They were all modelled after Michelle's Catwoman, Cheetah being the latest example of "Woman that turns a villain/heroine with sensual appeal". However, none of the actress playing them studied Michelle's performance. She plays Catwoman so conflicted, sensual, determined and animalistic I don't think many could do it.
Interesting how their chemistry allowed them to be themselves as much as they could without telling their whole truth. They drop the facade around eachother
lol funny thing is yes, they were a couple, but around the time of filming the first Batman movie. They broke up, apparently Keaton pursued Kim Basinger but she got with the producer, but then broke up with him and got with Prince and Michelle was cast in the second movie.
They were a real life couple for about five months back in 1988. Before the filming of the first Batman movie. He actually didn't want her cast as Vicki Vale because they had broken up and he wanted to reconcile with his wife.
It stuns me sometimes how incredibly this film has aged along with us. And yet many considered it a disappointment when it was released! I always liked it but wasn't sure about some things. Now, I consider it one of the very best Batman films and absolutely one of Tim Burton's best.
This movie absolutely captured the rather complex relationship between Bruce and Selina in a way that I think inspired Nolan when he brought Catwoman into the finale of his trilogy some years later. This particular scene was great cause both found out about the other's secret identities and then there's the frame job that interrupted things before it went any further.
They didn't found out about i. When she touched his wound he got her hand out and he never saw Selina's scar. They will find out later in the mistletoe scene during the ball.
They didn't find out until the party scene, when they repeat each others' lines. "You know mistletoe can be deadly if you eat it?" "But a kiss can be even deadlier if you mean it."
I love that Selina makes the first move. There's a connection she feels with Bruce that she has been missing. Also that howling wind at the beginning of this scene is so haunting.
I was a teenager when I saw this movie in cable TV if I remember correctly. At that time I totally underestimated this film. As a teenager I was looking for action, adventure, etc. Now I am in my 40s. At that time I would have rated it 7/10 probably. As far as I remember. I feel utterly foolish. This is not just an action adventure fantasy film. It is more than that. Now I rate it 9/10. I want to rate this film 10/10 at the moment but I am trying very hard not to get carried away. Michelle Pfeiffer. OMG. And Michael Keaton. What brilliant actors\celebrities!
it's funny I never quite understood the excessively dark eyebrows on Michelle which in this scene are even more exaggerated because of the lighting. was it done to better match the black Catwoman outfit? the hair was on point but those eyebrows were just too severe even for a comic book based movie. however this was the best by far of the four and it's largely due to Michelle's amazing portrayal as the Catwoman which was dark, fractured and had a haunting desperation to it that somehow enhanced the sensuality of the role making but allowed it to come off more human and a relationship of equality between the 2 sexes than just a sex kitten/love interest side story.
I don't mind the eyebrows. And I love Batman Returns I think it's one of the best portrayals. I wanted to see more of Bruce Wayne and Selena though. I kinda wish the movie focused on those storylines more because they was way more interesting than anything else in the movie.
The character Vicki Vale from Batman (1989) (played by Kim Basinger) was going to return in this film. She was featured in Sam Hamm's early draft of the film when it was intended to be a direct sequel of the previous one, but due to the fact that Tim Burton doesn't like making sequels, it was decided to exclude her. She's only mentioned during the conversation between Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle, where Bruce mentions that Vicki ended their relationship because ultimately she could not accept his dual life, as well as when Bruce reminds Alfred of him letting her into the Batcave in the first film.
I love Keaton as Bruce Wayne, he’s not like any other Bruce Wayne I’ve ever seen. Bruce always seems like a cool super smart mysterious badass but Keaton is like an almost clumsy normal dude who just happens to be Batman
The face of bruce at 2:30 is hilarious. Bruce and selina from the show Gotham should do this exact same kissing scene since its in the final season :'(
Batman and Catwoman can't have a night off, yet they are meant to be. Tim Burton knew what he was doing when he picked them for the part. Danny Devito is the best as well as Penguin.
“No, had one didn’t work. What went wrong is” “Tried to keep secrets from her?” “No well I actually tried to make her say my name three times then marry her, but she didn’t like that”
Michael Keaton and Michelle Pfeiffer appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Keaton as Adrian Toomes (The Vulture) in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne (The Wasp) in Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018).
Alfred’s look of shock at Selena when she starts telling him to make an excuse for her is like him realizing that she’s perfect for Bruce
To quote Talladega Nights, "Now we got two in there"
WOW we have a savage ................................your basically saying that Bruce is dumb and also that Alfred could think that.

Interesting how their chemistry allowed them to be themselves as much as they could without telling their whole truth. They drop the facade around eachother
She looked so pretty in front of the fire. That lighting, her hair, etc.
When does she never look pretty? LOL.
She’s so stunning.
she purred... and the tears in her eyes when the wound is revealed
Ms. Michelle Pfeiffer is an absolute beauty.
I like how they’re getting freaky whilst knowing Alfred is just wandering about
Hahaha!! I never thought of it that way, but yes!! Incredibly true!!!!
Alfred get me something condoms
Michelle Pfeiffer is such a timeless beauty that even now there are pop culture references to her beauty.
These two have some serious chemistry. I'd have guessed they were a couple irl. Very, very good acting.
They were around the time the first Batman movie was being made :)
lol funny thing is yes, they were a couple, but around the time of filming the first Batman movie.
Watching these clips make me realize that this movie was better than I remember that I'm going to have to watch this whole movie again.
Same here
It stuns me sometimes how incredibly this film has aged along with us. And yet many considered it a disappointment when it was released! I always liked it but wasn't sure about some things. Now, I consider it one of the very best Batman films and absolutely one of Tim Burton's best.
This is truly Christmas movie. Ive already forgotten about that because of new batman, joker movies.
"Just make up a dirty limmerick or something."
"One has just sprung to mind."
Hilarious, underrated dialogue!
Watching clips of this movie; all the dialogue is fantastic
This movie absolutely captured the rather complex relationship between Bruce and Selina in a way that I think inspired Nolan when he brought Catwoman into the finale of his trilogy some years later.
This particular scene was great cause both found out about the other's secret identities and then there's the frame job that interrupted things before it went any further.
Leonard Aarons III, it did all that and more.
"sickos never scare me. At least they're committed." LMAO!!!! That is PRICELESS! love it.
I love the way Michelle Pfeiffer says 'No!' after each excuse she gives Alfred lol. She's so natural.
Selena almost went through the wrong door and into the batcave 😂😂😂😂
It was ALWAYS Batman & Catwoman since the 60's!😘😁
“One has just sprung to mind.”
Alfred Pennyworth the man, ladies and gentlemen!
Also its crazy how much this selina and the selina from the gotham show on fox look alike
Michelle Pfeiffer on a date. Best date for any man.
I love that Selina makes the first move. There's a connection she feels with Bruce that she has been missing. Also that howling wind at the beginning of this scene is so haunting.
They were made for each other!
Michael and Michelle acting was what made this movie good.
Why is she so perfect
1 & only Catwoman/Selina Michelle Pfeiffer OOHH SOO HHOTT
'The ice princess has been kidnapped' just as selena melts
Best batman and Catwoman EVER ❤️
Batman & Catwoman are my favorite couple
Both have good chemistry together ❤
this just the hottest scene ever!!! Michelle - the Catwoman herself!!! What a look! What an acting! 😍😍😍
It’s so weird that the house shot in the beginning of this clip is a miniature! Gotta love Tim Burton.
I love they look like kids and Alfred his father checking on his son
Aww
Best date scene in a superhero movie ever.
Lol.... Bruce Wayne's mansion looks like Expensive real estate you would find in Chicago... the irony is that I'm a New Yorker
Retro Dude I live there and the first thing I literally though was, looks like the suburbs in December. Lol.
This is a truly Christmas movie.
it's funny I never quite understood the excessively dark eyebrows on Michelle which in this scene are even more exaggerated because of the lighting. was it done to better match the black Catwoman outfit? the hair was on point but those eyebrows were just too severe even for a comic book based movie. however this was the best by far of the four and it's largely due to Michelle's amazing portrayal as the Catwoman which was dark, fractured and had a haunting desperation to it that somehow enhanced the sensuality of the role making but allowed it to come off more human and a relationship of equality between the 2 sexes than just a sex kitten/love interest side story.
No. Those eyebrows are amazing.
That's how you know this was made in the early 90s (Madonna and Sharon Stone were also making the dark eyebrows/blonde hair look iconic)
Its the dark eye shadow at the inner corners of her eyes (makes you more sinister looking), Christopher Walken has the same makeup, i love it!
I don't mind the eyebrows.
And I love Batman Returns I think it's one of the best portrayals.
I wanted to see more of Bruce Wayne and Selena though. I kinda wish the movie focused on those storylines more because they was way more interesting than anything else in the movie.
Lucas I agree
The character Vicki Vale from Batman (1989) (played by Kim Basinger) was going to return in this film. She was featured in Sam Hamm's early draft of the film when it was intended to be a direct sequel of the previous one, but due to the fact that Tim Burton doesn't like making sequels, it was decided to exclude her. She's only mentioned during the conversation between Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle, where Bruce mentions that Vicki ended their relationship because ultimately she could not accept his dual life, as well as when Bruce reminds Alfred of him letting her into the Batcave in the first film.
the best cat woman, no one even come close to her 💗
I love Keaton as Bruce Wayne, he’s not like any other Bruce Wayne I’ve ever seen. Bruce always seems like a cool super smart mysterious badass but Keaton is like an almost clumsy normal dude who just happens to be Batman
She's just so beautiful, it's ridiculous. Goodness me.
And damn i wish i had a fireplace like that😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
It's nice, but I'd settle for a girl like Michelle Pfeiffer to share the couch with!
God Damn!!! PASSION IS AWESOME
she is amazing. n so beautiful it hurts
Romantic comedies WISH their leads had this much chemistry as Keaton and Pfeifer do in this film! Holy shit they're amazing!
“No, had one didn’t work. What went wrong is”
“Tried to keep secrets from her?”
“No well I actually tried to make her say my name three times then marry her, but she didn’t like that”
They were having an intimate conversation . . . with the TV on?
CountArtha Honestly, I do that all the time. LOL
They were waiting to watch the Christmas tree lighting ceremony, remember?
Now people have intimate conversations with the mobile phone on!!
Netflix? What the new kids do but back then it was just to Lol
"Hey that's how it starts staring into eachother's eyes!"
Michael Keaton and Michelle Pfeiffer have been nominated for Best Kiss in this movie.
