I concentrate on the areas where I'm going to apply blush and bronzer, so my cheeks and the perimeter of my forehead. I do NOT dip in for more powder after that, and just take whatever is left on the brush through the rest of the center of my face. And I use a dabbing motion with the brush, lift and press, not really a brushing motion. At the very very end I might just barely touch the skin with a sort of swirling motion on my cheeks to give it a smooth finish but literally barely touching the skin with the brush. It takes a light hand and a fluffy brush to prevent it from caking up.

I've done numerous searches on YT for setting demos, and the 2 or 3 I've found aren't nearly as suggestive of needing or having the kind of expertise, care or skill as you describe. I realize that this is probably also dependent on practice and attention to what one is doing, and details probably vary a bit for each person, each face. It's hard on the skin to do this, bathe it off, do it again, & repeat several times, on the same day. 😨 I might be at a disadvantage since I haven't worn makeup for years like most others, therefore still learning SO many things at once. Regarding the ELDW: This if my first time seeing ur review of this foundation. I think I understand what is bothering U about it--- When U say "it"s not filling in the lines" (naso-labial folds I think) therefore causing shadows.. Put another way: This foundation is so high coverage that it almost perfectly covers every hill and valley or tiny little crevice on the face (would have a field day with a zit!!) so it might allow critical eyes to make note of things which usually wouldn't be noticed, such as every rise and fall of the skin,,,aka texture.. The lines you have are acceptable but for someone a little older, the number of lines and depth might be far too numerous to be acceptable. That's why I shy away from high coverage, or full coverage and appreciate medium or sheer coverage. It's akin to "blurring" things which I don't want noticed. I might have fun with this makeup the 30 days immediately after getting injected with Juvederm & Restylane, but when it starts wearing off, I couldn't wear full coverage makeup anymore, till next time I get lines smoothed out with hyaluronic acid. ***Just want to add that the PLUSES about a foundation such as this is when you have a really beautiful face it accentuates the curves of your face and your bone structure and so forth and so that's why it's a desirable Foundation if you don't have to worry about the other side of it which is: the ravages of time!!!🤓😨🤗

It's still that way, yep. I've heard lots of explanations for it but none that I can confirm as official.

I too can never find a shade in too faced. Porcelain is not that, way too dark.
Yeah I stopped swatching the TF porcelain in other videos because it's just a terrible representation of anything porcelain should be!
