❤ you totally get the point why people want to have John Patitucci in their bands, not (only) the bassist but the wonderful person he is. Thank you for being around, John (and for indefinitely having shaped my musical mind!)

I always knew he was a great bass player, but now I realize the greatness of his overall musicianship. And what profound and good human being he is. Moving interview. Respect, John!

John is my favorite bassist. I have a poster of him with his Yamaha Trb 6p on my room wall. I’ve got all his cd’s too & not forgetting his signature bass. I just love him. Thank you NYU Steinhardt Jazz Studies for this interview.

John Patitucci has been my favourite bass player for over 20 years now and i had the great pleasure of meeting him last year at a bass clinic in the summer when Chick Corea's Akoustic Band played in London, he's a true first class act, very down to earth and an amazing human being. Thank you so much for this wonderful in depth interview with one of the true legends of the acoustic and electric bass.

I stumbled across John at a Eddie Daniel's performance at Concert by the Sea in Los Angeles, many moons ago. When John took his first solo, I was blown away. He was amazing!!!

But what a nice guy he is !
His humility is as inspirational as his art !

Beautiful. When you live on an Island, where Jazz after 1950 is frowned upon , with population of 85,000 and like minded players do not exist or appreciate the power of music.......it's a lonely existence, but illuminated by this beautiful music. People with ears are as common and rare as hen's teeth !!!!!!!!!!!!!....Thanks DAVE for another inspirational dialogue

This is GOLD, thanks for posting, guys ! I met John after a gig in Westwood, 1991, & he was the most friendly guy you could hope to meet. (drummer for that date had had to pull out, so they got... wait for it... Vinnie Colaiuta !)

Fantastic Humanitarianism with ‘Musician-ism’ (Musicianship )
And so relevant .. at such a time as this ... these present days .... where & when bigotry seems to rule in the atmosphere
