damn five years later...feels like yesterday i was watching this for the first time. I wish this would come back. Even if its not Wil, though it wouldnt be the same it would probs still be fun to watch.
Fey Ticklebottom voice and character were what made this video. When she said she would offer them urine to play with and he said "Let's hear her out" I lost it.
This has to be one of the best episodes of TableTop! It really helped that everyone got into their characters, that makes Epic Spell Wars so much better.
Geekery The Co-optional Lounge has made a few several-hour-long episodes of Epic Spell Wars, they're just as good as this (well, almost) ;D Go check it out!
+Erik Bergström Ah we will have to check that out! We recently did it on our show, but in more of a 2 player instructional review way. These guys really went for it!
Lol, that happened to me with Dead of Winter. After watching it on Tabletop I finally decided to purchase it (having mulled it over for some time prior to the Dead of Winter episode) and suddenly I couldn't find it anywhere after that episode! So I had to order it from Plaid Hat Games directly, which was good though because it came with a bonus promotional character.
princealarming85 I pick up stuff at Coolstuff since I live near their main warehouse in Orlando. Dead of Winter was out of stock so I had it set up to email me. Because of tabletop it came back in stock at 4:00pm. By the time I read the email at 5:15 all 30 copies had been sold. I just see it as a good thing, exposing gaming to more people. I hate waiting though.
gabthegreat01 It was the same for House on the Hill with my brother, but he was lucky to get it off a sight. It was the last one and it was going to go right off the market right after this one. He payed 70 bucks for it and it was sooooooo worth it lol
I love how as the game goes on, they become more comfortable with each other, and their real personalities come out! The loud, weird side of them. Will starting out as his wierd self with no reservations helped
Every Friday my girlfriend, myself, and a few of our friends get together and play games. One Friday it will be Pathfinder but the alternating Fridays will be random game night where we all bring games and we choose a few to play. After my girlfriend and I watched this episode we knew that this game would be perfect for random game night so we bought both versions within a day. And indeed the games were a success, easy to learn for everyone and tons of fun to play. Thank you TableTop for bringing so much inspiration and laughter to our household and now to our game night.
I’m still watching this years later and my two favourite bits (besides the whole episode!) is the Piss! line at 10:10 and the “ultimate insult” line at 17:10. You all rock! 😆
Rexmon Gregory No, he died because Jonah is an idiot that thinks "random" in any sense of the word, is a synonym to "choose". He MIGHT not have still lived due to the shifting of targets yadda yadda but that can't be confirmed or denied. I just know that Jonah elevating a 33% chance into a certain hit on Wil for 3 damage kinda fucked him up.
Not gonna lie, I was sad when Will announced that was the end of the game. I was hoping there was a link to the second video (or something) in the description.
I was falling asleep this evening while watching something else and decided to lay down while watching this video. I fully expected to fall asleep in the first five minutes. I have to say, this episode was so hysterically funny and entertaining that I watched the whole damn thing and am now wide awake.
Will's voice for this should be a cartoon character... let's say on Adventure Time, that would fit. P.S. Does it remind me of the wizard from Korgoth of Barbaria or am I imagining it?
Or Superjail--or even Regular Show for that matter as well... This game is like a mish-mash of all of these styles; like Rick and Morty had an Adventure Time child with the daughter of Regular Show and Superjail or Metalocalypse (we're still not sure who the actual father is).
Also, if one round took one episode, it would only be a 2-parter if Emily won the next round as well... If she didn't, this could go up to 5 episodes. Better to just call it here.
Finally got it yesterday , had a notify me when this is back in stock in a UK store . Rang a lot of stores before that for months with no luck and was told it would probably never come back in stock , but there ya go , don't give up . Can't wait to play now :)
I both love and hate tabletop. I love that it introduces me to a lot of cool board games. I also love how it is so entertaining I could watch it all day. And I love that it introduces me to a lot of cool people that create stuff for us to enjoy. I hate that it introduces me to a lot of cool board games, games I can't play because I don't have anyone to play them with. I also hate how it is so entertaining that I could watch it all day, but they don't make them fast enough to do so (more extended episodes please). And I hate that it introduces me to a lot of cool people that create stuff for us to enjoy, but there isn't enough time to keep up with them all.
All too often the amazing Wil tries to be funny and his humour sizzles like shit in a toaster, but this episode was well and truly an absolute delight. Many thanks for the 40 minutes of thorough enjoyment!
Also, there were two living wizards on Emily's last turn, I think she forgot to count herself, so it would have been two damage. Not that it would have made a difference...
I would like to pitch a show to Geek & Sundry staring Emily and Veronica called two girls Bang inn In which they are inn keepers who have really weird guests
i'm completely serious about this all the guests could be different character tropes form tv an games and such but at the same time spin a little bit of faulty towers into it
I loved this show,. It was one of the gateways for me to get into boardgaming. Started with the Betrayal on House on the hill episode. I remember going out to pick up Betrayal after getting pumped up from that episode and sadly the local place didnt have it, but the guy at the store suggested Mansions of Madness 1st edition instead and I've never looked back.
If it wasn't for Tabletop I would never know the existence of great games like "Epic Spell Wars". Will there be an expansion titled, "The Resurrection of Krazztar" ?
On a whim, I picked this game up from my local game shop last Saturday. The box art and description alone sold me. Glad I got it, cause now it looks like it will sell out thanks to Will Wheaton & Co! It has quickly become part of the rotation of games my group enjoys, along with Sentinels of the Multiverse, Conquest of Planet Earth (which would be cool to see on Tabletop), and Legendary, to name a few.
Yo producers, I'm more than willing to watch 2 or more hours of this.
“KRAZTAR IS TRAPPED IN AN INFINITE VORTEX SHAPED LIKE A RAINBOW AND COLORED LIKE YOUR BUM!!”
This episode is such a treasure...
I looked up this video specifically to see that scene again.
I finally got to play this, and I had to play as Krazztar, and used Wil's voice until I was beaten to a bloodless pulp. It was an epic game, 5 rounds
I think this is one of the only Tabletop episodes where Will has lost his mind and just played the game for fun instead of competition
At first I didn't think I would like watching this, but that continual spell by Jonah had me in stitches.
Cheers for the lols, I needed them.
damn five years later...feels like yesterday i was watching this for the first time. I wish this would come back. Even if its not Wil, though it wouldnt be the same it would probs still be fun to watch.
If there's gonna be an animated tv-show based on Epic Spell Wars, PLEASE let Wil Wheaton do the voice of Krazztar the Blood'o'mancer! XD
Rasmus Thyrring "I'M TRAPPED IN A POWER VORTEX SHAPED LIKE A RAINBOW AND COLOURED LIKE YOUR BUM!"
+Rasmus Thyrring Throw in Jonah as Fey Ticklebottom the Enchanter and put it in a mid-evening slot on Adult Swim, and I'm game.
+Rasmus Thyrring Think Wheaton has the clout to pitch it?
+Ishtarru just cancel Mr. pickles to add this in it's slot and I'm sold. :)
yes! epic!
I love how much fun they are having. I hope Wil gets a reboot at some point.
There should be a gif of Veronica's reaction face when Wil starts telling his story.
Haha, awesome!
Took me a bit, but here it is.
i.imgur.com/N6NuCJL.gif
Haha, fantastic!
Thanks! Funny it's already on twitter!

You win the interwebz!!! ....And a cookie! 8-D
Wil's and Jonah's character voices are so great! Awesome played game!!!
They are the same
They're shit and not funny
Lady Lazervere understands that any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic!
INDEED
Veronica Belmont That's because of that Sword AND Laser that you possess, Lady Lazervere!
+ThalesWell So she's Asgardian?
Don't forget that any sufficiently researched magic is indistinguishable from technology.
anyone else want a part 2 to this?
Yes.
Yes
+Uncreative Name Yes.
They did that for Fiasco so not quite sure why they didn't do the same here.
well, fiasco had part 2 to finish it, but this can be finished in 1 round, and that is done.
Gratz to will for his unrelenting vigor to character no matter the negative feedback, a true champion on role playing. 3 Huzzahs! thank you will!
Fey Ticklebottom voice and character were what made this video. When she said she would offer them urine to play with and he said "Let's hear her out" I lost it.
Just for the record: I would have watched another 10 rounds of this. Great episode.
This has to be one of the best episodes of TableTop! It really helped that everyone got into their characters, that makes Epic Spell Wars so much better.

God dammit Wil. Every time you talk about a game it immediately sells out at my distributor, you're making my life very hard.
Lol, that happened to me with Dead of Winter. After watching it on Tabletop I finally decided to purchase it (having mulled it over for some time prior to the Dead of Winter episode) and suddenly I couldn't find it anywhere after that episode! It was Munchkin and Betrayal at House on a Hill for me...
...AND NOW THIS STEAMING HEAP OF AWESOMENESS!!
gabthegreat01 It was the same for House on the Hill with my brother, but he was lucky to get it off a sight. It was the last one and it was going to go right off the market right after this one. He payed 70 bucks for it and it was sooooooo worth it lol
dude, i live in a country where to buy theese games you have to order them from amazon and pay 40$ for delivery
The way Veronica's head snaps up at 21:32. LOL
Veronica Belmont 's face when he said, "Here's a fun story about my balls" was priceless.
I love how as the game goes on, they become more comfortable with each other, and their real personalities come out! The loud, weird side of them. Will starting out as his wierd self with no reservations helped
MillerSNK n
I totally love that Wil made Krazztar sound like Skeletor, LOL!
Krazztar and Fay Ticklebottom definitely made the game with their... let's call it exuberance.
28:50 Dr. Rooty Bark's Mind-Altering Cone of Acid...... That sounds like an awesome name for a hallucinogen.
34:00 was my freaking favorite part. The way Wil suddenly yells in character. Love him.
The editing on this episode is THE BEST. Also, this group of people is incredible
"Now we make out." Now that's some Tabletop I'd pay to see!
That's my favourite type magic: lesbomancy!
27:07 that moment when Wil says they’ll draw cards until one matches something in Jonah’s spell and then immediately doesn’t
I know this episode has been out for a while, but I keep watching it. Can someone PLEASE animate this episode? XD
Josie Haertzen same
That voice of Kraztar was too much! I loved it.
I keep coming back for KRAZZTAR THE BLOOD'O'MANCER!
Thats a cool medal album name
This has got to be my favorite tabletop episode. I watch this once a week because it's so nuts.
Of course Krazztar, a character played by Will, would die in ACID...
+Nikos “Elegost82” P. Poor Al :(
never split the party
HIS NAME IS AEOFEL! ;)
Every Friday my girlfriend, myself, and a few of our friends get together and play games. Veronicas face at 21:33 , omfg, I can't breathe b/c I am laughing so hard.
This is probably one of the best eps I've watched. I just love it when ppl really get into character and stick with it the entire game
Veronica's reaction to Wil's sudden story about his balls at 21:33 is everything
I’m still watching this years later and my two favourite bits (besides the whole episode!) is the Piss! line at 10:10 and the “ultimate insult” line at 17:10. You all rock! 😆
Epic spell wars NEEDS to be a Adult Swim show
Don't they already have Super Jail?
I'm waiting
Pretty pretty please release the full version of this session!
I enjoyed it so much!
Honestly, I would have watched 6 hours of this episode. It was that entertaining.
Heck yes. I wanna see an extended cut with a full 3 rounds!!!
Jonah will be hosting the new MST3K! I'm so excited! :D
+FullmetalNinja25 Same!!!!!!
+Geek & Sundry I hope enough money is funded that we get 12 Episodes but unfortunately the Kickstarter has slowed down since the strong first day.
+FullmetalNinja25 Not to worry, of course - we get 14 episodes!!!
Holy shit, there's a new MST3K?!
nice photo of gohku in suprsayin god supersayin
Wil Died of Acid in this game like he did in acquisitions incorporated
Thank you, I was beginning to think I was the only one to notice.
Yes, thank you indeed. Too bad no acid meme.
All my yes, I was thinking the exact same thing. Al's got a friend now.
Wil's Krazztar voice is so awesome, possibly his best performance ever!
Not gonna lie, I was sad when Will announced that was the end of the game. I was hoping there was a link to the second video (or something) in the description.
This is one of the best episodes ever. Please play it again LOL
I hope they play the second one if they ever do a Season 5.
I think they should have continued playing and just made an extended episode. Maybe put out the second round at a later time or something.
My thoughts exaxtly!
yeah, multiple rounds are crucial, especially considering they didn't really explore the dead wizard cards, which really have some awesome bonuses.
***** i think the producers were worried that if wil kept doing that voice one of the guest would kill him
THIS. This is the tabletop episode I've been wanting from Season 2.
I just feel like people aren't as in sync this season. But THIS one...
Yessssss!
Krazztar is the mix of Palpatine and skeletor.
But no doubt twice as insane as both of em put together.
I was falling asleep this evening while watching something else and decided to lay down while watching this video. I fully expected to fall asleep in the first five minutes. I have to say, this episode was so hysterically funny and entertaining that I watched the whole damn thing and am now wide awake.
5:47
Yes you are Veronica. Yes you are. :3
12 minutes in and i already enjoy this group of people more than just about any other guests you have had on this show...this game looks hilarious
Oh please bring back the Epic Spell Wars and Wil Wheaton as Krazztar. Please...
or else I will hit your offices with a giant Testikill
MEGAZ STUDIOS Not an Explodifying Testikill?
Yesterday I caught up on a few episodes of TableTop I missed, and this evening the show was mentioned on the news. Cool.
14:00 wild magic as a delivery has a initiative of 0 and is replaced on your turn not at the start
I was starting to question myself cos that's how we play it too
This was the best episode of Tabletop so far in my binge, it’s friggin amazing I love it!
Will's voice for this should be a cartoon character... let's say on Adventure Time, that would fit.
P.S. Does it remind me of the wizard from Korgoth of Barbaria or am I imagining it?
SoulerVids Yes, or King Star King.
It's basically his impression of Skeletor.
SoulerVids *Wil
ShantupWOG Oh really? English isn't my primary language, didn't even know that spelling existed :)
Or a video game villain, like Dr. Nefarious... oh wait...
This table top was so good they need to do a sequel episode!
What the what?! No round two?
Disappointed.
Should have been a two parter
I'm a bit disappointed as well. Silly producers, I understand it costs more to run longer, but, honestly, it should have happened.
Nero Wolfe This episode was RIPE for an extended edition :(
No one could handle Wil's voice for another round. They all left the set immediately.
John Duderstadt I can actually do the voice perfectly.
Time to to rewatch this episode with Oscar nominated Emily V. Gordon. Who would have ever thought it! Congrats to her and Kumail!
This was glorious.
I'm glad youtube suggested this to me, I've missed this series and wish it back.
Idea for a spin-off series:
"The Adventures of Krazztar and Doctor Hannah"
This may be 2 and a half years old, but it is BY FAR the funniest thing on the internet. Cudos!
Playing this a 2x speed, its prefect
Well, I do enjoy Wil Wheatons Krazztar voice sooo much.
Jonah was fun as well though!
I love games that get the players into characters
Was Wil doing Cicero from Skyrim?
Cicero was probably taking inspiration from Krazztar
That does sound spot on like Cicero, I picked up on it right away.
Cicero was less raspy and more stuttery though but just as irritable!
THANK YOU I SAT THROUGH HALF OF THIS RACKING MY BRAIN AS TO WTF HE SOUNDED LIKE. Sudden urge to play skyrim....
i was hearing some Stink from Korgoth of Barbaria
The graphics in this episode are the most amazing thing ever!
I feel like the creators of Rick and Morty could make a great show with this game.
BroodiestCone I was thinking adventure time
Or Superjail--or even Regular Show for that matter as well... This game is like a mish-mash of all of these styles; like Rick and Morty had an Adventure Time child with the daughter of Regular Show and Superjail or Metalocalypse (we're still not sure who the actual father is).
this is by FAR my favourite episode.
Emily V. Gordon is probably one of the better guests they've had on Tabletop.
She's pretty perfect for this show.
I keep coming back to watch this episode. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved it!
"Wheaton, what is best in life?"
3:20 "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women!"
I just need this to be a TV show with these guys voicing their characters!
Why not just make it a two parter?
Cause they probably got a lot of games they want to do.
they film all the episodes at once so he probably had a schedule to keep
Also, if one round took one episode, it would only be a 2-parter if Emily won the next round as well... If she didn't, this could go up to 5 episodes. Better to just call it here.
SapphireDragon357 Not really they could of just had a draw, its happened before. But still, they have to pay people, they have a schedule, etc.
SapphireDragon357
Agree to disagree on the definition of 'better' :p But yea, exactly that.
Now, no matter how hard I try, I will never ever forget Krazztar's voice. There is no escape, not even in death.
21:32 Veronicas face
Scrolled down immediately when I saw it to see if anyone else noticed xD
dead xD
I have to say this was one of the best you have done. Thank you
More of this, but invite Jack Black!
Then find a table toping people near you. International table top game is perfect for that.
Dude, Meetup.com almost always has a board game/geek meetup group for you to join and, if not, you can create your own. :)
I know. Depresses me too. Most of my friends dont like BGs.... sigh.
All too often the amazing Wil tries to be funny and his humour sizzles like shit in a toaster, but this episode was well and truly an absolute delight. Many thanks for the 40 minutes of thorough enjoyment!
Jonah's turn at 16:53 was played incorrectly. It should have targeted a random foe, not the foe of his choice. :) #nitpicking #rulenazi
Also, there were two living wizards on Emily's last turn, I think she forgot to count herself, so it would have been two damage. Not that it would have made a difference...
Rules seem to be an afterthought in this game.
IKR
Severely disappointed in the lack of "But actually"s.
These voices are just magnificent. I love absurd randomness in my games, i'd have a field trip with this.
Love the intro
Just bought this today so I'm rewatching. God, I miss Wil and TableTop.
I would like to pitch a show to Geek & Sundry staring Emily and Veronica called two girls Bang inn In which they are inn keepers who have really weird guests
oh my god that's amazing.
i'm completely serious about this all the guests could be different character tropes form tv an games and such but at the same time spin a little bit of faulty towers into it
That's rucking fantastic
Probably my favorite intro you've guys done. Love the music
So sad they didn't play more of this game. This is by far my favorite episode of the series.
anyone know the name of the intro music? or if it was created by tabletop and either way, where I can find and listen to it online?
Everything about this episode was amazing! Especially Will's voice and the two beautiful ladies.
So I vote Wil does the entire next episode as Krazztar
This is still one of my favourite episodes
"Got myself into the spirit of the game" I'm guessing weed was involved
I'm calling it: Best episode of the season thus far.
what Wil doesn't understand is there is a certain amount of strategy in the game.
There is strategy yes but that is not really how it is supposed to be played like he said
played the game with my mates till 4am with a few drinks. one of my favourite table top games
If it wasn't for Tabletop I would never know the existence of great games like "Epic Spell Wars".
Will there be an expansion titled, "The Resurrection of Krazztar" ?
Epic Spell Wars 2 is called Rumble at Castle Tentakill and should be out soon.
Actors and table top games, fantastic mix,and very entertaining indeed.
you know what would have been sick? if you did do the second round and uploaded it next week instead of a blooper reel.
