Something else that also helps!: If youre playing on an emulator, you can create a save state right before you go into your PC box if you mess up the timing on the reset. That way you dont have to do the whole thing all over again and can just reload the emulator to where you were last standing, since save states are the emulator saving and not the game itself you'll still also have your "real" save point in front of the lab
Ok so I got to the third pokemon with a save state at the point I have 2 starters and a sacrifice pkmn I deposited both starters an reset grab the third an when I get back to the PC I only have one starter in the box and the new starter I chose in my party
I’ve always used this method but I do the full thing for the poke balls and always give the starters a poke ball. That way when I go to collect my 2 starters from the pc I also have those two poke balls to start with. But your method is definitely a time saver! I personally just prefer having 8 poke balls to start with instead of just the 6 you are given.

Truly awesome going through the game with all 3 starters It feels weird seeing you withdrawing the first starter when you do the reset though. This is not a necessary step. It is for cloning one mon multiple times, but not for starters

I did the correction and reset after the period of the sentence. And I got all 3 of my starters and they’re female. Took longer because I wanted all female. I failed quite a bit so I practiced saving/resetting before going into the building to see if I could get it right.
Dam the glitch works, but I was a second off and I only got 2 of the 3. I'm not starting over again just for Chikorita. At Least I have my 2 favorite Pokemon. Doing this on the Nintendo 2DS.
Works in emukator as well? Just need to reset at the right time once you have your started in box and you can "reload" a new save over the old one basically? Not sure I got it roght cause people around me interruoted me😢
yes indeed. it works on all playable platforms (carts, virtual console, and emulation) and it works the same way with gold, silver, and crystal. made a video in gold as well. same thing though.

@@Marcanine Virtual console: I just did an attempt when I reset a half second after the period, and now I can’t withdraw Pokémon without a game crash. My first attempt was relatively successful, my totodile had ????????????????R as a name, ? As original trainer, it successfully cloned but was unusable and I couldn’t send it out in battle without a perpetual “??ysj??37guun??? Has been sent out” screen. This glitch must have been patched cuz it now really messes up your game if you fail to do the glitch. 😞I can dupe on gold and silver, but I must trade with a friend to reap benefits of cloned items and Pokémon in my crystal version. This glitch has never worked properly for me on this version, and it works flawlessly and reliably every time on gold version.

the timing is different if you alter the text speed simply because we are using the text as a marker for when to stop and reset. also, no one is going to know the answer to the second part of your question because that is ridiculous.

And I know the question about n64 is a bit bogus, I was just hoping someone might have tried it as currently my openly way to play gb and gbc games is my n64 with pokemon stadium. Which I will be trying this on and can let you know if it works!

@@Marcanine it's awesome you replied lol I redid the whole thing two times but it still not happening for me I get to two starters and then try the third but when I deposit two starters at one time it only saves one
honestly. i found this process to be a HUGE pain. I made the video to show others how to do it but if you were to ask me to replicate or redo this, i would not want to. it was THAT frustrating. it does work, though. but i would not do it again in another future playthrough lol.
@marcanine so im playing on a logitch g cloud with gboy emulator on pokemon krystal legacy. My only problem i believe is when i go to switch boxes it doesnt show the "do not turn off the system" it only say (Saving...) and then saves. What can i do?

This method is only guaranteed to work on legit unhacked Crystal. I have no idea if this will work on hacked ROMs like Krystal Legacy.
