Great reaction. I know we explained about the Trilogy of Lights when you reacted to 'Shine, but that was a long time ago, so I think it is worth repeating - these were the last 3 songs on the Metal Galaxy album. They describe the stages of mourning we go through after losing somebody close. 'Starlight' is about the initial shock and grief (also I hope you will watch a live version). 'Shine' is about acceptance and coming to terms with the loss (I hope you will also watch the Legend M performance, that one is extra special - just Su, Moa and a guitar on stage and Moa's choreo is incredibly moving and emotional). 'Arkadia' is about looking to the future and better times to come. It has never been said by anybody associated with BABYMETAL, but most fans believe the trilogy is a tribute to Kami Band guitarist Mikio Fujioka (RIP) who tragically died in January 2018 after falling from an observation deck where he had been stargazing ... it is just fan speculation, but it is hard to believe there isn't something in it, especially given the lyrics of 'Starlight' - "Wherever we are we'll be with you We'll never forget shining starlight Wherever you are live in my heart We'll never forget shooting star" and the Legend M performance in particular of 'Shine' would also suggest there is something in it. 'Starlight' was also released on the same day in October 2018 that Yui announced she would be leaving the band and Su has said she thinks of Yui and how she would have danced to this song, so maybe the tribute is for her as well. Only the Fox God knows.
Su is just amazing, you can hear the sorrow and emotional turmoil in her voice. I think Starlight manages to capture the feeling of the emotional roller coaster that occurs after losing someone. To me the chaotic instrumentals symbolize the sudden bursts of emotions that can be triggered by the smallest thing. On to the next, Arkadia! 🦊🤘
The first song in the trilogy of light... We all remember and miss Mikio Fujioka. The last concert Mikio played before his accident was the first concert Yui missed. What a brutal coincidence. Kitsune dao!
First time I saw this video I was a bit disappointed because no members were featured, but when I saw their show I finally found why they produced this video -- they used this as the background video when they played this song and it was pure EPIC.
Nice to see you're back with more BM songs, it's been a while since your reaction to Shine. Starlight is part of the officially titled Trilogy Of Lights, a set of songs to represent the ongoing cycle of birth, death and rebirth, but fans took this set unofficially as a tribute to Mikio Fujioka, beloved Kami Band guitarist, and YuiMetal withdrawal, both events in 2018, sadly. Both love stargazing, but Mikio Fujioka died days after falling from an observatory deck. R.I.P. Mikio 🙌 Fly high YuiMetal, tomato princess 🍅♥️. Next and final song of this trilogy: Arkadia, you can find live at Legend Metal Galaxy 2020 to enjoy that song. See you next time 🦊🤘🔥
Starlight is the first part of the Trilogy of Lights (Starlight, Shine, and Arkadia) which about about the grieving process and are believed by fans to be specifically a tribute to Babymetal's sadly missed guitarist Mikio Fujioka (RIP Kogami), though its never been officially confirmed. Starlight is about the anger and denial that comes when loss is fresh and raw, Shine is about acceptance and gratitude for having known the person you have lost, and Arkadia is about looking forward with hope and carrying the spirit of those you have lost with you.
Believed by fans with zero backing evidence as no one who is a part of BABYMETAL or even closely related to the group or anyone who works for the group officially or unofficially mentions it has anything to do with anyone ever.
Few fun facts: - Su said that she likes to sing Starlight, because she can go higher than usual - recording this song they used for the first time a 9 stringed guitar. The other song they used it on is BxMxC - This is the first MV without the 3 girls. Yui was still in hiatus, and they didn't want to shoot a MV without her, in case she came back! Distortion is the same.
While right now, I'm totally in love with The Other ONE, the Trilogy of Light from Metal Galaxy, even better, from day 2 of Legend Metal Galaxy at Makuhari Messe, well that 18 minutes are the best BABYMETAL ever played on stage. Absolutely the best. 🤘🦊⚡️
I've always loved this song, and think it's an underestimated gem in their catalogue. One of the best songs on the Metal Galaxy album, along with _In the Name Of_ and _BxMxC._
This is the first part of the Trilogy of Light...Starlight about experiencing loss (sudden death of guitarist Mikio Fujioka and departure of band member Yui-metal), Shine about dealing with sadness, and Arkadia about going forward with life.
This is the only Babymetal video I wouldn't recommend. The song is amazing and the live performance is even better. But the music video, well... let's just say I don't know what they were thinking. Please check out the live performance as well!
You've dug into what is known as "The Trilogy of Light", about the process after losing someone very important to you. "Starlight" (Pain, sadness), "Shine" (acceptance), and "Arkadia" (moving forward and living). 💙💙💙
Some see this as a tribute to either Yui who left the band in 2018 and was a avid stargazer, or the Kami band guitarist Mikio Fujioka who died in 2018 after falling from an astronomical viewing platform while stargazing.
It is neither there is absolutely zero evidence and this is pure speculation with no one officially or unofficially connected or even closely related to BABYMETAL has ever made this claim or even hinted at it ever.
It's a great song. But it was deeply saddened by Yui's departure from the original trio and the passing of lead guitarist Mikio. Unfortunately when I hear this song I am reminded of that. But it's a beautiful song. Mikio and Yui will always be in the hearts of Babymetal fans. 🦊🦊🦊

This song is so heavy but has also elements of a ballad.
Babymetal is so good at this...

Surprised you chose the MV instead of the LIVE performance. When you get an opportunity check out the LIVE it’s always better.

Babymetal singles chronology
"Distortion" (2018)
"Starlight" (2018)
"Elevator Girl" (2019)
Background and release:-
"Starlight" was first teased on October 4, 2018, as part of a trailer for Babymetal's first graphic novel, Apocrypha: The Legend of Babymetal (2018). The song was briefly made available on the band's official TH-cam channel on October 18, 2018 before being made unavailable. The song was officially released the following day, along with the official announcement of Yui Mizuno's departure from the band.
Su-metal has stated she enjoys singing the high parts in the middle of the track, linked to the choreography.
It is widely speculated by fans that the song is meant to be a tribute to Mikio Fujioka, a former live guitarist for the band who died earlier that same year.
Composition:-
"Starlight" was described as "pretty djenty" by Greg Kennelty of Metal Injection. Scott Munro of Metal Hammer commented that the song "starts off slowly but soon kicks into a frantic pace, complete with catchy chorus, thundering drums and slabs of crunching guitars", while Billboard called it a "ferocious and heavy melody that explores their signature hybrid of metal riffs and infectious vocal attacks".
Reception:-
"Starlight" debuted at number 41 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 for the week of October 29, 2018, with 1,150 first-week equivalent units. The following week, the song rose to number 24, with 1,637 equivalent units. Due to being released exclusively in a digital format, the song charted at number nine on the Oricon Digital Singles chart for the week October 28, 2018, with first-week downloads of 8,666 copies. In the United States, "Starlight" debuted at number seventeen and four on the Billboard World Hard Rock Songs and Billboard World Digital Songs charts, respectively, for the week November 3, 2018.
"SHINE"
The guitar which Moametal plays is a replica if not is one of Mikio Fujioka acoustic guitar 🎸. It represents the Analogy of Mikio Fujioka who passed away and Yuimetal who left Babymetal. Starlight is about remembering, Shine is about acceptance and Arkadia is looking forward to the future. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤟
'Shine' is about acceptance. Su-Metal and Moametal accepted the fact that Mikio Fujioka is watching over Babymetal and Yuimetal is no longer with Babymetal. Even though Moametal doesn't really playing the guitar which she could, the mood of which this song captivate and portray is mesmerising. Su-Metal and Moametal performed this song for each other and for current and former members of Babymetal. The acoustic guitar which Moametal plays is one of Mikio replica if not his collection which Mikio have. They are leaving the memories that Babymetal created together but not forgotten. Great reaction always. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬
Shine Lyric Overview;-
Twilight Past, Present, Future
Twilight過去現在未来続く道
Even in the middle of a never-ending journey
まだ終わりなき旅の途中でも
Believe in the miracle I met
巡り会えた奇跡信じて
We go to you
僕らは行く君のもとへ
Shining light Let's go
Shining lightさあ行こう
Shining road forever
Shining roadどこまでも
To an eternal journey beyond time and space
時空を超えて永遠の旅へ
Beyond space-time to eternity
時空を超えて永遠へ
Beyond the light
光の彼方まで
Beyond the light
光の彼方まで
Light to the other side
光よ彼方まで
Endlessly lasting
果てしなく続く
Even if you wander in the darkness
闇の中彷徨っても
A little light
僅かな光を
Taguriyosete
手繰り寄せて
The heart shouted
心が叫んだ
It doesn't matter if it breaks
かまわない壊れても
Dazzling light
眩い光が
Because it illuminates us
僕らを照らすから
Shining sky Let's take off
Shining sky飛び立とう
Shining road forever
Shining roadどこまでも
To a journey in space far away
遥か遠く宇宙の旅へ
Far away to space
遥か遠く宇宙へ
Shining light Let's go
Shining lightさあ行こう
Shining road forever
Shining roadどこまでも
To an eternal journey beyond time and space
時空を超えて永遠の旅へ
Delivered beyond space-time
時空を超えて届け
Shining in my heart
Shining in my heart
Shining in your heart
Shining in your heart
Shining forever
Shining forever

ARKADIA:-
Arkadia is a very sad song by BABYMETAL but with a tempo of 100 BPM. It can also be used double-time at 200 BPM. The track runs 5 minutes and 19 seconds long with a C♯/D♭ key and a major mode. It has high energy and is not very danceable with a time signature of 4 beats per bar. "Road Of Resistance" is a battle cry and ready for war but "Arkadia" is a more of a victory after a long battle and looking forward to a better future. BABYMETAL is relentless and you have to give respect to Metal drummers for the stamina and endurance given by them in every concert.
Arkadia
Song by BABYMETAL
Lyrics Overview:-
Dwell in a small chest
嗚呼小さな胸に宿る
The pieces that light the fire in the dark
暗闇に火を灯す欠片は
Dazzling light
嗚呼眩しく光纏い
Shine shines in the moment
輝きは刹那に迸る
Glorious, you just be ambitious!
Glorious, you just be ambitious!
Proudly raise the flag
誇り高く旗を掲げて
Glorious, you just be ambitious!
Glorious, you just be ambitious!
Holding a piece of star
星の欠片を抱いて
Now For your dream, for your faith, for your life
今 For your dream, for your faith, for your life
The map of the future that has begun to move is in you
動き始めた未来の地図は君の中にある
Now No more tears, no more pain, no more cry
今 No more tears, no more pain, no more cry
Far away from that light
あの光の彼方へ遥か遠く
Aim for the dream Arcadia
目指すは夢のアルカディア
Faster than light and stronger than steel
光より速く鋼より強く
Don't be afraid of your mission
使命の道に怖れなく
No matter how much darkness is covered
どれほどの闇が覆い尽くそうと
Let's walk this way we believed
信じたこの道を歩こう
For your dream, for your faith, for your life
For your dream, for your faith, for your life
The songs of the era when they started to move resonate with dreams
動き始めた時代の歌は夢に響き合う
Now No more tears, no more pain, no more cry
今 No more tears, no more pain, no more cry
Far away to the land of that oath
あの誓いの大地へ遥か遠くへ
Shining Arcadia
輝き放つアルカディア

This was Babymetal’s goodbye song to their former guitarist, Mikio Fujioka (RIP).🥲
He was into star gazing.
This is an absolute lie and not to ever be believed.
RIP Mikio. Still can't get through a listen to this song without getting misty eyed.
Babymetal is just the gift that keeps on giving :D
