i was at this concert in the first row of this tiny club behind a guitar store. eric forgot the words to "today is the highway" and i fed them to him. what a treat to see these 2 brilliant musicians together....a total dream fulfilled.
I have always thought of Eric Andersen as being one of our finest contemporary poets. Lovely to hear him performing with Joni Mitchell. I first met Eric over a quiet beer in the Lower East Side, NYC so many many years ago when we were both young lads. I have never missed a chance to attend one of his performances since then, rare as they have been. He continues to give us beautiful songs and performances.
i will never forget the first time at the philly folk fest. love at first sight. i saw eric once and maybe more at the pff. ill have to check my program guides. his music from danko fjeld and andersen connected me to countless music from norway
I was there that night!. Long time fan of Andersen. I was thrilled when I saw Joni sneak out while Eric was singing, pick a guitar off the wall, and take it back to start tuning. I can't remember what songs she sang by herself.
i got to see eric in late 60s or early 70. what ab incredible voice. the only time i saw joni mitchell was at the philly folk fest she knocked my socks off
I love his songs. He was really great. I saw him twice in Minneapolis when I was younger, and never forgot. In this case, the guitar stood out a bit to harsh, and I think the album version appeals to me more. But it is a matter of taste.
Agreed this is not my favorite version... but thrilled to see them together!! I saw him in the days of his first or second albums.... unforgettable and musical life changing (maybe more with his Thirsty Boots and other emotional human topics).
@@lynnroman3105 yes, like many songwriters, his early songs and albums tend to be the ones fans like the best. Although some songwriters continue to be creative even as they get older, like Cole Porter, Irving Berlin or many famous songwriting teams. But I would still like to see him perform again, wherever he is living now.

I'm glad I heard him once live. He was at a nightclub in Virginia Beach, around 1980.
Sweet. Memories from almost half a century past
Such a beautiful song--Eric Andersen is such an underrated songwriter and poet. Love him!

I thought about the past, stared at the present, and cried
Beautiful song! Love so many of Eric's lyrics & melodies - great to Joni's amazing voice - great pair! Canadian fan since 1972.
So Lovely
Love this song ❤️⭐️
Such Joy To listen To These two poets
Wow - thanks for sharing this. I loved hearing Danko Fjeld and Andersen sing this. This duet with Joni was slower and a bit more spiritual.
❤❤
Wonderful
Thanks for this. Have so much Eric's music going back to 60s. He is so great!
