Great and interesting content! As a lifelong Illinois resident who has witnessed multiple government officials go to prison I'm not surprised to hear of the corruption with Hatch but I am surprised that Honest Abe was was involved!! Love history! Thanks Lohnes!!

History Detectives did a great investigation of this and they used the National Archives which showed the signature of A. Lincoln intervening more than once for Hatch. He even asks about votes. He is worried he will not be re-elected. I never liked Lincoln. No specific reason I could think of. I always wondered why.....until I saw the way these history detectives tied Lincoln (literally they had string they used to "tie" to a name like Hatch, Lincoln and the other politicians on the board. Interesting to see how many strings actually were tied to National Archive papers signed by Lincoln. I was shocked even though I never liked the man and was suspicious of the "honest" Abe)

Great retelling of this heartbreaking tragedy. The most touching moment for me is when the former Confederates come to help their fellow Americans. Thank you for informing the masses! May Hatch and Mason suffer for their part in this disaster.

Amazing work Brian! And although its such a tragedy, the Confederate soldiers coming out to rescue the Union soldiers just shows what americans are capable of when we work together.

I've attended a steam tractor near me for several years. They all have to have their boilers inspected by a state inspector before they can operate. I always picture the photos of steam locomotives that exploded, the boiler tubes hanging out like spaghetti. Think nitro is a cruel mistress? Nah, steam...just like Brian said.

The music is a little too upbeat.

I live right where this happened. It's not the lazy "ole man river" people think of, let alone during spring run off. When the Ohio dumps in, it's becomes different. It's fast, there's whirlpools, I don't like being on in in a life jacket. It's not a swimming type river...
I've ridden a riverboat at Memphis and it's crazy to imagine it just detonating and winding up in the river at night.

Yeah, the music just did not fit the story...the transitions were hilarious. Nice content though 👍
