It will only escalate the conflict.
In the short term, it will have little effect. In the long term, Ukraine will be integrated into NATO's air combat infrastructure, combining AWACS, satellites, ships, sensors, drones, and submarines. Also, future F-16s will be pilotless. While India is saying Russia does not have much to worry about, India has much to worry about. Pakistan F-16s will destroy the Indian Air Force with its ancient Russian junk. I just wanted to let you know that is what you should be concerned about.

Old sidewinders (with thermic targeting) wont work - just like HIMARs and ATACMs does not work because Russia pt jamming and spoofing on the GPS signals
Russian jets have missiles that reach more than 300 km with radar homing , and that means that Ukraine has a problem to protect jets and AWACs

There have been many Western weapons supplied and deemed to be game changers but have failed to help as expected. The F16 are good but will be another disappointment for the hopeful Ukrainians.
Let's not forget Himar, Atacms, Mpats (Lancet, Javelin), Bradleys, Patriot systems, French Ceasars, British Storm Shadows ... that stopped Russian advance, denying Russian air superiority and promoted the Black Sea Fleet to the Azov Puddle Fleet.
The list continues to expand.
The Russians are still cautiously advancing despite the long list of poor game changers.
