AC4 is the only Ace Combat I've played that has that kind of 'Homeworldy' professionalism to the chatter. I also love that the story doesn't focus on you, but rather the ace pilot you end up taking down. It makes you seem almost like a force of nature by the end of the game.
yeah, the fact that they use proper NATO brevity codes in the radio chatter really helped with immersion in my opinion, i understand they sort of dumbed down chatter in later installments, presumably to make it more accessible
While I agree that it's a nice tone, especially given AC04's journalists reminiscing about his childhood during the war framing device, I also can't help but love the other games' awkward/overly literal translated Japanese melodrama, because that shit is a vibe that just doesn't exist anywhere else.
So good to see you playing through these to place it all in context. I hope you enjoy it, these are among my favourite games and what brought me to your channel.
Yo! I just wanted to say that your AC7 playthrough got me into your channel, and your appreciation for the wonderful music both in that game and others has kept me around. AC04 was the first Ace Combat game I played on my PS2 back in the day and I loved the game and music. I can't wait to watch this playthrough as well as the entirety of the Holy Trinity. Much appreciated for the wonderful content, and congrats on 300k subs!
You have no idea how happy I am knowing that you're going to play the Holy Trinity. I really cant wait for you to experience the music again but with full context
Ace Combat 4 is one of my favorite plane games from when I was a kid, the music was part of why I finished the game three or four times. I think the only one I liked more was Ace Combat 5 x)

same here friend, same here. recently just beat Ace Difficulty all S Ranks on my first go in one day. I have never been more terrified of AA guns and SAMs than that playthrough.
I dont know if its a coincidence but that little song at the end of invincible fleet 2 of the lyrics are the names of the arsenal birds liberty and justice. Over blue skies and emerald plans where justice and freedom prevail with courage and strength will fight to the end liberty in our land
Theres a fan theory that Pixy from zero is Yellow13 in shattered skies. It has a lot of holes but after the epiphany pixy goes through the characterization fits
The theory doesn’t really make sense since the interview with Pixy in Zero took place in November 2005. Yellow 13 is dead by now, having been shot down by Mobius 1 over Farbanti two months ago back in September. Plus, Pixy was fighting on the ISAF side as an infantryman, not as a pilot for the Federal Erusea Air Force.
@@justacringychannelpassingb7044technically 13 was MIA. They didn't recover a body, just the cloth. I believe November 2005 is around the Free Erusia uprising
They keep saying its a license issue for the rights to the aircraft designs but I never bought that since they do that for each release. It would sell like crack to the fanbase
@@cpob2013 yeah, while licensing for the plane designs coukd be a legal issue, I don't think there are any planes in the old games that don't return in recent ones, so ckearly it's not like the companies that make them have changed policy about letting those designs be depicted this way...
I kinda want to see him play the original japanese release of Ace Combat 3 Electrosphere (with english patch) and see all the endings. It's truly unlike any other Ace Combat game. Shame it won't be remade.
There's this overly wishful part of me that sees Ace Combat 8 being the perfect opportunity for a remake/rewrite/reimagining of 3, as they could hide a 3 inside the 8 on a logo... but yeah, realistically it will never happen...
I really think AC4 has way more standalone bangers than the other games. Like yeah, leitmotif is cool and all, but sometimes just having a dedicated cool track for every misison and not just atmospheric tracks has me listening to the entire soundtrack with no issue
eh no 😁 to enter the ace combat enthusiast community like you said, you got to play ace combat 2 as well. that game is the reason the franchise got his musical and gameplay identity, dont forget to play ac2 because its thanks to that if ace combat is what it is today. ac2 soundtrack is still my favorite out of all games as well
Hi marco, i recently had the idea where you should react to some super mario galaxy original vs underwater themes ! Nintendo is so good at remixing their own music !! Love your vids :)
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH OH MAY GAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH GOD BLESS JESUS LOVES YOU M8 THIS MY FAVORITE GAME
“Our invincible fleet guna be destroyed” that line had been in my head for years
Can't believe you're actually doing this, I am with you all the way.
I remember playing this as a kid on my PS2. Seeing the animation in the post-mission results was so cool to me.

I respect you so hard for doing this. If you play ace combat 7 after these you’re gonna lose your damn mind
He already did
Like the other guy said, he's done it already

thank you for, from the very beginning, sharing your passion for Ace Combat. you're doing amazing work.
7:46 Fun Fact, this guitar piece is an actual guitar piece. La Catedral Preludio by Agustín Barrios Mangore.
Thank you for this post, I've remembered and forgotten the name of that piece dozens of times. Maybe this is yhe one where it finally sticks.
Seeing him chasing a Su-37 Yellow Squadron with his f-16 loaded with SAMs its something to see 😅
SAMs? My brain went numb on that trying to figure that out. Imma watch more and see whatxha talking about.
Ah, mavericks, AGMs, do be hilarious though
TH-cam is pain, it didn't tell me you were going live aaaaahhhh. Im going to enjoy the VoD this game was a big part of my childhood.
There will be a aupercut soon too
@@MarcoMeatballOh, sweet. I know for certain thats the sort of thing people appreciate having, thank you for your efforts.
I bought 04 on a whim as a teenager since I liked flight games. Quickly became one of my favorite ps2 games. I still have it to this day

Came for the gameplay. Stayed for Marco humming all the Ace Combat theme
Hi crowbar!
That opening still gives me chills
It's here, it begins...
Watched the VOD, I loved your reaction to the Stonehenge firing on you
Also, ruined the crisp white sheets of Captain Torres XD
I still play this game, along with the other two PS2 AC games, in PCSX2 on my Steam Deck. Amazing games

The things I would do to get these games ported forward with a bit of HD cleanup...

@@cpob2013There exists a PS4 port of AC5, but they aren't allowed to sell it due licensing. It was a preorder bonus or something for AC7.

//Is his playthrough of AC7 posted anywhere?///
Edit >
Oh his plays channel ; found it lmao
Well I know what I'm watching on my night shifts
This was the first game I ever owned at age 6.
Regarding the handling difference between the F-16 and F4, yeah the F4 got nicknamed stuff like "Lead Nosed Diesel Fighter" for a reason. XD
The viper got its name cayse how it performed too lul.
But hot damg thr phantom was a chonker meanwhile F-16 just wanted to fly.
Can you turn the game up a little bit? It was kinda low, I feel.
Or is that just me?
Sure 😅
