I was nervous to take Lupron because I had heard some negative experiences with it but I didn’t have any side effects! The shots became second nature too! My biggest advice is, the harder you pinch your stomach and the quicker you stab the less you feel it! They became such a breeze! I also didn’t do any prep for my Lupron injections like I did my PIO since they were virtually painless! I did have a little site bruising but no soreness! You’ve got this! Praying for a great cycle! We just transferred 10/4! Your videos have been so beneficial for me! Thank you for sharing and for bringing it all back to God. Your journey has been such a blessing to me!
Didn't expect to get emotional watching this but guess my wound is still fresh. My FET failed (transfer was on 8/23). I really am happy for all of you though and wish the best of luck! Your protocol sounds super similar to mine.
Yes I did PIO 2x only the first day. The first PIO is timed exactly 120 hrs from your actual transfer time. The second PIO shot is just to get you on schedule you take it the same time every day for till 10 weeks.
You got this girly. We are just starting to work towards our second journey. We are doing and independent journey this time and although we can't transfer till early next year the process is so intense. Good luck!!! ❤ you are amazing and God bless you for doing this. I can't wait to see you go through this journey.
I have every thought that you can do the injections. As an insulin dependent person, the more you do it gets easier. I don't even flinch at needles or shots of any kind anymore
I use Freedom Pharmacy. My succesful IVF was due same day as your last journey and i followed along and lost my baby girl at 16 weeks to Turner Syndrome. Just had my transfer. Hcg test is on 13th. Hopefully we follow along again. (Also i have a gazillion sharps comtainers from them)
Ugh sorry they have you on lupron. Unless you have endometriosis it’s unnecessary, but my first clinic made me take it for no reason too and it made me so sick 😞 If I knew the side effects beforehand I think I would have been less freaked out though! The side effects are night sweats (like waking up soaked), a head rush when you insert the medication (this isn’t bad but freaked me out the first time because you feel high for a second..or what I imagine that feeling to be like, I’ve never actually felt it lol), and anxiety. The anxiety was the worst for me because I’d never had that before and it hit me like a bus. Praying you don’t have the side effects and can get off it quickly!
I took Lupron for my FET! The belly shots, to me, super easy! I don’t believe I had any hormonal side effects. Your med protocol is pretty much the same as how mine was! I did not have to do POI, I had Endometrin suppositories. So fun… 🙄 lol! Praying for your journey!
When I was in the hospital a few years ago, I received a Lupron injection every night. I think it was to prevent blood clots. It's a little painful. I had nice little bruises. It wasn't bad. You can do it!!!
I did lupron for a month before transfer then I’ve been on progesterone and estrogen for a total of about 90 days. I’ve filled up two sharps containers with just needles alone no syringes. It sucks but was successful. Be very careful to move around where you do it or else you will give yourself nerve damage ask me how I know 🙄 I did all my shots myself I feel like the legs were easiest for non lupron shots, lupron was easiest in my lower stomach fat
Lupron was the easiest, just stung first 2 days. No side effects. I had 3 est pills/day plus did a patch that I changed every 3 days. Did not have PIO x2 for the first day.
I didnt use the lupron medication...im just on the estradiol and PIO...i just finished the steroids that i took for 4 days before transfer...i just did my embryo transfer today! You got this mama❤❤
@@brandibrewer7903 that last transfer failed for me. But I just did another embryo transfer yesterday with a natural cycle. I am using the progesterone suppositories instead of the injection. The side effects of the shot will be injection site pain. Some people put ice on their skin before injection but I just injected the shot and called it a day. Some people warm up the injection shot before injecting it. Try those different methods and see what works for you.
Just curious to know, what would happen if the embryo split into twins? Or do the doctors already know that it won't happen based on how far along the embryo is at transfer?
I call Lupron the devils drug haha … I had terrible side effects headaches, hot flashes , night sweats, and terrible mood swings. I was such a bitch , I’m surprised my family stuck around. It just made me so on edge and everything pissed me off 😂😂
I’m using Freedom Fertility too! They definitely don’t give enough alcohol wipes and gauze pads. You can get more from your local pharmacy. Is there a reason why this med protocol is so different from last time?
I know that low progesterone is one of the leading causes of mc's, so having progesterone checked is very important! So IFFFF anyone in the comments has had multiple mc's PLEASE make ur Dr check ur progesterone level as soon as you find out ur pregnant..... if it's higher than 10 but lower than 20 ur Dr can prescribe you progesterone to help sustain the pregnancy! I've seen progesterone save SEVERAL pregnancies that were ALMOST mc's..,
Lupron: pinch a bit of belly fat at the site, alcohol wipe and dry, stick, and inject slow, it can burn! Don't rub after, just blot any blood with a cotton ball. Double PIO: use opposite sides that first day, then do the second day (3rd shot) on the same side as the first shot. It'll be a little more sore, but it's not awful as long as you follow all the normal tips for that. Heating pad, massage!
I learned this the hard way during my egg donor cycle, and I thought I had broken it by “opening it wrong” when in reality I wasn’t supposed to close it 😁
I did Lupron with my first journey! To be honest I felt this injection to be more intimidating then the progesterone since it’s front and center and you can fully see it go in. I ended up standing in front of my bathroom mirror and taking deep breaths and went for it. Be sure to rotate around your belly button and it will bruise and be tender 🫶 I’m surprised they didn’t prescribe you any doxycycline or Valium for transfer. I thought that was just regular protocol. Good luck!!!!! You got this!!
I just started my med protocol today! ❤ Transfer date is set for 1/23. ❤

Just got my transfer date November 9th!!
I had to take progesterone injections twice a day for the 5 days before transfer. Then once every morning afterwards until 9 weeks along.

I am about to start my meds too and I will be on the Estradiol as well. Any tips for this shot or side effects?

You might have just locked your sharps container shut! Once you click it down, the safety is engaged and the door doesn’t open anymore.
Na that one you can open and close to keep it shut. I used to have the same one for heparin shots.
Just curious to know, what would happen if the embryo split into twins? Or do the doctors already know that it won't happen based on how far along the embryo is at transfer?
You are such a brave woman for doing this! Do you have to take the shots for the whole pregnancy?
Dr tried Lupron for my 24 yr old daughter for endo. It made her miserable and very aggressive

When they call you tell them you want extra wipes that there wasnt wnough last time and they send you a box

This isn't her first time

Thankfully my husband is a nurse this looks like a lot 😂
You just wasted your sharps container! As a nurse I can tell you closing that locks it lol silly girl
