As awful as these games are, the Barbie movies themselves are hidden gems. No joke. They're made primarily to sell dolls, but the producers/writers went all in on making them legit good and have good lessons in them for young kids. "Princess and the Pauper" and "The Island Princess" I think come the closest to rivaling a Disney production.
Thats funny because watching this inspired me to work on educational games for kids moreover basic action games for adults. Seems like indie games can only have these kind of devs but not always which is great !

I love the one where Barbie tells the girls that bulimia is no joke and not to become like her, then compromises on her lifestyle and sells half of her workslaves. Also she finally pays that bill for the construction company who helped build the mansion only to find out that they already went belly up and had to lay everyone off, most of which where unable to pay their bills any further and then spiraled into a abyss of drugs and crime. But it does look nice.

Actually, the animations of the horse movements are pretty incredible in the last game for what it is.

The 12 Dancing Princesses' Game is a game I've played multiple times to completion as a child. I'd play it again if I could. It's good, bad but good.

Honestly I think Barbie translates better in animated movie/show format than video game format

Secret Agent Barbie was one of my favorite games as a kid and the first game I experienced rage towards. I got all the way to the end and in the last level, the game continuously crashed. I was a kid and I didn’t really understand what was wrong so I played it all over AGAIN for it to just crash at the last level. Such a betrayal I’ll never recover from.
Speaking of barbie, I think you should play POSTAL 2 for PC 😄 it’s a great family game and I feel like it’d make a wonderful video!
There's something really unhinged about playing a game base off a Barbie movie and not knowing anything about it. They really it just expected you to know the plot lol. And if you did know the plot you'd be even more like "What the heck is this?!"

Wow that was fun! I've played these and love not only the feel they tried to go for, but the glitches as well! I was always exploring the map in the riding camp one, and even ignored the kinda curfew call to warp me to the stables at night! Really funny and pretty! My childhood best friend kept saying "I don't like Barbie but I like barbecue sauce" all the time as a kid and I didn't know what she meant by that and though it was something she just made up about making a soup of plastic Barbie doll parts. I keep reminding me this when I eat BBQ now.

I own that Island Princess game on my GBA and I used to play the 12 Dancing Princesses game on PC with my sister all the time growing up! Those games brought back so many memories.
We also had the Princess and the Pauper, Rapunzel, and Magic of Pegasus PC games as well. You guys should watch the movies together before playing the games. They're really good movies!
