I have PS1 and Saturn versions of Policenaughts. I played the Saturn version using the English Translation patch which had to be implemented. I had a fantasgreat time playing it. The metal gear references, Lethal Weapon buddy cops. I would definitely recommend. (Gem I am not 100% but there was only ever a fan translation for the game and not native) do you have a custom fan translation ?
Ah, the good old Sharp X86000. If you want a better than arcade version, yes I said better, then get Street Fighter 2 champion edition on X68000. The game plays the same as the arcade but the sound quality is higher than arcade, crystal clear. Capcom CPS1 is based on this hardware. Einhander does look amazing! Just looks pure fun. Great Vid Gem!
Alien Resurrection needs a remaster. The difficulty of the game needs tweaking. I think the two Medal of Honor games for PS1 were better and probably the best FPS games for PS1. Want a super obscure PS1 FPS from Japan. Check out, Expert 1996. I'd like to see that one get remastered like Powerslave/Exhumed got.

The movement of the camera and how that then relates with the parallax environment , is just brilliant. I also loved Policenauts, and regarding that one I do have a question... Every offer that I find available online, state very clearly this being a Japanese exclusive running on Japanese consoles only. Others even say that this is a NTSC-J game. I have a region-locked PS3 and want to buy an European region-locked PSX or maybe a version of a PS2 that is more able to run PS1 games... Will I be able to play this game on any of those without having them unlocked? And in any case would me consoles be able to display a NTSC-J game? Does this game exist for European consoles? In any case, than you very much Gemma for this (and all other) excellent video(s).
I remember renting Alundra from my local game shop when I must have been around 12 or 13. Safe to say, I didn't get very far with it! Didn't realise that it was that unheard of, but in hindsight I don't really remember any of my friends talking about it or playing it. I think I must be one of the few people that didn't go a bundle on alundra (alundra auto defaulted to laundry in spellcheck, so still no lies detected lol) just felt very.....very. brown from what iv seen there was a better colour palette in its sequel but by that time, I had moved on and was picking up early ps2 titles instead. And with the busy life I'm now leading Iv missed that window of opertunity. 19 quid for policenauts? Bargain. I didn't realise it was still that resonable in price. Considering Konamis recent disposition to re release their older titles (let's be fair they've got f*ck all else going in these days) I'm supprised they have t done some of their more obscure games such as snatcher and policenauts.

I owned about half of your list at one point in time, and Alundra, Jumping Flash and Einhander are probably my favorites from the ones shown. I'm a HUGE Snatcher fan and Policenauts has been on my to do list since the PS1 English translation became available. Now I have access to the Saturn version as well, as I heard that version is the best one to play overall. But if it's half as good as Snatcher was, I should end up loving it.

I played Policenauts right when the first fans translation dropped... it was a major disappointment. Especially after how fun Snatcher was.
I can't find any other reference to native subtitles in Policenauts.... you sure the copy you have is a legit Japanese version?
The hate towards Alien Colonial Marines is a bit much. I don't see why Isolation is so overrated when it feels lacking.

A whole host of Capcom games were made on the x68000, hence why that format got loads of arcade perfect ports back in the day.

You are correct. I believe the Saturn version had additional art and cut scenes 😊
