Well I missed the live. Hope you enjoyed your trip. Looks like we’re missing you by just a day. We were watching that same sunset south of you down on Ottawa Beach Holland SP. Will be in through Ludington today. Look forward to watching the trip video. Safe travels home
So your bear! We showed up as well not knowing, they said you were the lone camper, we should have came over and chatted with you, it definitely was some low water
@@BadBearU812 ya it's always like that, just not that shallow, it's a great trip going from west Liberty as well but that's typically only floatable in the spring, I know there was a big tree down the last time I floated that section, I would like to get more south, I haven't floated past Spangler Rd area
@@JonHodgson-li3hi That my put-in and normal take out at rainbow lakes. I also like put-in at that park in Springfield but haven't ran that for many moons! Lol
I was all excited about the meetup cause bought me a new kayak (perception outlaw) and was looking forward to seeing how it would do. Didn't want to drag it down river so I rented one of theirs.
@rickmiller3368 Hup all Night! Have been a part of a feed team for 9 marathons. Have paddled one General Clinton race. Hoping an ACRM still on my bucket list.
@@jasonwish- Can understand that perspective. Still want to paddle it entirely as a camping thru paddle myself. Scout Troop did the Rifle River this year that's close by but a much smaller river.
Good stuff. I was going to be at the meetup. Are you going to meet up with us at the Red River Gorge youtuber meetup at Hanson's point this Oct 11th-13th? Backpackingwithjason is putting it on this year since Nicole Hikesalot stopped i guess.
I would not recommend it. After Huffman Dam, there’s about a half mile of walking before it’s floatable again for the final few miles, but it might still be OK for the most part from like mad river adventures down to the Huffman Dam with not too much scraping bottom
@@jasonwish- I would say the Mad is done for the year. I was just looking at NOAA/NWS drought stuff. Clark and Champaign just entered D3:Extreme drought and conditions are expected to persist into middle/late October.
Looks amazing man! Looking forward to the trip video!
Thanks, AJ!

Nice!
Enjoy your trip!!
I'll have to get you up to the U.P.
It’s beautiful up here!
Missed you at the Birch Bark meetup and yep water way to low. I missed the cx. But still camped out and had good time by myself. Lol

@@JonHodgson-li3hi It was my first time that far north on the mad. couldn't believe how cold and clear the water was.

Sorry missed the live. Love Michigan rivers. Have you seen the Ausable canoe race documentary?
Just have thought the cross between your fkt and paddling this could check both interest boxes for you.
Be in Grayling next year for the start of the Ausable River Canoe Marathon. A definite must see.

Yes, I’ve watched it on TH-cam. Doesn’t really interest me though because when I paddle I like to relax, and my Fkt days are over I believe.

The car ferry to Wisconsin departs from Ludington. Another must see.

Well, one of these days I’ll make it to that but not gonna happen this year because I’ll be on my three week RV trip with my wife
Ludington State Park is closed for renovations.
Glad I didn’t go there
@@jasonwish-It’s a super nice campground though. Just have to reserve it 6 months ahead! 😂
Is the lower section of the mad good enough to paddle

Just got done doing a Pine River paddle through with three of my buddies. I am exhausted.
The Pine was one of my Michigan favorites, right up there with the Little Manistee.
@@jasonwish- that’s my next one such a beautiful area
Wish i would have known you were doing the peir Marquette, I would have met up with you and ran the river with you
It was a last-minute decision like two days prior to leaving
Go blue
Go Bucks
I'll take our 6 wins and 3 losses in the past 10 years or 18 to 10 in the past 30, but I do realize you do have the overall at 60-51.
@@jasonwish- yes we got you beat still go blue
Bad idea to kayak salmon are running
It was still amazing, I was hoping to catch one
