I like how he occasionally references video games like Tekken and Resident Evil. He knows how to appeal to a wider audience without alienating those who don’t understand the references.

It's so annoying that no one will put up with anything being mocked anymore. Not even the week. Or the Tories. I can sort of understand how certain things shouldn't be made fun of, but there are other things about which I feel that's their only useful purpose. Like what's the point of a government you can't verbally shit all over?
Hahaah I’m bisexual af and I’m from Middlesbrough a dude two street across from me actually got his head caved in for wearing makeup two years ago so he ain’t wrong .
I feel like a lot of the people who are mad that Frankie’s gone “woke” are more mad that he’s left-wing than any changes in his actual comedy. He’s always been way too good of a comedian to lower himself to cheap shots at minorities or people with no power the way “offensive comedy” is lauded for these days. His comedy’s always “punched up” at institutions and the powerful, like the Catholic church, the royal family, world leaders, celebrities etc., and his jokes that include people are usually specific to one person, and people like minorities are rarely made the butt of the joke. A good example from this video is his “actually they fucked me” joke about gay people - its not supposed to be making fun of anyone, the humour comes from it being so unexpected. A similar example is his “worst places to grow up gay” joke - it’s making fun of those places, taking shots at their homophobia, not the gay people. Frankie’s a great comedian because he understands the nuances and the difference between “offensive” like shocking and rude, and “offensive” like harmful or stereotyping. That puts him a massive cut above the rest, who think the point of “offensive” comedy is to purposely try to make people angry or upset. Whether you think people have a right to be “offended” or not, the first rule of comedy is that it’s supposed to be funny, and if a significant proportion of the audience stops laughing - whether it’s because their offended or not - then that’s just bad comedy. Frankie Boyle seems to understand this better than anyone else, which is what makes him such a great comedian, and how he’s largely avoided massive controversies throughout his career.
exactly, i see people claiming he "turned into a woke lefty" and it's just, like, were they actually watching his old material? because the literal 3rd joke in this entire compilation is him railing against Conservative tax cuts for the rich. he has literally always been left wing and aimed a lot of his comedy at right wing institutions, they're just mad that he doesn't tell rape jokes any more.
He might have always been left wing but woke stuff is often pure lunacy and cries out to be made fun off. Like all this nonsense about gender identity. That really does need to be made fun off and ridiculed. And if you don't make fun of it then I think you are most likely just scared of being cancelled. So Frankie could remain left wing but still attack woke stuff as that is just ridiculous ideology that has nothing to do with normal left wing politics and socialism.
@@marlowemarlowe4893 I hate to break it to you mate but to "attack woke stuff" would generally align you with right-wing opinions. Frankie doesn't attack these because, like the vast majority of us on the left, don't see it as a problem. 2:45 - He jokes about philosophy in primary school. But I've been told by my parents that in the 3rd or 4th yr at primary school, I actually had conversations with my teacher about philosophy. I don't recall, but they've got no reason to lie about it. I know; weird kid right. I know better now though. Not just weird, but autistic too.
