there is an actual Roland 303 VST plugin too. Thanks for the tips. Im personally not exactly interested in getting a sound as authentic as possible, I would rather be able to expand on it and give it a modern twist and countless new added flavors. RN working on adding "accent" features to the device i am building and keep adding to.
Hey you’re welcome! And you’re absolutely right there’s a few good VST versions including now Roland Cloud 303. I kind of wanted to show folks though you can get close with stock Ableton plugins 😊@@jopmens6960 I built an updated version a couple of years ago th-cam.com/video/Qk42iiIfXZU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KBysuH8JOgljdvVU
Loved the tutorial! I know this video is like a year old, but I've found I had to put the Random after the Mono Sequencer, puting it before did nothing for me. Also it was awesome to learn about the Random and Scale plugins.
Good to hear 😊!! Okiii gotcha re Random it could indeed be placed before or after the sequencer. Before - randomises pitch of note/ notes going into sequencer. After - randomises pitch of note/ notes coming out of the sequencer. Thanks for your feedback
Can I simply use the regular midi sequencer? It's less similar to the original TB-303 but I'm used to it and I feel like it can accomplish roughly the same purpose, just with a different method
Hello, any sequencer you're comfortable using should do the trick. I like to use the Mono Sequencer for the depth of variation possibilities it offers. Such as Pitch, Velocity, Octave, Swing, Variable step lengths, Conform to a Music Scale. Happy Music Making! 😊
There’s a lot out there, but I liked your clear demo. Can’t wait to start to make my own instruments within Ableton.
Thank you Peter! Yes, it's so much fun & the best way to create your own signature sound 😊
