FIFA was not released this year, and EA FC 24 has taken over as the new football game. In EA FC, EA decided to add women to the ultimate team game mode. This change goes away from how the sport is originally played where women and men plays seperately. Will this take away some of the passion and connection the game has had to the sport?

EA Sports' full slogan is; "if it's in the game, it's in the game", was their initial ethos to create sports games that mirror their real world counterparts. This was far back in late 90s.
Today, they've strayed far away from that slogan, and are now so far removed from reality in a bid to get more and more money from the gullible side of their playerbase.
This is why I only play career mode.

if im gonna be honest as someone who regularly plays fc 24 ive never really taken note of women in ultimate team. most players i come across generally have maybe 1 or 2 women max so the fact they have comparable stats to men really hasnt affected me much apart from thinking i just packed mbappe but instead its just katoto

No one is leaving because they added women. People don't enjoy this game because it is implicitly too competitive (generally always has been but now the game has a community so it is public) and the same repetitive anti-football patterns make you win and are are hard to stop i.e cutbacks, trivelas, chaining skill move and finesses. The skill gap in the game isn't wide enough because of these particular mechanics and so people rage.

All in all a good essay with well rounded arguments. It's good that you're not one of those people who turn this change that EA made into a "men vs women" debate. I understand your point, that you want to experience just the game that you keep up with in real life and that it takes away the immersion. Personally I believe that this should be given a chance. Maybe - as womens football grows and gets more attention and some of us get more invested in it - it's going to be more exciting to use female players. My point is we probably need to give this some time and see where it goes and for now take advantage of these broken cards

Sure, it won't be used much for a while, but as the womens game grows, so too will it grow in the game.
This game died years ago, love to bring back the days where a high rating gold team with a few in form cards was an end game squad, so many people are happy to spend 1000s of pounds on packs, no wonder they milk it to death.

The thing is Ultimate Team always was a Pay to Win game mode, nothing new to complain about, thats why I personally never play UT, just career mode, friendly games online with my friends and the most fun one pro clubs. I only played UT on FIFA 20, but it was impossible to win with only Gold card players against people that expends a lot of money to grab Icons and Special cards hahahahaha
Same here. I never liked UT and the idea behind it. I remember having an argument with a fifa streamer about it once. I told him fifa (22, at the time) was bad because it was a football game where playing football wasn’t fun most of the time, it was stressful and repetitive. He answered by asking me: “I thought fifa was a card collecting game, not a football game.” And the whole chat agreed with him. My man, if you don’t see fifa as a football game, how can you ask EA to do so? They’ve been improving (not necessarily in quality, but for sure in quantity) card collecting aspects of the game, and adding women to it just made it more interesting imo. It’s another card to try to get. Now, why would they want to improved gameplay aspects if not even the playerbase sees that as the core of the game. And that’s where we are, a football game, where playing football isn’t that much fun most of the time, but there are a shit ton of cards to collect. To be clear, EA is the main culprit here, they want their money, that’s for sure. But at the same time, we’re not asking what we should be asking from them. If you are between 23 to 35 years old and liked the ways of fifa 10 or fifa 14, or even fifa 7, our game is long gone lads, we just haven’t accepted it yet. It’s not a game made for us anymore. And most importantly, it’s not a game made with the same idea as the old one. It’s a card-collecting money-grabbing gambling-inducing game, not a football game.

i feel it comes down to packs i havent heard this argument yet but.....if u thought it was hard to pack decent players, statistically speaking the odds of packing decent cards now is slim to none. The odds of u packing fodder cards was already exponentially high now we have to worry about packing fodder and these unrealistic womens cards. its a numbers game.

Finally, a video i can relate to so much, you literally speak whats on my mind about this game. I honestly feel like releasing new Fifa game every year is unnecessary, it's literally called Fifa and they should release it every 4 years during Fifa World Cup. The most fun i had was Fifa 14 and 15 and the latest one i've enjoyed a little bit was Fifa 22. I can never understand EA's Devs, always trying to involve in BS and bringing it into the game. I honestly think if Epic Games were the ones who made this game, it would be 100% better because of how the Devs listen to its community and not money hungry.
Yeah, for example, Epic added the OG map in fortnite, made fall guys free to play, just because they listened to the community. Epic Games are greater than EA.

The best thing to have done was to have actually fully implemented the women's game separately (have they even put the effort in to bring in the female leagues?), with a separate UT mode, and then if you wanted, have them be able to play each other in offline modes.
The complaints that few would play it doesn't matter. The women's game will inevitably get bigger with time.

I believe the rating is based on how good the women are compared to other women. For example if a female player has higher physics than a male player, that's because compared to other female players, she physically strong, but the male player, compared to other male players is not. And if they wanted to make the ratings realistic in Ultimate Team nobody would choose female players cause they would all be bronze or silver.

In my opinion, they should just add a women's ultimate team. I know, barely anyone will play it, right? So be it, try to grow that game's fanbase and promote it instead of forcing people who don't want to play with women's cards to play with them. It's the best of both worlds, or at least as best we can get. If a girl wants to play women's ultimate team with her favorite female players, that's great, it brings EA money, and it keeps both genders happy. I just don't think everyone should be forced to play with players they don't want to play with. And of course, no sexism is involved, all it is is that I as a player want to play realistic football with one gender, because that's how football is played.

I'm all for inclusivity, however in RL teenage boys are beating women's teams. If those ratings for women were based on the best and worst of women then cool, but the best female striker is not gonna be as good as Haaland or Mbappe, just not the reality of things.
For me, its really not that deep. The game has been unrealistic for years, with Petr Cech (a retired goalkeeper) being one of the best strikers last year. Women are 50% of the population and the sport is the world's sport, not the male world's sport. Fifa is the most popular football game by far and so by adding women, it should bring some popularity to the womens game. I have already in the 2 weeks that this game has been out watched more womens football than I have my whole life. Complaining about them having high stats is pointless for me. Ultimate team has never been realistic with many of the world's best being worse to use than average players. The same people complaining about all these women they've never heard of being good are the same people who can't wait to use the next Youcef Atal promo card.

I personally belive that the rating is based of the other WOMEN in soccer. I think its basic knowledge that men and women can't be athletically mixed or compared so I belive that fc ment for people to view those as men in men ranks and women in women's ranks. An example of this is that sure kylian mbappe has better shooting compared to women but thats biological sam kerr on the other hand may be better than most women so in between women ranks she ranks higher this doesn't make her better then kylian mbappe but again thats biology.

I actually liked the inclusion of women despite the fact I don't watch them at all. Now, it seems there's a better chance to get good cards because women can be just as broken at the guys. And honestly... your chances of getting top player in a pack you actually want is just as bad as ever. I was more annoyed when they added shitty leagues like the saudi leagues that had shit players that would just fill packs. Women at least add 85+ players that increase your odds of having good players.
And Fifa always sucked at giving good stats to players. I remember back in 2015 where players like busquets at 89 rating were trash because they had a bad meta stat (like 50 pace when pace was everything) and another shitty ass midfielder from Everton was more expensive because he did have a good meta stat. OGs will remember how 78 Ibarbo was way more lethal and scary than Benzema or Higuain that were 85 or something like that. Fifa has always been retarded like that

Game's been shit for years, meta and momentum are worse than ever and the only thing that matters, players get nerfed periodically, the actual players are sweatier than ever, a lot of factors for why this game is trash. If it wasn't for meta and momentum it'd probably be the best football game ever, but when you can't play the game because of it, then what does it matter how good the base game actually is if you can't ever enjoy it? Also adding women to the game wasn't the reason people are quitting lol, no need to be misogynistic. On older FIFAs silver squads played way better than high rated gold ones because of scripting being advantageous to lower rated teams. I mean Esswein was OP on FIFA 13 and he was a dude with 90 pace. Ryan Kent bossed FIFA 20 and he was just a bloke from Rangers. Average players have been OP and great players have been unplayable with for years, but no one screamed about realism then

From what I've seen out of the community most people have no problem with women being added to the game. If anything it makes Ultimate Team better because there's more options to choose from resulting in more diverse team building. The problems with FC 24 UT are more related to the gameplay than the content.
