- In Game Two of the 1991 World Series, Chili Davis's two-run HR in the first inning gave the Twins an early lead before a pitchers' duel between Tom Glavine and Kevin Tapani broke out, and the game was tied 2-2 heading into the 8th. A HR from Scott Leius in the bottom of the 8th clinched the win for the Twins, who took a 2-0 lead in the series.
This video is the original CBS broadcast with Jack Buck and Tim McCarver, including pre and postgame coverage.
Game 2 was kind of forgotten with the hype the last few games got. This was a really good game.
Scott Leius’ HR against Tom Glavine.... still amazing to think Leius won that battle
wow, this quality is awesome

That was the baddest call on first base in history of the blown calls.
You know full well he didn’t TAG him out, he lifted him off of the bag and made him out.

@@Weebs82589 and Coble was 💯 wrong. Tommy Lasorda, Jack Buck, and Tim McCarver were all right on this one. That's two Cardinals guys and a Dodgers guy.
I was there!
30 years ago today
Glavine was a dominating pitcher in his day
Hrbek sure didn't look like an athlete he looked like a guy who would sit on a couch and share a beer with you
fascinating, 30 years ago, fay vincent was talking about shorting the season, its fine where it is,now even 30 years later its being talked about
They really should have replayed Gant/Hrbek at 1st base a 38th time.
Can we talk about how creepy Tom Glavine looks with that ghost mustache?
He was correct at 5:26 Referring to Terry Pendleton who had the most hits in the series with 11.
Lemke was second with 10 hits
Knoblauch, Harper & Gant each got 8 hits.

That really breaks the Brave's backs temporarily
That double play in the first inning. All it really did was help Glavine’s ERA as both runs in the inning were unearned.
Chili Davis !
RIP Charley Pride.
I remember it well my Pirates lost the NLCS three years straight and gave away Bream and Belliard to Atlanta then Bream burned them
Does it seem to anyone else that baserunning mistakes become less rare under the glare of LCS and WS games?
1:32:50 Well now we know what happened to Bubbles' dad
55:08 the pitch in question
The first base umpire blew the call.
Joe scores.
How bad is the CBS broadcast compared to the ABC one of the '87 Series. Hokey nonsense from noted voice mail leaver Pat O'Brien to open, then WAY past retirement time Jack Buck sleepily croaking his way through the play-by-play, McCarver was his usual great self but he needs someone to play off of. The whole thing felt stale and the Minney crowds reverted to their normal Midwestern reserve...no sense of occasion or excitement just like game 1 which I remember watching with my friends (I was in high school in Mpls) we were like what WRONG with the damn crowd it's the Wold Series mofos! Watching games 1-2 great for insomnia.
The braves should have won this one, they made some costly mistakes. First the drop fly ball, then Sid Bream not advancing to third and finally a bad call on Gant at first. It seems that the Twins were destined to win. Not always the team with the better offense or pitching wins, and this game is an example of that. Great game pitched by Glavine.
I'm glad MLB has cracked down on hostile baserunning. Violence shouldn't be an acceptable way to prevent opponents from making plays.

Pussies
😂
Pussies
They should have reduced the number of games years ago 100 would be fine
That's an illegal play and the crooked umpire calls him out, that's no doubt the biggest blown calls in World Series history.
Fake News
Ron Gant struggles with anger management, but he shouldn't been called out
I hate cheating. 55:10 twins got a break.
That didn't result in the loss for them lol. Coaches change pitchers all of the time, different scenarios play out, etc. The pitching matchup was Tom Glavine vs.....Tapani? THAT was the Twins game 2 starter? The Braves should have won that by plenty.
Jay45414 Tapani was good that year. He had the best ERA on the staff.
Jay45414 What are you talking about? Lol
Get over it.
The Twins played dirty in this series how could Gant be called out on that play
