Wow!!! Can you just imagine how many servants, maids and other help needed to maintain her. She must have been beautiful and the views just spectacular. There are/were what was called dumb waiters in the day to hoist food, linens and such up and down to the different floors in large manors and estates. They used a rope and pulley system in the old days. Great video and yes...more!
I know! It sure must've been a magnificent place back in the day. I thought that's what it would've been for, my mind went blank when I tried to think of the name "dumb waiter" - I'll definitely be up for doing this kind of place again 😀
Maybe one day if you feel comfortable flying the drone inside take a downward shot of you to show the vastness of the space (doorway was a prime example you stood in) or of closeups of items inside; fireplaces, views out windows and even the staircases looking downwards, etc. I think that would make for some great footage. As always just a suggestion.
Yeah that's definitely something I'd like to do, although the drone is quite awkward and hefty to carry around all the time, I shoot all of my drone footage at the end; I was actually stood around 1 mile away when I shot the drone footage of this one 😊 so if something went wrong and it crashed inside then it would be a nightmare. - Will hopefully get the chance to experiment with this in the future though!
Another informative and terrific video. People missing out not being aware that your one of the best upcoming explorers out there. SUBSCRIBE now guys and stop wasting time on those fake click bait explorers👍
Yes,very much so. Don't get to see those here in the USA. Even though it was pretty far gone ,you could still see how beautiful it once was. And in it's condition now, it's still beautiful to me.
when the drones up high it looks amazing and only when it comes down do you realize its abandoned and old. this building would have so many memories good and bad given its times.
Hi Lee, I recommend you go back sometime and look at the basement level, it's amazing. Long, vaulted corridor with lots of vaulted rooms off it. You can get to it by going down the little spiral staircase next to the main entrance, alternatively there's a stairway down from the courtyard to the left of where the front door is. I grew up near Dalquharran and have spent many years exploring it, every time I visit I find something new. The big central staircase used to be complete and you could climb right up to the top level (nowhere to go from there of course). Oh and the lift is an old dumb waiter, there were two of them in the building, the big one you found and a smaller one at the other end. Great video, love seeing aerial shots too.
Wow what an awesome place, obviously the reason for all the fireplaces was because it was the only way to heat such a huge structure back then. I would love to see more castles and mansions please. Great job maestro. xx
Wow! What a great place. You can almost imagine what it would look like back in the day what with the fireplaces and tiles. Would love to see you do more of these types of places. Another good one Lee, Thank you :)
I love the enthusiasm you have for these places and I too like places like this. I think this was on my "to do" list on one of my visits north of the border but never made it.
This is first rate. I enjoy this kind of find as I don't personally get to see this sort of thing as I don't live in the UK. This was truly a great video of an abandoned castle.
amazing to see such places before they kinda disappear with time and such a interesting place so atmospheric! :o could just imagine the servants rushing round and the fires burning it just shows how much money some people had back in the day
i believe this is the first time i drop into your channel.. very nicely done.. impressed.. it must have been an amazing castle one time.. still has its grandeur showing there.. thanks for sharing.. great video
absolutely....like to be your YT friend.. shall we sub each others channels.. you can sub mine if you like cats and dogs.. thats where i m good at .. though i love to go exploring abandoned places.. its hard to find places like that in a city (unless you want to end up in the cage..lol) and i have no time with my fur babies. so i appreciate what you guys do.. and oh yes!!! im a fan of most of bestest channels ....they are all super amazing.. and i believe you are super too.. so here i m..
Thanks Sally, I'm surprised so many people seem to like this kind of thing, I was expecting a lot of negative feedback on this but lots of people like yourself seem to like it! - Would you like to see more of these on my channel?
Notification squad! I'm one of the viewers who thinks this place is awesome. I love your content and it's presentation more with every new video. Cheers from Florida ..... Brian
Thank you Brian! - Glad that notification worked and that you didn't miss the video 😊 , I'm glad you appreciate the effort that I go through to make good quality videos 😀
Amazing that somewhere like this is actually abandoned, it looks like it's some kind of historic building that ordinarily you'd have to pay to get into. None the less, it's an amazing building with crazy architecture.
Lee Rielly Yeah, I'd assume that at some point someone will buy the land and turn it into a new house. I must hope that they keep the same shell of the building and keep all the architecture.
The elevator thingy you were wondering about is called a "dumb waiter". Sent food up to other floors and could could send down dirty dishes back down and dirty laundry also instead of walking things up and down.
Wow i love ur vids. Ur finds are amazing.. Them staircases are beautiful. I can jus imagine how beautiful this would b while it was in use.. would love to get sum locations off u if tht would b ok wit u?
I think that was a dumbwaiter. If you wanted breakfast in bed you rang a bell and your meal was brought up to you. Also it would have also been used by the maids for laundry. Thats what I have found and seen in various history.
I bet! - Those huge windows must have let in some light too, I can imagine this place was a VERY luxurious house for it's time, looking over that wonderful countryside view.
This was awesome, I love old castles and ruins too so it was really interesting imo! Btw is there any chance you'd like to collab in the summer or anytime afterwards? Love your explores so a collab would be sound :)
Just got this message, but Ive followed you on twitter anyway. Ill DM you once my final exams are done, then Ive got a year out, so should have time to arrange something haha!
Elevators have been around for thousands of years, but only in the 1800's were they electrified. One should never go to such places alone, and you should have hard hats to deflect any debris that might fall on your head.
many fireplaces it was the source of heat. the only one. as for what it takes to fix a place like this. a vision and money.... so if you got money. I got vision and knowledge. it would a challenge I would love. I also got the guys for the stonework and the glass work. it would be a work done right. with modern hidden heat sources and electricity. and yes that was an elevator. heck they had elevators in the Roman times..... they where manuel and a risk but was available. cogs and wheels....
I do have to ask, why are you shocked at the amount of fire places ?? It was common back then to heat a room by a fire place. It is a shame though to see it go to waste. I love old buildings and history like this !!

I understand. You need the Mavic next... small, lighter, get in tighter places and supposedly just as good as the DJ4 :))
My most favorite abandon castle documentary! It s so amazing..

I will certainly try to do more Steven, thank you!

I absolutely love these places, just as much as your footage of them! Please do more of these, it's greatly appreciated!

Thank you Olivia, I love how you enjoy watching my videos 😊
LOVED this!! What an amazing and beautiful home it was and still is.
really Amazing! I love the green moss/algae all around the top of the exterior. spiral staircases took a great deal of time and talent.
It's great to use our imagination.. lovely building.
From Staffordshire 😊
Great video, Lee...I would love to see more castles/large homes from days long gone in various stages of decay.👍🎦
Oh yeah, more of these please. what an amazing place. You can only imagine what it was like to live there. 10 thumbs up on this one Lee.
Thank you Veronica, I'm glad you enjoyed it, is this the type of thing you would like to see more of in the future?
Yes,very much so. Don't get to see those here in the USA. Even though it was pretty far gone ,you could still see how beautiful it once was. And in it's condition now, it's still beautiful to me.

Wow, how fantastic to come across a place like this.
I loved the minimal remnants left over such as the tiles and the lift mechanism.
Cool video Lee 👍
Thank you Katie! It was a cool place wasn't it! - Unbelievable that it's just be left to decay 😯
It's mental isn't it! I can't imagine the owners at the time would have ever thought that this is how it would eventually look!
Lee Rielly I know, it's a shame in a way but still a thing of beauty that, through your lens, we can appreciate.
This was very well done. Your photographs were stunning, I love the aqua wall tiles. Thank you so much.
Thank you very much, Wanda! - I'm glad you liked the video and photographs (a lot of people don't stick around to see the photographs lol)
Another awesome explore! And yes, definitely do more castles, they're always gems no matter their state of decay! :-)
YES MORE CASTLES ! that was awesome . great job , to bad you couldn't get down to the cellar !
Thank you Shawn, I'm surprised at how many people want to see more castles, I never expected such a positive response! 😀
To me, it's heartbreaking to see so magnificent a place so neglected.
I'm with you! That room with the windows was awesome!!! I wish I could shoot something there! Thanks for the video!
I love the enthusiasm you have for these places and I too like places like this. I think this was on my "to do" list on one of my visits north of the border but never made it.
It is a really cool place, nothing really there but that's why it's so special 🙂
Visited recently - great explore. The way down to the basement is the first spiral staircase you looked at, beside the main doors. Great vid.
This is first rate. I enjoy this kind of find as I don't personally get to see this sort of thing as I don't live in the UK. This was truly a great video of an abandoned castle.
Glad you enjoyed it! - I loved this place, the ruinous look was just beautiful.
amazing to see such places before they kinda disappear with time and such a interesting place so atmospheric! :o could just imagine the servants rushing round and the fires burning it just shows how much money some people had back in the day

Didn't know your channel until now. Brilliant looking video, I like your editing style!
Great video! I love seeing abandoned historical places. Such a shame they are left to ruin though.
Thanks Sally, I'm surprised so many people seem to like this kind of thing, I was expecting a lot of negative feedback on this but lots of people like yourself seem to like it! - Would you like to see more of these on my channel?
Lee Rielly Absolutely!
Another great video Lee, nicely done, a shame no one can afford to maintain them and they are left to rot away :(
Loved this video and definitely would like to see more castle explores.
Thank you Suzanne, glad you enjoyed it, I shall certainly be doing more of this kind of content in the future 🙂

Really nice job and history
Amazing that somewhere like this is actually abandoned, it looks like it's some kind of historic building that ordinarily you'd have to pay to get into. None the less, it's an amazing building with crazy architecture.
Crazy isn't it! - You'd assume they would do tours of this place or something but it's just sitting there, slowly crumbling.
Lee Rielly Yeah, I'd assume that at some point someone will buy the land and turn it into a new house. I must hope that they keep the same shell of the building and keep all the architecture.
awesome explore, top job
Well done!
This is really great video.
Thanks buddy!
Beautiful! I wonder the history of the place.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL 💙
The elevator thingy you were wondering about is called a "dumb waiter". Sent food up to other floors and could could send down dirty dishes back down and dirty laundry also instead of walking things up and down.
its a "dumb waiter" for sending up food from kitchens to upper floors so the servants would remain hidden
great episode!!
Thank you Neil! - Do you like this kind of place?
Beautiful.
New subscriber here. Really enjoying your videos. Thanks so much for sharing. 😀
Just stumbled across this video and would like to say, by all means, please do more castle videos. Subbed.
Thank you! I'm glad you like this sort of thing 😀

I'm pretty sure that is an old hand crank elevator... I used to have one in my barn

I bet! - Those huge windows must have let in some light too, I can imagine this place was a VERY luxurious house for it's time, looking over that wonderful countryside view.

What happened to the ruins of the castle it still exists? It would be nice if he visited again as he is currently!
This was only a few months back, I'm pretty sure that it's still in the same condition today :)
Where is the castle?
Dalquharran Castle, Scotland.
Nice! Another to binge on tonight! I just hit 200 subs recently as well!
Cheers buddy! Enjoy the videos :)
Elevators have been around for thousands of years, but only in the 1800's were they electrified. One should never go to such places alone, and you should have hard hats to deflect any debris that might fall on your head.

It's not like I've not seen a fireplace before, it was the fact that it was pretty much the only thing that remained in the house.
I love places like this, to bad she was let go.
Such a shame isn't it, what is it about these places that you find most interesting?
Great video, just sub to channel. ☺
Thank you Caitlyn, I hope you enjoy the videos 😀
