I love how occasionally they'll bring up how low budget they are (the mockup of the DVD for Monsoon Poultry Hospital) while at the same time, John Oliver left after the first serries, and HBO pays for him to have lawsuits and Broadway style musical numbers, and to incorporate two businesses/churches a season.

John Oliver, who was with Mock the Week at the beginning, gets to throw money around like it's going out of style in his HBO show. I see that contrast as funny. I'm sorry if you don't, but I don't know if I can explain it more than that.
