- A biopic on the renowned poet, litterateur and the first woman recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award, Amrita Pritam.
Born in 1919 in Gujranwala, Punjab (present-day Pakistan) she was an artist par excellence. Her career spanned a period of six decades in which she carved a special niche for herself and produced some most memorable works on reminiscing the devastating times of the Partition of Indian.
Amrita Pritam created a legacy by her works like Aj Aakhaan Waris Shah Nu, Pinjar, Rasidi Ticket among many others. She also worked with the All India Radio and was a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha.

Very well produced. Narration is excellent. She was a brave woman to defy the conventions of the society. Her place in the realm of Indian literature is secure. Punjabi language is fortunate to be blessed with her presence. Sahir was associated with Sudha Malhotra for a few years before he died. Amrita Pritam has mentioned it in her 'Rasidi Ticket'.

there are millions of words to write on the life of Amrita jee her soul was soft,her life was hard she was love and she was lover ,she was good human,and she was a sound of a humanity.
I remember the day I first read Ajj aakjan wadis shah nu-lots yeas later I was scheduled to have her audience in Delhi but I got stuck in Delhi and then had to fly away and missed the chance of my life But I Salute the Great Artist of Punjabi language and of India A pure human spirit I could not meet you personally but I visited you through this program. My salute to you and to sahir who was my señor in the same Govt college Ludhiana - a great college then - maybe now too- depends !!
Beautifully compiled, splendidly scripted well presented the woven life of Late Smt. Amrita Pritam. Till date I was unaware of such Bharat Ratna legend, loved her approach towards Love.

Such video's programmed by Badal ji with great personalities takes me in different world. I fantasize this world with full of lovely people like Sahirs, Emroses and Amritas and i am being at vantage point to watch this world.
