sewing is no less manly than cooking! You're the 2nd tuber I've seen this week to make a similar comment, it's a life skill and just like I taught my sons how to cook and sew and wash dishes my daughters can do a tuneup or brake job on their car and are as comfortable with a table saw or nail gun as they are with a nail polish bottle.. keep the great videos coming....
+Doc Ink As a woman who owns a power drill and isn't afraid to use it, I salute you!! It is a life skill, and as David Pearson himself has pointed out before, skills can be used for barter should stuff hit fans.
+Doc Ink Absolutely Doc! Skills are skills no matter what the process or what ever the machine is. Great to hear the skills you have taught. Thanks for watching!
AWESOME ideas David, I'm just soaking all these informative videos in like a sponge. I love the way you use scrap metal and other things that most people would throw away, and turn it into life saving survival equipment. My dad always used to tell me " A good soldier never falls short", and "Waste not ,want not".
Tied up my first ridgeline in a long time in the freezing wind..... Mán, that fidgeting with that cord tying knots above your head has me convinced I gonna need me some bungee cords! Thanks for this video.
That was awesome!! If you pre-glue the material while it's still inside out to the one end of the bungee, let it set and harden then pull it through. You might find you will be able to turn it right side out and insert the bungee at the same time!!.Then all you have to do is glue the one end!!Thank you for posting!!
+joanna lanzoni Thank you Joanna! I'm happy you liked it. I gotta say, that is a brilliant idea! Not only will it save time but, it will also make the edge of the cloth tube folded over itself making a neater looking edge! Great thinking!
Brilliant as always. You have some of the most informative videos on the tube. You have a true gift as a outside the box thinker and craftsman. I appreciate your talent and to show it to the world is awesome. Thanks for all you do, I really enjoy it.
+Roger Bartley Thanks Roger, I'm glad you like what I do so much. I have always tried to show very different and never before seen stuff as often as possible. Take care and Thanks for watching.
Thank you David for taking your time and showing your method on making the bungee-cords. 34 mins. for us to watch, yet took you hours to do. I have to get a sewing machine now and learn how to use it. lol You and yours take care, God bless and Watch your 6's!
+MUTT N.C. You are very welcome my friend! These vids do take way longer to plan and film than the actual finished video turns out to be. Thanks for watching and may God bless you!
another excellent video..I also bought the 100 ft bungee and made my own with regular carabiners that work just about as great as yours,,the cloth cover is better than mine..but with 100 ft,,,, I can make more anytime I need.i use wire ties to attach the bungee to the carabiners without having to tie a knot with a rubber band!!!!all I do is fold the end over and wire tie it with three small ties...it holds great.thanks for the video..I watch for yours!!!
+polishpicl Sounds great! I honestly havent tried making my own bungees but it sounds like a good way of making em cheap. Im planning on making two 50 ft. bungees. For what tho, youll see. LOL.
Sewing ladies ALERT: pool cue tube turner! And never mind your rotary cutter: just grab a great big sharp bushcraft knife and slice away! Husband uses your good shears? Use his hunting knife!! RBM1 has outdone himself with this one! He MAKES things that work for him and many others around the world. Love him!
Dave, great explanation on how to modify those bungees. Way back in your first video that you showed them, I got inspired to try my hand at it. I cheated though and bought tubular webbing and slid it over the bungees and hot-glued it. I don't have a sewing machine or the skill to make the covers. like you said, it will just about last forever. mine are still going strong after a couple of years. can't wait to see what you make with 100 ft of bungees. take care.
+Cantab Hiker Thanks, I'm happy you liked it. Thats a cool idea on how you made yours. Oh, Im going to make two 50 ft. bungees. For what, youll see. LOL. Thanks for watching my friend!
I bought 2 just from watching a few of ur vids.i recently went on Amazon and bought 1 48 in.i liked it so much without even trying it I bought anouther.now I just viewed this video cause I remembered u talking about them.well just so turns out I bought the rite brand but longer then u recommended for the pack.all good after watching this video I realize I can use them for other set ups. I'm going to order the 24 in.thanks Dave.great help.dont have a sewing machine. Have to work ok on that.lol.alot of hand sewing. 🤣👍🔥
Great to hear you bought a bunch! Them bungees have alot of uses. If anyone you k know sews they should be able to knock out some tube sleeves very fast. I sewed up my first set by hand and it took forever. Take care and thanks for watching
My friend this was great. I had a good old laugh with your "tactical sewing" then had stitches when you were sat in front of the sewing machine in olive top and cam pants with glasses on. Bloody brilliant. Showed the wife and was told I'd probably do the same. Glad to see Nick back and the do rag made an appearance lol. No like/dislike this time mate just flat out enjoyed the show and tell. Always a pleasure to watch your videos. Thanks for posting and take care mate.
+Matt Lilly LOL, man I had to offset the glasses and sewing machine with the olive drab and camo. Remember, its a manly chore only if you look manly. Im happy you liked it and Nick says Hi. Take care and Thanks for watching Matt!
Very clever. As usual you provide a simple solution. Another advantage I see besides saving the cords from abrasion, it'll keep things clean from the cords when they get really old and the deteriorating rubber turns into a powder residue. At least that seems to happen very quickly with with cheap bungees down here. The heat inside the cars just bakes them into a crumbling powdery mess. Mybe I need to buy better ones.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Also, sun deteroiates cords fast too. I think these cords are a little better than the el cheapo ones they sell. Thanks for watching
Those are really nice. I've seen you and Ulrica both using them and thought that the cloth covering was very smart. I really like how much thought and effort you put into making things to fit your needs.
I made up two sets, 24&36 inches finally thanks to your assume tutorial!!! And yes, they are invaluable! They now became my best camouflaged woods buddies! And you know how we love camo! Did I say that again??? :) Thanks loads.
+john- waxerone Sounds awesome John! Man its amazing how well these work and once you have a set you wondered why you didnt have any earlier? Oh, and everything works better in camo. LOL. Thanks for watching!
Great video and I always use bungees for my tarp because of the wind. Being from bicycle country and no swamps we have these bungees they use on bicycles (and a lot of other things) in different lengths and cheap as f***. They have hooks and not carabiners. When I set up camp, either hammock or just the tarp, I have the fixed cord with loops for around the tree so my bungees never rub against anything. But we don't have swamps here and never visited a swamp area and I can definitely understand why you want to elevate everything. Even the fire pit. All in all good craftsmanship and I'm also a guy that knows how to use a sewing machine. It's all about skills.
@@Reallybigmonkey1 In my country there's 1,5 bicycle for every person. LOL So these bungees with hooks are available and cheap. Different sizes and different bungee thickness etc. You could make a sleeve for them as well because I agree that tree bark could damage them. But I adopted the TTTM hammock setup system and it works for me with everything. Hammock, tarp, mosquito net setup some 4 minutes. In this setup I do use bungees for the tarp but just click in the cord. People do underestimate the easy of use and benefits of bungees.
Dave, For turning your covers inside out, you might want to look at a long crochet hook or a dowel rod with a screw in cup hook on the end. Pin a medium to large safety pin to one end of you tube/cover, slip your hook through the sleeve, catch the safety pin, and pull it inside out. The smaller diameter crochet hook or dowel will make it easier to pull the sleeve through itself.
i wish i had Your ability to see the solutions before the problems. Learning stuff every minute of Your videos , again amd again. Thanks a bundle and Greetings from WW2HistoryHunter
Man I just see what makes it easier in the woods. Or swamp, or mountains, or wetlands. LOL. Im happy you always learn stuff from me. Take care and Thanks for watching!
Man I just see what makes it easier in the woods. Or swamp, or mountains, or wetlands. LOL. Im happy you always learn stuff from me. Take care and Thanks for watching!
Repurposing is a key element to low tech camping. Not to mention easier on the budget. I want to thank you for showing this video. Now....if I could only figure out how to run one of those machines:-)
+TryNsurviveN Absolutelt brother. No need to go broke on gear. Repurpose it or make it. LOL, man not much to a sewing machine once you have spent a few hours goofing off on it.
Hi David and Nick! That mobile mount you got makes so much difference and of course Nick got the hang of it right away and did an awesome job with it! That swamp stove setup with the bungees is such a great idea--you really did a good job showing the different uses for it, just for the stove alone! My face is aching from smiling so much😄😄😄😄 Only YOU can make a boring task like cutting a piece of material into something funny and interesting! All the best--Stella
+Stella P. Hello Stella! Oh that mobile mount is awesome! No more squeaky tri pod. I love it when Nick comes along. Oh, and all men cut cloth with a machete. You didnt know? LOL. Thanks for watching!
This is a really good video, David! The timed-sequences are so slick they just meld together. Congratulations on the new camera set-up with the mobile mount, Nick (I'm sure it has something to do the excellent cinematics! ) Thanks for the tutorial on DIY cloth covered bungee cords! Virginia and I started thinking about making a couple of sets for our gear. I think I have some strips of rip-stop fabric in the remanent box... time to get started! Thanks again, Clark and Virginia
+Virginia Bradley Thanks! I just tried to film a few scenes outdoors to open it to keep it from being boring with all the sewing. Im over joyed at how the camera mount worked. I hated that squeaky old tri pod. Very cool yall are making some bungee covers. Good luck with it and Thanks for watching!
Awesome stuff. Appreciate you sharing stuff that has worked for you. I think you talked me into trying them out on my next trip. Can't wait for your next video! Thanks from your neighbor right down hwy. 53! Hope to talk with you again soon.
+David Conway Thanks David, I'm glad you liked it and gonna give it a try. You may even find uses for them other than what Ive done here. Take care and Thanks for watching.
Nice surprise this afternoon! New video! :) Thanks for the update on where to find them, I've been wanting some.. .. Guess I can get good and curious for the next one, 100 ft of shock cord .. Hmm ;) lol .. Thanks for the fun David :)
DAVE, your back! Missed you pal. Even as an older Sub I really appreciated this Bungee Video. As usual, no mater what you share it is always enlightening., diverse and so fun to watch then put into practice. Dave your channel has always been my top most favorite channel on you tube. I don't want to miss anything you produce. I don't do Facebook, but let me know if you do Instagram or any other sources I should use and how to find you on them so as to insure I don't miss anything you produce. Again thanks for your generosity and a personality that is absolutely delightful!!
+Big M Smith Always great to be back on here man. Im happy you like all I do. For now, all I am on is TH-cam. I left Facebook because that place is nothing but trouble. Im not on Twitter or Instagram or anything else right now. You tube keeps me pretty busy. Take care and see ya in the next one!
Reallybigmonkey1 hey another question, if you were starting out with machetes, knowing what you know now, which would you start out with? Ontario Knife Kukri or K-Bar Kukri? Or even something else? Thanks again for your time brother!!!
Great video Dave. Interesting how to make those. Plus they're multifunctional! They hold things and they double as exercise equipments! Put a couple of those things together and you can get in some workout! Lol. Look forward to the next video.
Those of us with boats that we keep tied up have been cutting down old fire hoses that have been retired , they are extremely abrasion resistant , and some fire dept's. will actually give them to you . The wave action , and tide rise and fall tears up even the best rope out there . By doing this we can extend the life dramatically of our mooring ropes . Check out boating tips and you can see what a lot of us do . Best of luck . Keep the great vid's. up .
+Scouting Free Thanks Marc, I'm glad you liked it. Now the whole start to finish is out there. Im still trying to find time for your live blog bro. Thanks for watching.
Very nice. Of course i've seen all that cool stuff in your past videos. Wow that camera mount is way better. So smooth.. Good to hang out with ya, and see whats new. Take care..
+Indy Outsider Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Sometimes I like to drag up old items from past videos to use in new ones. Man Im happy with that new camera mount! Thanks for watching.
Hey Dave-- nice to see ya' out... Nicer to see Nick was with ya'. Bet you were pretty happy about that, too!!! Nice to see the ol' swamp grill again, too!!! Greetings from next door!
+Carolina Chris Outdoors Always great to be out and about with Nick! I need to break out more of my old cook sets and cook some food. Thanks for watching Brother Chris!
Thank you for making and posting this one, with more info. on the coverings. All of ours will be covered. You aren't really saying that the material needs to be anything really durable, which surprises me. Any preferred material? The old, "your scraps are better than mine" may apply...
+johntruuu You are very welcome my friend. I'd say anything you cover em with is good as long as it protects if from tree bark. Two things to remember, dont make em too heavy and dont let the covers affect the stretching abilities of the cord.
You have to have a lot of patience to sew. I'm starting some leather work and I have watched leather pros sewing leather. I don't think I'll go as far as buying a sewing machine. I'll stick to hand saddle stitching only. Thanks for the video Dave. See you next time.
+yellowdeer 7 I didnt have any patience sewing until I got sick of hand sewing. LOL. What little leather work I do, its by hand. Take care and Thanks for watching!
Really cool! One tip I would offer, you might want to use some other glue instead of the hot glue, because if you are ever in warm/hot environments, that glue loosens up or will re-melt, as I found out.
Buddy that's 100% cool. Thanks for the wok in the woods and the look around! Thumbs up from the wet lands of Fl :)~~JohnPS NIIIIIICK! always good having your boy around!!
Boy Dave you gave me an idea when you showed that bulk bungee!! I can see a quick setup tarp ridge line in my future! The bad part of rope or paracord ridge line is one side is always so wide going around a tree.
Great video David. As always.. Covered mine last year. We use the heck out of those carabiner bungee cords. Enjoy having them covered, so I can tell them the covers protect the cords an they look cool.LOL Also Glad Nick was with you..
@@Reallybigmonkey1 like your videos and your knowledge I have the same thoughts what can we make something better for the field share 👍your closer to Ohio then I am and for you’re fyi and your boy hopefully you can make it to the next pathfinder gathering coming up in 2023👍🤔👊
Liked very much that you made Nick a mobile camera man! :) Nice video for your nice and smart cloth covered bungee´s. I think I keep to the scissors Ha ha. Thanks for sharing.
+Gullrica Thanks Ulrica, Nick does make a good camera man/mount. LOL. That mount is attached to his shoulder. No scissors for me, I like living on the edge. LOL. I'm glad you liked it and Thanks for watching my good friend!
LOL! I guess I am. I never thought much about sewing until I discovered that about half the gear I wanted no one made it so I figured I would just make it myself!
I recently started trying my hand at sewing with a machine . The LORD Blessed me with a 1950's singer machine I stumbled upon at the thrift store . I ended up only having to shell out 28 dollars cash with a little trade for it . This machine can sew through 6 layers of denim and 4 to 5 layers of canvas .
HI, incredible uses that have the elastic bands. I'd like to make a purchase of them. Could you send me a purchase link? The problem is that I live in SPAIN. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Thanks! This link www.amazon.es/Am-Tech-pulgadas-clips-Bungee-S0615/dp/B0051MQ2CC/ref=sr_1_15?__mk_es_ES=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&keywords=Bungee+cord&qid=1560042088&s=gateway&sr=8-15
Another great vid, Bro. After seeing these cords in one of your earlier videos, I went a-lookin for some and took me a bit, but I finally found em. They are prob one of the most useful pieces of kit I carry. Building shelters, cooking, ect. "Be flexible, or you'll break"...............Deep, Dude, DEEP!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the awesome work!!!!!!!!!!
+Vin DiVergilio Thanks Vinny, I'm glad you liked it. Thats cool you got some cords! Man theres a million uses for em round camp. Stay flexible and Thanks for watching!
Great video. Thanks for sharing all your tips. Perhaps heat-shrink tubing to secure the ends instead of glue? Not sure how tight it would be. Maybe an inner tube ranger band?
+Michael Canning Thanks Michael, I'm glad you liked it. That would work I bet. The glue has held for three years so far so I havent gotten around to trying any other method yet.
+Mr. Tolly (AKA: fatmantolly) Thanks, Im glad you liked it Mr. Tolly. Them covers make the bungees last a lot longer against tree bark. Thanks for watching
Dave, another Great and informative video. I will have order some of those bungees for sure, oh and learn how to sew. Yep I don't know how to sew...lol. See you in your next video, Peace my brother.
Very impressive cutting fabric with a knife! And I bet you learned how to sew because you took home ec in school to be close to the girls never thinking for a moment that you would use those skills when you got older. ;P Great video again. I just love watching them.
+Carla Cox Thanks Carla! Actually the big knife was the sharpest thing I had.. LOL I never took home ec. Actually, I learned how to sew by watching youtube videos! Aint that neat? Take care and Thanks for watching !
Never in my 35 years of being alive have I ever said I want to buy myself a sewing machine and learn to use one till I started watching your videos. Been begging my girlfriend to teach me how to see now lol
seriously M8 - you need to make these incredible cook grills (the bowl and the swamp system) available for sale. You have so many things like this on so many videos and those of us who do not have the skill, the tools (to shape the materials properly) or the workspace to make them without ruing our kitchen tables) would gladly buy them from you. If you don't have the time to make that many, you could actually hire people. Please think about it. If you bought them, please list the links because I have been unable to find them. Thanks for another great video. Oh, and BTW, I just ordered a few more carabiner bungee clips to use while hiking and backpacking. I had never thought to use mine for this too so now I need more :-)
Thanks Andre! Pretty much all my cook sets are homemade. I have no idea if I'll ever sell or market any but I'd like to. Thanks for the comments and thanks for watching
Another great video to "stretch" our usefulness. BTW - I noticed that you have a Singer sewing machine. You might want to try to use the stretch stitch because if you pull on the stitches it doesn't rip or break the stitching.
+Dr. Ron Goldstein And, it stretches your imagination. LOL! I do have a singer but honestly I dont know which setting is the stretch stitch. Can you explain what the setting is labeled as?
That's what makes your videos interesting , cause u do things different from others . 👍🏻😀 I can you them to make me a target for my crossbow, thank you.cant wait to see the others😀😎
Nice. I looked those up on Amazon and they are a tad pricey. I will look into shock chord and hog rings and heat shrink tubing and make some. I can see where various custom lengths would be nice for use in the P/U bed for securing gas cans etc. Thanks for the ideas.
I am thinking about buying some of those cheapo sets of bungees and cutting the hooks off ....then put some heat shrink on and then fold them over a carabiner and hog ring them. I have the hog rings and pliers.....Never mind.....I see where I already said that.....a senior moment.
NNIIIIIIIICCCCCCKKKKKKKK, good to see, or hear you again ! ah, the good ol bungee grill, or the swamp grill......... how we love them ! sure as hell the most interesting way of cutting cloth iv ever seen, but if wasnt out of the norm it just wouldnt be a reallybigmonkey video ! got to make me some bungee cords ! great to hear nick and see you dave !
+Kerry Ward LOL, man its always great to talk Nick back into filming some. I felt good about cutting the cloth with a machete until a friend asked me why I didnt use a chainsaw. Hee Hee. Take care and Thanks for watching Kerry!
David.Another enjoyable video.Looking at your latest ideas brings me to the discussion on your book rack. Did you ever get around to the Horace Kephart ( campfire folding reflector oven) as designed by the man himself. A really great addition to any woodcrafter's kit . Thanks for your time and effort, and ideas of course. Cheers Waldo
+Waldin Robey Thanks Waldin, I'm glad you liked it. As far as Kepharts reflectors, I have made a few in the past and was shocked to see that one painted with high temp black paint, works better than a polished stainless one! I may have to dig out one of my old ones sometime to video it.
Just found some at a Pilot Truck Stop, from Saline Tie Down Products, that have Caribiner ends and a ring in the middle, and the protective wrap. $6.99 for 24". I'll have to see what other sizes they make.
Very C00L job you did on this, David. I seen something you might want or Not try here. On your stick you used to pull the cloth inside out....You could put an small little Hook in the end of it, to hook one end of your bungee's and when you pull the cloth thur the bungee's are coming though also. Just one pull would do both things at once.
Another great video. I have got to make me one of those carabiner bungees. of course, first I have to get a sewing machine and learn how to use it! lol
Recall the scene from the original Rambo…Sheriff: ”What’s the knife for?” RBM1: “Sewing.” I have yet to spend much time with the sewing machine I acquired some time ago but it’s on my list of things to learn.
Lol, I remember that scene. What do you hunt with a knife like that? You name it. I absolutely love having a good sewing machine. Thanks for watching my friend

I agree, it's a skill that needs to be still taught as it was for me in Home Economics class in middle school.
Man, Dave. There just ain't no school like "Fun in the Woods". It's "edu-tainment"! Thx Brother.
+eqlzr2 LOL, I love that saying! Thanks for watching Brother.
Thank you, Dave, for illustrating not only how to use the bungee cords, but how to make them. Good stuff. My curiosity has been satisfied.
You are very welcome John and I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching

+CrankyPants I couldnt find the carabiner bungees in Sweden so he was very kind and send me two of his. :) They are indeed smart and look cool :)
+CrankyPants Thanks, I'm glad you liked it my friend. Thanks for watching!
+Gullrica They look even cooler when you use them!
I'm glad you liked it and man it's so cool hearing how things are done in different areas! Thanks for the comments and thanks for watching brother
I love your videos and your humor makes my day and I get allot of ideas from you please don't quit making these vids. Thanks your fan Ronnie
+Ronnie E. Thanks, I'm glad you like all I do Ronnie. I plan on making these vids as long as I can. Thanks for watching.
Okay, so that's how you make those. The "making of" videos are great.
And of course the swamp grill is pretty cool.
Great camera work, Nick.
I'm happy you liked it Chris, Thanks for watching
Dave,
For turning your covers inside out, you might want to look at a long crochet hook or a dowel rod with a screw in cup hook on the end. Pin a medium to large safety pin to one end of you tube/cover, slip your hook through the sleeve, catch the safety pin, and pull it inside out. The smaller diameter crochet hook or dowel will make it easier to pull the sleeve through itself.
Very good idea! I cant believe I hadnt thought of the crochet hook before. Ive seen them.
jflin01 that’s how I restring all of my sons hoodies that have “lost” string 😂😅
Tho a pool cue was an awesome idea, as well 😉👍🙊
been watching you use these for a while, but could never quite figure them out. great vid. Thanks!!!
+Daddy Rat Cool now you know how they are made! Thanks for watching
Thumbs up for another awesome and interesting video. ...ken
+KennethKramm Thank you Brother Ken!
Hey David, as always, yet another great instructional video! I've watched a lot of your videos and love those bungees! Thanks again!
+Bob Bomatic Thanks Bob, I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching!
i wish i had Your ability to see the solutions before the problems.

+Stella P. LOL, I loves me some machetes!
+Reallybigmonkey1 lol :)
This is a really good video, David! The timed-sequences are so slick they just meld together.
Congratulations on the new camera set-up with the mobile mount, Nick (I'm sure it has something to do the excellent cinematics! )
Thanks for the tutorial on DIY cloth covered bungee cords! Virginia and I started thinking about making a couple of sets for our gear. I think I have some strips of rip-stop fabric in the remanent box... time to get started!
Thanks again,
Clark and Virginia
+Virginia Bradley Thanks! I just tried to film a few scenes outdoors to open it to keep it from being boring with all the sewing. Im over joyed at how the camera mount worked. I hated that squeaky old tri pod. Very cool yall are making some bungee covers. Good luck with it and Thanks for watching!
You always have some great Ideas .....I am wondering what you are gonna make with 100 feet of Bungee Cord !!!
+not2fast4u2c Thanks Brother! A little hint, its gonna be two 50 ft. bungees!
+Ruth Elgers LOL, nice wed. surprise! Yep, youll just have to wait on the 100 footer. LOL. Thanks for watching Ruth
👍's up and enjoyed my friend. And may the blessings of the Lord be upon you all.
+Randy Parker Thank you Randy! And may the Lord bless you too brother!
Good video David. look forward to the next one.
+Joe Nuccio Thank you Brother Joe, I'm glad you liked it. See ya in the next one and Thanks for watching!
As always RBM1, great video and thanks for taking the time to make it and share it ... I now have another project :)
You are very welcome Brother Gary and I'm glad you liked it. Make you up a set! Thanks for watching
+David Fiorini Thanks David, I'm glad you liked it. LOL, A little camp cardio system! Thanks for watching!
Love your show. It's my safe haven in this here crazy world. Chers from Sweden.👏🏽
+Staffan Karin Pappila Thank you Staffan! Its all crazy round here too. Cheers from Georgia in the U.S.A.
Keep the great vid's. up .
That's pretty clever. I never knew that was done.
Hey Dave! Enjoy all your vids and hope that you keep them coming! May have to try making some of these. Have a great day!
+MrMatthewcropley Thank you, I'm glad you like em all. Give these a try, they have a lot mores uses than what Ive shown. Thanks for watching!
The coolest and funnest bush craftier in the world. Thanks for your videos. Now hurry and make more.😂😂
Thanks! I try to keep things fun!
Great how-to Dave, I always was asking myself where you get these bungees! Thanks a lot for sharing brother! Cheers, Marc
+Scouting Free Thanks Marc, I'm glad you liked it. Now the whole start to finish is out there. Im still trying to find time for your live blog bro. Thanks for watching.
Reallybigmonkey1
Hey, take the time you need and just gimme a holla when you have some time :-) Cheers, Marc
I appreciate your videos. I'm glad you share your knowledge. Thank you
I'm glad you like it Robert and I'm always happy to share
Thats weird man. It stays above 90F here in the summer and my glue hasnt come lose yet
Out here in California I had some melt on me up in the High Sierras, right off of the backpack, which was in the sun.
Ah, now that makes sense. Im rarely ever in the direct sun. 90% of my time is spent under the thick forest canopy.
Buddy that's 100% cool. Thanks for the wok in the woods and the look around! Thumbs up from the wet lands of Fl :)~~JohnPS NIIIIIICK! always good having your boy around!!
+WORRO01 Thanks Brother John! Nick loved the new camera mount. He says Hi and we both say thanks for watching!
realy like these ideas. it really helps and gives very good options to make things easier for you. Thanks for sharing bro!
Thanks Brother! I have tons o ideas that may just make things easier. Thanks for watching
yah I always learn something practical I can use from your videos. Thanks bro...
this channel has come a long way man
+Matthew Hall Thanks you Matthew! Its been a long time since I started in 2011.
Boy Dave you gave me an idea when you showed that bulk bungee!! I can see a quick setup tarp ridge line in my future! The bad part of rope or paracord ridge line is one side is always so wide going around a tree.
+Leon J Sounds great! Order ya some in bulk length and get some hooks to go with it. Its gonna set up a super fast and easy ridgeline.
+Reallybigmonkey1 yeah a single ridge line using bungee vs a double on one side with para cord will be better using my hammock
Really cool, like I've said before bub you are a great fabricator!!
+SUFFICIENT SURVIVAL Thank you my friend!
Great video David. As always.. Covered mine last year. We use the heck out of those carabiner bungee cords. Enjoy having them covered, so I can tell them the covers protect the cords an they look cool.LOL Also Glad Nick was with you..
+RDLaw88 Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Thats cool you use them bungees so much! I love it when Nick comes along. Thanks for watching!
I know this is an older video but shouts out to you very impressive and thanks for sharing 👍👊makes me want to build some myself 👍💪
I'm glad you liked it Kristopher! These are super useful for camping, well worth making. Thanks for watching
@@Reallybigmonkey1 like your videos and your knowledge I have the same thoughts what can we make something better for the field share 👍your closer to Ohio then I am and for you’re fyi and your boy hopefully you can make it to the next pathfinder gathering coming up in 2023👍🤔👊
@ the end: _"Be flexible or you'll break"_ That's a good one!
Absolutely
Liked very much that you made Nick a mobile camera man! :) Nice video for your nice and smart cloth covered bungee´s. I think I keep to the scissors Ha ha. Thanks for sharing.
+Gullrica Thanks Ulrica, Nick does make a good camera man/mount. LOL. That mount is attached to his shoulder. No scissors for me, I like living on the edge. LOL. I'm glad you liked it and Thanks for watching my good friend!
Your turning into quite the Taylor. Lol I learned to sew to make my own gear also. Great work
LOL! I guess I am. I never thought much about sewing until I discovered that about half the gear I wanted no one made it so I figured I would just make it myself!
Great videos man thanks for all ur insight and wisdom
Thanks, I'm happy you like em Ryan!
Brother thats awesome! I am sure they do not make a machine as heavy duty as the one you have now.
Wok n roll,,,,thanks for all your time knowledge,I do appreciate it...
Thanks for watching Jason
Cool! The bungees are great. Happy camper here. Thanks!
If it ain't broke don't fix it I guess.
Thanks for the tutorial! Only five years later but timeless info there buddy.
I'm glad you liked it Randy!
@@Reallybigmonkey1 thank you for all you do! Still havent found any craton sticks for touching up blades though.
@@randybeeson3424 They sell them on Amazon under the name Cratex.
@@Reallybigmonkey1 wow thanks for the quick reply Dave. Even my grandkids are saying" heyyyyy everbody"😅
Hey theyre are a bunch and they all have different numbers.
Cool video, great idea to cover the bungee
+John Alexander Sounds great John! Ah man, you gotta learn to sew. The gear you can custom make is unreal! Be good man
Very impressive cutting fabric with a knife! And I bet you learned how to sew because you took home ec in school to be close to the girls never thinking for a moment that you would use those skills when you got older. ;P
Great video again.
LOL, Im glad you want one! Brother you just wouldnt believe the gear you can make repair or modify.
I love this! Gonna make this with different colors for different sizes
+Jan Herron Thanks! Sounds like a cool idea Jan!
seriously M8 - you need to make these incredible cook grills (the bowl and the swamp system) available for sale.
It looks like dashes overlapping. Also, read the manual, it should be there......
+Dr. Ron Goldstein Its an old machine, I have no manual for it but I know the signage you just described. Thanks Dr. Ron!
Reallybigmonkey1 there may be one online for it...chiming in 2 years later 😂🤦♀️😬
That's Kool I would never thought of that! Sweet! I'm a first time subscriber to your channel my name is Frank from Texas! Thanks for the tips!
Thanks Frank, I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for the sub and for watching
that bungee bowl stove is brilliant!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it
That's what makes your videos interesting , cause u do things different from others . 👍🏻😀 I can you them to make me a target for my crossbow, thank you.cant wait to see the others😀😎
+Josephine Young Thank you my friend. I try and show as different things as possible
Enjoyed your video and appreciate the info, Sir.
Thanks Richard! I'm glad you liked it.
Love the cook kits Bro...and the bungee cords I did always wonder where you got them....
+FSBushcraft Thanks Brother!
see Dave.. thats what make you so awesome.. who else sews with a knife and duct tape.. that is waaaaaaay cool.. cant wait for the next video..
+lisa norwood LOL, I do have my own ways dont I? See ya in the next one Lisa!
Nice. I looked those up on Amazon and they are a tad pricey. I will look into shock chord and hog rings and heat shrink tubing and make some. I can see where various custom lengths would be nice for use in the P/U bed for securing gas cans etc. Thanks for the ideas.
They can be kinda high but very handy!
I am thinking about buying some of those cheapo sets of bungees and cutting the hooks off ....then put some heat shrink on and then fold them over a carabiner and hog ring them. I have the hog rings and pliers.....Never mind.....I see where I already said that.....a senior moment.
Wow, I love this! I might cheat and use cloth, long strips of Velcro, and glue. 🙂
That's a good idea Anthony! With them velcro attached you can remove for washing or inspection.
Great video dave once again brother thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. Atb jam.👍
+Jam Thebushcraftman Thank you Jam, I'm glad you liked it. I'm always happy to share and Thanks for watching!
Thanks dave
I can't find those bungees in the uk so I have ordered some 6mm bungee cord and will tie sine different lengths to sine caribenas
That sounds good to me Mark
Great stuff as always brother.
Thanks for the video
+Eat Carbs Thanks Brother Mark! Be good man and Thanks for stopping by.
ALWAYS good to hear from you !
You only forgot one thing.... To Show the new camera mount!!!! (Is it a chest/shoulder/head band mounting? ) And where to get it.
+Grandpa Bill naw man thats the teaser to whole other video.
+Grandpa Bill Ah well, the new camera mount looks horrible! Its homemade and very sloppy looking but works great!
Nice. Great idea my friend. Thank you.
+campfire52 Thanks, I'm glad you liked it my friend!
David.Another enjoyable video.Looking at your latest ideas brings me to the discussion on your book rack. Did you
ever get around to the Horace Kephart ( campfire folding reflector oven) as designed by the man himself. A really
great addition to any woodcrafter's kit .
Thats great Franklin! As far as I can remember, they made a 24" 36" and a 48"
Very C00L job you did on this, David. I seen something you might want or Not try here. On your stick you used to pull the cloth inside out....You could put an small little Hook in the end of it, to hook one end of your bungee's and when you pull the cloth thur the bungee's are coming though also. Just one pull would do both things at once.
Thanks ,I'm glad you liked it Danny. Thats a good idea with the hook! Good thinking. Thanks for watching
Or just tape the cloth to the bunge cord/carabiner & pull thru!
Now i see it, DOH!!
Excellent David. I wonder how that would work with inner tube as a covering.
+NWIPrepper19113 Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I bet it would last twice as long as the cloth coverings but would be a little heavier.
Another great video. I have got to make me one of those carabiner bungees.
of course, first I have to get a sewing machine and learn how to use it! lol
+Bobs Edge Thanks, I'm glad you liked it Bob. Believe it or not, my first two covers were sewn by hand. I hated it! LOL.
awesome video man. this was a great watch
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching Jason!
