Not true, creatives will find a way to use tools in a creative way to forge paths that may not exist just yet. keep going, art background just amplifies how much better you can use these tools to get results beyond what others may get too.

Creativity cannot be replaced by ai. They work on provided data and they enhance. Every individual has a unique though process that's why each artist is unique.
Find your signature. Use software to enhance the visuals - not to replace thought process

So what if the user creates a successful business and it becomes their logo. Does the AI company get residuals? Can they piggy back off the popularity and use it for other business ideas?

I've gotten mixed results with Midjourney. I think this AI learns from experience, so if you want to get the result you want, you either need to choose a prompt similar to everybody else's prompts, or you need to select a prompt that is abstract enough so that you can be happy with it even if it isn't exactly what you want.
I'll give some examples of what I have done.
Half the pictures people do on here are of pretty women, so if you prompt a picture of a pretty woman, you'll get a very high quality picture of a pretty woman. It seems in general to be pretty good at faces.
I got abstract pictures I was happy with from these prompts:
"The Burning Bush says, 'I am that I am...'" (it was a long prompt and I didn't write it all)
"The AI which designs itself approaches God faster and faster for all time, but never arrives"
"Gay pride colored fire and brimstone falls on Gomorrah."
Results that were different than I expected, but I kept them because they still looked good:
"One Punch Man and Tom Bombandil having a good time in Tom's enchanted Forest." The two guys it generated didn't look like OPM or Tom Bombadiil, but the forest was pretty and it really did look like they were having a good time, so I kept it.
I tried to get it to generate for me a beautiful green forest with elves singing a capella in it, but it could only either generate a forest like I described, or some elves (of the santa claus variety rather than the LOTR variety like I had wanted). But the scenery was still pretty, so I kept some of the forest pictures.
Prompts that did not yield good results:
"A dragon greets you with the temperament of a Golden Retriever" In general it seems to be bad at dragons. Maybe dragons don't have consistent-enough body plans for the AI to easily understand what is expected. It showed me a happy golden-retriever head on a golden snake body. The closest thing I was able to get to a dragon was, "giant winged snake flying over the country-side breathing fire." It got the snake prompt right, except that it left out the wings.
"Anatomically correct human hand" It only generated monstrosities. Maybe human hands aren't as popular as human faces, so it didn't train much on this, but they still have to look exactly right or else they are ugly.

This may be great for any endeavor where you don't plan on having Intellectual property (IP) rights. Control sale, marketing, distribution, royalties etc. There is no business model for using this service and making money that Midjourney doesn't claim the same right to itself. I wouldn't trade off actual programs , expensive as they may be, for something who's end result you have no control over.

all looks a little too exhibitionist in the way it's set up to work for my introverted brain. tho the results look very good quality i didn't notice any option to derive the Perlin from a separate image, so inheriting the color or any other influence by any value you set, or aspect ratio or scale of increment for render quality.. like you could, possibly still can with Disco Diffusion plus, you need to be on Discord (just so not interested in discord). also for ease and polished UI there's Dall-E.. tho again there isn't the degree of control & options you have in Disco Diffusion. But like i said, the image quality, connection of lines, borders between objects does look to be better in MidJourney.. not sure how with the prompts ive seen used its got such good results, like where's it pulling its inspirational from? One of the problems i got with Disco Diffusion would be if i encouraged it to check Art Station as an influence on style it'd often Incorporate peoples water marks, logo, or name, tho distorted it's still not something you want.
last thought on the topic is - why do they all have such problems with hands? Dall-e you can improve them in Dall-e edit.. and while in Dall-e edit you can gain a very wide or tall aspect ratio by rendering a 2nd, 3rd, 10th,12th square tailoring the prompt as you go along providing you with a huge picture or panorama.

I got In and was excited to try it out with deep emotions positive and negative. But then when I got to the agreement it stated that they can sell and use my data and listed what that would be. One red flag for me is that I am letting them have my social security number. Why is that needed. Unless I am not understanding that right. And I know that over the last few years maybe since 2017 this tech has been around in ways. Even built into filers and software without us thinking of it. What are you feelings about the data collection that is happening through this? How can an artist protect themselves and their identity. Also I see people uploading their faces and I know that this could get weird fast. I just do not know. I guess our faces and video capture of our Live Photo;s are collected already through AI phone applications too. But are we through exchange of using the tech -- letting them have our photo's and our family photo's for commercial use without protection. Is there a video on this?

Ok, but it pulls from a database of images and combines them to make the image. So, while it's still cool, other artists already created the base images. At least for now, real creativity is still a human domain.

There was this sense of creation in art and something by a human mind and human hands was pretty much appreciated for it being unique , computer has now made art cheap and delusional with no expertise needed people who love the idea of art being made by someone would never buy a computer generated image which is a bunch of images combined together (stealing other artists work in a sense )
Art has lost its worth and so have the artist, I wanted to be a concept artist but looking at this Ai generated art I’ll be giving up on my dreamv

    • @Elsynce
      @Elsynce 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Don’t give up :) Nothing can’t compare a hand made craft and art! It will be even more expensive and rare now because of this for sure! It’s like paying to watch a concert of your favorite band recorded on a video with the use of a lot of autotune, than going to see them live ;) Can’t compare it right? Even if it looks very cool and pretty it looks very cheap to me , just because i know it was made in just a seconds by a computer and there is no meaning behind it at all… 😅

This is true to some extent we would still be needing tiny things done which still the computer can’t understand

I enjoyed our video, I have a question that I hope you can answer or point me in the right direction. While playing around in Discord, I created some images, I wanted to get rid of them, I unfortunately got rid of them the wrong way, so they don't show up in Discord; however, when I open Midjourney they are there. My QUESTION is "How do I permanently get rid of them?
thanks in advance for your help

Hi prateek , which of the following pronunciation of your name do you prefer?
    1. Pru-tik
    2. Pru-teek
    3. प्रतीक (you can use google translate, but do listen the pronunciation in hindi)
I'm genuinely curious, do let me know.
Why i ask this?- i want to know how growing up in a different country affects one's preference for pronounciation of native words.

This might do the opposite of what some assume. A further, reactionary return to the appreciation of skill, diligence, patience and genuine human creativity may result. #no a.i. or #humancreated may become more valuable thanks to this. Beware the desire for un-earned status. When everyone can do something, it just isn't the same. If Ferrari's were as common as Toyota's, people wouldn't care about them and always adjust to the respect the rare exceptions. We can only look at one thing at a time, how many of us have already seen the millions of images that are produced every day?

"It figures out what fruits look like" There's a very generous skip over the fact that humans who know what fruits look like, loaded a bunch of images of fruit into a library, and it retrieved them. Then refines which libraries to retrieve faster, based other people's confirmations that these are indeed fruits. I think trends in your account's prompts would lead to loading your visual 'style' faster too.
