This is the Eurythmics at their peak On fire. Stax -soul Pop/rock.Dave solo's is something else's is Chucho's bass playing.(never heard a bass solo that is intrinsic to the melody and chord changes like this.)The black backing singer kind of growls like Aretha Franklin.Yowsre bowser bowser
Anyone remember watching this concert on VHS tape and just being WOW ? i was so envious I never had a CDVideo or whatever the disc format name was at the the time. Hugs from the UK.
aah the 80s. where drummers wore tuxedos and leads faded into the background for a few minutes to allow their bandmates to take the spotlight. i miss you ;-(
An utterly compelling concert. I so wish I had been there. I had the whole thing on video and wore it out, many years ago. It was a fantastic display of musicianship, talent and humility. Simon Cowell...etc have much to learn. Thanks for this...really.
The unadultrated look of joy on Stewert's face as he's laying his lead-esp. near the end-is worth the price of admission, esp. with Annie's big ol' smile while dancing & getting into it during the instrumental!
I am learning electric guitar, and I have always liked Dave's solo, so I am watching again here with that in mind, and loving how he's performing it. :)
2 more thoughts. A) Still amazed that they wrote this masterpiece of classic soul! Would've fit right in with the best when I was a kid & Soul (NOT disco) was still a powerful presence. B) This arrangement is fantastic, just takes the song to a whole new level. After a few lessons allow me to offer more profuse thanks for sharing, Brother!
@Gangly1 I had it on VHS and lost this concert and many other treasured videos due to water damage. Now I have them on my computer and can watch any time I wish. The digital age is awesome! My pleasure to share!
Wow, great version, great clip! Thanks for sharing with the rest of us! Far & away, hands down, my fave by them or even by Annie. Smokey, slinky, smooth...niiiice! Peace rock fans!

Back checking this out, am I the one who didn't realize what a really good guitarist Dave is? I knew he is a serious cut above creatively (hence his always having been in demand for work on others projects); but seriously, some tasty licks, nicely done Dave! Toss in some 1st rate bass work with the keyboards & vocals backing Miss Annie and seriously, it just doesn't get much more tasty! I could put this on repeat & let it go for hours! And seriously, NICE playing by Dave!
Her name is, Joniece Jamison. She is wonderful with Annie.

Could someone help? What is the name of the black girl singing in background. She is really great too, and have sing a while with them
She's Joniece Jamison. She had some hits in France with François Feldman ("Joue pas", "J'ai peur").
@redfishradical Couldn't agree more!
Looks like Dave has Prince's look...
More Like Prince Has Dave's Look!
@ker2012 It is a nifty song too=)
Live versions always destroy the original.
@nowheregirl08 No argument here!
Just didn’t like this at all. Prefer the electronic version from the album.
