OO gauge Garden Railway - WORSLEY DALE - 48 - 'A Late Start'

  • Worsley Dale OO gauge Garden Railway has often been up and running by this time but this year it's taken me some time to get myself sufficiently motivated to get some stock on track. However, a spell of settled weather is usually all it takes to get me out into the garden and to get a track rubber along the rail tops.
    There's nothing new on view in this short video, I believe it's all been seen previously, but it's what Worsley Dale is all about and it's pointless for me to keep going out buying more and more stock when there's more than enough already.
    In this video are Hornby 'Black 5' No.45010, Sutton Loco Works class 24 No.24009, and Bachmann class 37 No.37401 'Mary Queen of Scots'.

    Great to see the railway back in action, especially in such nice sunshine. I've missed seeing it 😀

      It's great to have had the weather to do so Paul. I'm glad you enjoyed the first running - hopefully I can add a bit more interest next time.

      @@oogardenrailway Great and thanks very much for replying to my comment. That's the great part about the hobby sharing ideas and learning new ideas from other people to improve our Channel's. Stay safe DD.

      Thanks Rob. I'm still trying to get back up to speed after the winter break and I'd forgotten just how time consuming it is trying to capture video. Doesn't leave you with time to enjoy the session yourself!

    Would be brilliant to see a 24 (or paired) with freight on this!

      Thanks Richard. I could possibly do that if I can get them to run together smoothly. I've done a double 'green' 24 in a previous video hauling coaches but I've got a pair of blue ones too so leave it with me.

      @@oogardenrailway Lovely! I want to get one myself once I have spare money (not for a long time) 😂 They are a favourite class of mine.

    Great to see the garden railway back, that 24 sounds awesome. Sulzer running day perhaps?....

      Thank you - I'm pleased you enjoyed it. Yes the SLW 24's do sound good, so much better than a lot of the stuff out there at the moment. I've tended not to use them so much outdoors as there is so much fine detail on them and only yesterday I discovered a sandbox and pipework by the side of the track that had apparently just fallen off.

      @@oogardenrailway I understand your pain, that is why I have mainly bought Lima locos for the layout I'm planning outside. They look pretty good and you don't have to worry so much if they take a tumble, and the greatest fear you have of something falling of as you go round is a coupling hook. Keep up the great work :-)

      @@locohauledforum That's a very wise decision. I've found the Bachmann and Hornby models are rugged enough for outdoor use but it is risky with the more 'highly detailed' models. I've actually had very few tumbles, or derailments come to that, it's just that bits seem to fall off at will which isn't good either outdoors or in. Good luck with your plans for an outdoor line, you wil get a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction from it (either side of the frustrations!)

    Love the garden railway! Have you got any other steam locomotives?

    • @oogardenrailway
      @oogardenrailway  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks James. Yes I have a number of steam loco's but I tend to stick with my Black 5's on the garden layout (there are 3 of them). If I ever get round to it I'd like to fit sound to a K1 that's sitting on a shelf doing nothing so it can join the action too.
