He made the guillotine as a “humane” way to kill someone. He believed it was true. Although a head can continue to live for about up to 20 seconds. That is horrifying!!! The myth that he was killed with it first wasn’t true. But there is the case of the metal bull that you’d be locked inside and a fire lit under it. When you would scream it sounded like the bull making noises. The name escapes me. But it’s creator was the first to be killed using it.
@@TimLambert101 I read that the Brazen Bull was also a myth and that it never really existed. I hope so, it would be a horrible way to go. In the present it should be wise to never cross the Mexican cartels, I saw a torture video that gave me nightmares. I only opened the video because I thought it was a music video judging by the title.

It certainly seems that some 'Medieval' torture devices like the iron maiden were faked.
